Book Nerd Problem: I Need to Finish Reading "To All The Boys I've Loved Before" Book Series

Happy Saturday!

I was watching the trailer for the new third season of XO, Kitty and it made me realize that not only I have not watched any season of XO, Kitty but I also haven't finished watching the To All the Boys I've Loved Before movie trilogy (I watched the first movie). My book nerd problem is that I want to finish reading the To All the Boys I've Loved Before book series by Jenny Han (I read the first book) before I finish watching the rest of the movies and the XO, Kitty TV series. It's been a while since I've finished a book series, which is why I'm so motivated to finish reading the last two books in the series. I'm not sure if I'll read the second book P.S. I Still Love You after I finish reading the Catwoman novelization by Elizabeth Hand. But I will be reading it soon.

Book of Interest: To All the Boys I've Loved Before: Special Keepsake Edition

I guess I'm in a romantic sort of mood which is understandable since it's two days before Valentine's Day. A gift you might want to pre-order for yourself is this Special Keepsake Edition of To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han. This special edition is to celebrate the book’s 10 year anniversary. It will be published on Tuesday, March 19th. It's so cute, it really does look like a notebook.

Anyone else planning on getting this? I am, I just don't know if I'll pre-order it or buy it when it's released.

Weekend Films: To All The Boys: Always and Forever and Playing Cupid

Romance is in the air this weekend and there are two movies you might want to check out: To All the Boys: Always and Forever and Playing Cupid.

Always and Forever is the third and final movie in the To All The Boys series. It's the end of Lara Jean's story and since I haven't read the third book written by Jenny Han, I have no idea how this will end. I just love the To All the Boys movies, they're so cute and romantic. I really need to finish reading the book series, I've read the first one and at some point I have to get caught up.

As for the second movie Playing Cupid, it's inspired by the classic novel Emma by Jane Austen. In the book, Emma seemed to believe she knew what was best for everyone which of course she didn't, I do wonder if that will factor into this story as well.

Let's see, if I could invite five characters to my book club, who would it be?

I've answered this type of question so many times and I tend to go with some of my usual group of fictional bookworms. So this time, I decided to choose some different characters that I would invite to my book club. There are so many I wanted to choose (I'll have to write another post) but for this one I kept it to five. And here is my answer:


1. Princess Leia Organa (Star Wars): Out of the original trio, I feel like Princess Leia would enjoy a little down time discussing books. I do wonder what type of books she would recommend reading? Would it be a sci-fi romance, something on politics or perhaps something completely different.

Book Club Picks for March: To All the Boys I've Loved Before, Green Arrow: Year One and Star Wars: Catalyst

It's the beginning of a new month and that means new book club picks. Even though I might be a little behind, my review for February's book club picks will be up this week. As for this month, I decided to go with To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han for The Book Girl's Book Club. I've seen the first two movies and absolutely loved them, however, I've never read the book. So I thought the first book in the series would be a good pick.

For the Comic Book Club I went with Green Arrow: Year One by Andy Diggle and Jock. I always found it fascinating that Oliver Queen is someone who cares about social issues, helping people and wanting to make the world a better place. I picked this book because it should be interesting to read this take on Oliver's origin story.

And for the Star Wars Book Club I picked Star Wars: Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel by James Luceno. I love Rogue One that is an amazing movie, it's one of my utmost favorites. I've wanted to read the prequel for awhile, so I figured we could read it for book club.

I don't think I ever told you guys how much I love the Netflix To All The Boys I've Loved Before movies (based on the books by Jenny Han), they're the absolute best. Lana Condor

It's still disappointing how little screen time Jubilee got in X-Men: Apocalypse, 20th Century Fox had this rising star Lana Condor and completely wasted an opportunity to give her more scenes. She was barely in the movie.

Which is why I was happy she was cast as Lara Jean in the Netflix movie "To All The Boys I've Loved Before" which is based on the book by Jenny Han. And the movie is considered one of the most watched movies on Netflix. According to reports it was noted as being the "most viewed original films ever with strong repeat viewing".

To All The Boys is such a cute little romantic comedy, I would totally recommend watching it if you haven't.
