Book of Interest: Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Wrath of the Triple Goddess

Even though I haven't read the sixth Percy Jackson and the Olympians book, The Chalice of the Gods (it is sitting on my book shelf), I have already pre-ordered the seventh book, Wrath of the Triple Goddess. I love reading these Percy Jackson books they are such a fun read.

Based on the description for both books, Percy is going through a lot to get his recommendation letters. I can only imagine what he will have to go through to get the final letter. I'm guessing there will be an eighth book, unless Percy already got two letters in the last book, The Chalice of the Gods. Since I haven't read it yet, I don't know what happens in that story.

Anyway, I pre-ordered Wrath of the Triple Goddess and I can't wait to read both books.

New Book Purchase: Bad Dream: A Dreamer Story

I pre-ordered this book last month and it finally arrived yesterday. Ever since Nia Nal a.k.a Dreamer appeared on the Supergirl TV series, she quickly became one of my favorite characters. And I can't wait to read this book, Bad Dream: A Dreamer Story by Nicole Maines (the actress who played Dreamer) and Rye Hickman. This book is the origin story of Nia and how she became Dreamer.

I know I buy a lot of books and then I end up reading them so much later. But for this one I'm going to try to move it up on my list so I can read it sooner. I just have a few books that I want to read after finally finish The Fever Code by James Dashner. I did recently buy From Twinkle, with Love by Sandhya Menon, I just forgot to post it.

New Book Purchase: B&N Presents Fierce Reads Essential Library

I'm so happy to show you my new books. A few days ago, I posted about this great deal I had found for this boxset for $10.00 which of course I ordered. The other day my order arrived in the mail and looking it over I really think it's a pretty cool set of books that contains the first book of four different series.

Book Deal: B&N Presents Fierce Reads Essential Library

Whenever I find a good book deal, I like to post it. I was searching on the Barnes and Noble website looking for the first book in the Shadow and Bone book series by Leigh Bardugo when I found the B&N Presents Fierce Reads Essential Library.

It's a paperback variety boxset that includes the first book from four different series (Shadow and Bone, Lunar Chronicles, Summoner and The Remnant Chronicles). I've been planning to read each of these series but I've been hesitant to buy the books just in case I didn't like them. But since this boxset was $10.00, I couldn't pass on such a good deal. I ordered it and now I'm just waiting for it show up in the mail. I'll post it as soon as it arrives.

New Book Purchase: Star Wars Costumes: The Original Trilogy

I have wanted to buy Star Wars Costumes - The Original Trilogy for the longest but I could never find it on sale. And $60 is a lot for one book, even if it is Star Wars. However, a few days after Christmas, I found it online for $46.99 at Target. I knew I had to order it especially for that price and I'm glad I did because it sold out afterwards.

I just love all the costumes and I can't wait to flip through the pages to see all the details. I'm a big Star Wars fan (and I'm sure anyone who visits my blog knows that), I really can't get enough of it. From watching the movies and TV shows to reading the books, I never tire of finding new stories in this ever expanding world of Star Wars.

New Book Purchase and Toy Corner: Batman/Catwoman: The Wedding Album and Funko Josie McCoy (Riverdale)

I just got back from the comic book store and thought I would post my two wonderful little finds. The first is the Batman/Catwoman: The Wedding Album. Yeah, I know I shouldn't have bought it but I guess I'm a fool because why else would I buy a collected copy of the wedding that wasn't. I don't know, I saw it and thought it seemed like a cool find.

And the second thing I found was a Funko Josie McCoy from the Riverdale TV series. She's pretty cool and apparently a limited edition figure which is why she cost slightly more than the average Funko. But I figured I would get it since I only had three books on this week's list and not to mention the last time I bought a Funko was during this year's Free Comic Book Day.

New Book Purchase: Life with Kevin issue #5

How am I just now finding out that there is a fifth issue to "Life with Kevin"? And to make it even worse this was published on January 10th. So I don't know how I missed this.

I really enjoy reading this miniseries and was hoping that the fourth issue wasn't the last since it ended with a cliffhanger. I don't know when I will read this but hopefully soon because I want to know what happens next for Kevin and I'm sure Veronica Lodge is still causing trouble as well.

New Book Purchase: American Panda, Agent of Chaos and Devil's Advocate

I haven't bought a new book since last January which is why I'm so happy to show you the books that I ordered from Barnes & Nobles' Young Adult 3 for $30 sale. They arrived in the mail yesterday.

The X-Files books have been on my wishlist for quite a while and I couldn't pass up getting them once I saw this sale. And American Panda is one of the new releases that I just couldn't wait to read. It looks like it's going to be a cute and funny coming-of-age sort of book.

New Book Purchase: Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

I was in Target yesterday picking up a few things when I spotted Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. It's been on my wishlist for a while but I had not gotten around to buying it. Until, I saw it for $7.99 and I couldn't pass up a good deal on a book. Especially if it's a book I really want to read.

I know the movie adaptation Love, Simon will be in theatres on March 16th and I would like to get this read sometime before then. I may have to re-adjust my To Read list to make that happen which is something I just might do.

New Book Purchase: The Gauntlet

With my To-Read list already exceedingly long you would think I wouldn't buy anymore books. But there are so many really cool books that are being released. And I really couldn't pass on getting The Gauntlet, it's a middle grade, fantasy-adventure.

This is why I love reading children/middle grade books because I find the stories have more creativity to them. I'm so looking forward to reading this but I have so many other books on my list that it's going to be a while before I even get this one.

Despite the cold, I finally ventured outside yesterday. And as much as I wanted to stay inside all bundled up, I can't nest all day. So after running a few errands, I ended up finding my way to the bookstore where I found The Snowman and it was on sale. I didn't see the movie but the trailer looked interesting and it made me want to read the book which I heard a lot of good things about.

New Book Purchase: Hollywood Homicide

I'm a total mystery fan and I'm always trying to find new series or new authors to read. Hollywood Homicide is a book that certainly fits that criteria. I found this book a couple of months ago and I was really interested in reading it. How could I not want to read about an aspiring actress stumbling upon a mystery and trying to solve it.

I am so happy I went to the bookstore yesterday because while I was doing a quick search through the aisles I spotted this on the shelves in the new release section. I just love finding books that I have on my wishlist. I can't wait to give this a read.

I love that more comic book characters are getting novels because as much as I love reading comic books not everyone does. However, they do love the characters and these novels could appeal to some who might not be interested in reading the comics.

I like Miles Morales, he's an interesting character and I can't wait to read this.

New Book Purchase: The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars part #1

I'm so excited I finally got my hands on this. The Legend of Korra animated series is one of my favorite shows. I love the characters and love how Korra really transformed and grew into her role as the Avatar. I'm really looking forward to reading this comic book series and hope it's just as amazing as the show.

New Book Purchase: The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower)

I know I keep adding to my To Read List but I love buying books especially when there is a sale. Yesterday, when I was at the bookstore, I noticed there was a sale on Stephen King books. There were so many of the author's books that caught my eye but in the end The Gunslinger was the one I bought because the trailer for the movie really peek my interest.

I still want to see The Dark Tower movie but since I barely have time to go to the theatre, I will most likely end up seeing it when it's out on DVD/Blu-ray.

New Book Purchase: The Bone Witch

I've been hearing so many good things about The Bone Witch and I really want to read it. The book has an interesting premise with a witch who is so different she's an outcast among other witches. It definitely seems interesting.

New Book Purchase: Sif: Even Dragons Have Their Endings

Since it's Thorsday, I can't think of a better day to post my recent new book, Sif: Even Dragons Have Their Endings. I'm so glad that Sif has this book (love the cover), she is so underappreciated. I'm still waiting for Marvel to give her an ongoing comic book series, like that will happen anytime soon.

The first book Thor: Dueling with Giants in this three book series was so good that I couldn't wait to read this second one. And not only because Sif is the main character but because first book was very well-written and the characters so well researched that I can't wait to see what author does with Sif's story.

As a ballet nerd, I'm extremely delighted that I finally bought Tiny Pretty Things. The description makes it seem like it's going to be a lot of competition and drama between the characters. I guess trying to be the best can sometimes bring out the worst in people, I really can't wait to read this.
