Fandom Friday: My Favorite Smallville Black Canary Scene

I think one of my favorite Black Canary scenes in the Smallville TV series is when she was first introduced in the episode "Sirens" (season 7 episode 11). The episode opened with Chloe Sullivan stealing data from Lex Luthor to give to Green Arrow. However, Lex had a fun little surprise in store for Chloe with Black Canary showing up to retrieve his stolen property. In Dinah's defense, she was misled by Lex when he hired her, she did eventually find out the truth about him which led to an awesome fight scene between her, Green Arrow and Lex.

Anyway, I just loved the flirting between Black Canary and Green Arrow while they were facing off on the roof of the Daily Planet building. Didn't those two have amazing chemistry from the beginning? Too bad they didn't end up together, but that's a post for another day.

Art of the Day: Black Canary and Green Arrow (Smallville)

Artwork: Black Canary and Green Arrow by SpideyVille

I love watching Smallville but I can't stand that Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) was paired up with Chloe Sullivan instead of Black Canary (Dinah Laurel Lance). And Arrow which is a disappointment on all levels did the same thing by pairing up Oliver with Felicity Smoak. I don't understand how both shows could ruin the iconic relationship between Green Arrow and Black Canary.

Looking at this amazing artwork all I can think is that I want a Green Arrow and Black Canary movie.

Throwback Thursday: Green Arrow and Black Canary (Smallville)

Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) and Black Canary (Alaina Huffman) from the Smallville season 10 episode 12: Collateral (2011).

Even though this show is done and over with, I still wished Green Arrow and Black Canary had ended up together as well as they had gotten a spin-off series (with Mia included). They had this tough and edgy personality that just seemed to work but for some reason the creative team thought to pair GA with Chloe Sullivan. If anything they should have kept them as friends.

I still think these two would have been great together.

Art of the Day: Black Canary and Green Arrow

Yesterday, I watched one of my favorite ;Smallville episodes "Siren" from the seventh season, I just love the scenes with Dinah and Ollie. I love how you could see a bit of flirting early on between the two of them. But watching that episode also made me realize how much Smallville messed up their romance by pairing Oliver up with Chloe.

Chloe was so annoying and I didn't like Oliver's character development (or lack there of) when he was with Chloe. They turned him into a love sick useless character during the last three seasons. What happened to the cool character they introduced during the sixth season and that one episode during the seventh? Too bad they didn't focus more on developing the Dinah and Ollie's relationship instead of giving Chloe a boyfriend because she was single.

I hope Dinah makes an appearance in Smallville season 11 comic, too bad Oliver has been removed from the series, seems DC Comics didn't want to confuse fans with too many Oliver Queens. They must think fans are stupid, I highly doubt anyone would be confused with seeing Green Arrow in the new 52, Smallville season 11 and the Arrow TV show.

Art of the Day: Green Arrow and Black Canary

They were another one of my favorite couples and also two of my favorite characters. I love this picture because they're both smiling and look so happy to be together.

Before the reboot, Black Canary and Green Arrow had amazing personalities and good character development. However, the New 52 versions make me realize just how much better the characters used to be.

The new 52 Green Arrow and Birds of Prey comics are falling flat and I'm really thinking about dropping them from my pull list. They have not gotten any better at least for me.
