New Book Purchase and Toy Corner: Batman/Catwoman: The Wedding Album and Funko Josie McCoy (Riverdale)

I just got back from the comic book store and thought I would post my two wonderful little finds. The first is the Batman/Catwoman: The Wedding Album. Yeah, I know I shouldn't have bought it but I guess I'm a fool because why else would I buy a collected copy of the wedding that wasn't. I don't know, I saw it and thought it seemed like a cool find.

And the second thing I found was a Funko Josie McCoy from the Riverdale TV series. She's pretty cool and apparently a limited edition figure which is why she cost slightly more than the average Funko. But I figured I would get it since I only had three books on this week's list and not to mention the last time I bought a Funko was during this year's Free Comic Book Day.

Funko Riverdale: Josie McCoy

Actress Ashleigh Murray currently stars as Josie McCoy on the CW's Riverdale. Whoever the make-up artist was for this photo shoot did an amazing job because it's flawless. Her eyes totally pop with the shadow, liner and the playful dots.

As for Riverdale, I do wish Josie, Valeria and Melody (Josie and the Pussycats) had more scenes on the show and not just of the band performing. Maybe the writers can find inspiration from some of the comics as a way to incorporate more stories and depth to their characters.

DVD Pick: Riverdale Season One

I have decided to give Riverdale a second chance and it didn't hurt that I found the DVD on sale. The first time I tried to watch the show, when it first aired on The CW, I really couldn't connect with it. I know a lot of my disinterest was with how the characters were changed and the dark tone of the show. I'm used to reading the Archie Comics books where the characters and the stories are very light-hearted and humorous and I was used to that interpretation. But since I'm a big Archie Comics fan I wanted to give Riverdale another chance maybe this time it will be easier to enjoy the show.
