Throwback Thursday: Scarlet Witch and Vision vs Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive (Avengers: Infinity War)

I remember when I saw Avengers: Infinity War in the theatre and seeing Scarlet Witch and Vision being so caught off guard and not being able to really go up against Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive. But it was like a total pin drop when Captain America, Falcon and Black Widow showed up to save them. I think it was a combination of seeing Wanda and Vision losing so terribly to the shock of seeing who showed up to help them. Avengers: Infinity War is still one of my favorite movies, it was just so fantastic.

Throwback Thursday: Turkey Emergency (9-1-1)

I'm just checking in to see how your Thanksgiving is going. I hope everyone's having a really good day and has been spent with family and friends or you simply enjoyed the day by yourself. Anyway, I couldn't let the day go by without posting this fun Throwback Thursday video from 9-1-1.

In the fourth season seventh episode There Goes the Neighborhood, the fire fighters were called in to handle a wild turkey emergency. I wonder what caused Sunny the turkey to start attacking people. Maybe someone in the neighborhood did something to him or he felt threatened? Who knows, hopefully Sunny was simply relocated and not put down.

So, between the team dealing with treating Sunny's victims while also trying to catch him, Henrietta "Hen" Wilson was dealing with issue of her mother's unexpected arrival to town. While, Evan "Buck" Buckley was dealing with a bad date who just so happens to live in his apartment building. I just love how Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash, Howard "Chimney" Han and Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz were trying to be reassuring. But in the end, Hen and Buck were going to have to figure out their solution to their problems (even if Buck's carried over to the next episode).

Throwback Thorsday Most Memorable Scene: The Revengers vs Hela's Army (Thor: Ragnarok)

I love Thor: Ragnarok it was such an unexpected cinematic adventure from the beginning to the end. And I also love this scene with Heimdall, Korg and The Revengers (Thor, Loki, Valkyrie and Hulk) fighting Hela's army to stop Hela and rescue the Asgardians.

In the first Thor movie, Thor was so arrogant and thought he was all powerful compared with how he doubted himself and his powers in the third movie trying to stop his sister Hela. But once he realized his strength, he was able to draw upon his full powers which was visually stunning. I would have loved to have seen another movie with The Revengers they were an interesting team.

Throwback Thursday: Thor, Loki, Sif and The Warriors Three vs The Frost Giants

Happy Thursday!

I can't remember the last time I watched Thor, it's one of my favorite movie. And Sir Kenneth Charles Branagh really brought all the Shakespearean drama to this movie that's for sure.

As for this scene, I love this fight against the Frost Giants. Thor's arrogance and pride made it impossible for him to see that he (along with his brother and friends) went to Jodenheim for all the wrong reasons. It didn't help that Loki manipulated all of this to show that Thor wasn't ready to be King. Which at this point, he truly wasn't because he couldn't let the "Little Princess" insult go and walk away. No, he had to fight which was his real intention for going to Jodenheim in the first place. It didn't matter that his friends were ill prepared for a fight against the Frost Giants, he was going to fight no matter what. With the end result of him being banished to Earth or Midgard with no powers or memory but he did need to learn a lesson.

Throwback Thursday: The Train Chase (Maze Runner: The Death Cure)

It's been a while since I've watched any of The Maze Runner movies but I still remember the train chase scene from the third movie, The Death Cure. It is a really good scene. The Gladers and their friends had a plan to rescue their friend and fellow Glader Minho who was captured by WCKD at the end of the second movie, The Scorch Trials.

It was an exciting plan. Although they rescued a lot of people, the plan didn't quite work out how they intended in regards to Minho. Which required another plan that wasn't as thought out as this one but it did work.

Throwback Thursday: When I Grow Up by The Pussycat Dolls

Happy Thursday!

I totally forgot about The Pussycat Dolls and this song "When I Grow Up" which was released in 2008. Time really does fly by that's for sure. It's safe to say that The Pussycat Dolls weren't really a group since Nicole Scherzinger did most if not all of the singing. And the other ladies were only there mainly for background vocals and dancing. Anyway, here's a popular early 2000's classic song.

Throwback Thursday Photo of the Day: Actors and Writers from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Writers' and Actors' Strike)

It's sad that the Writers' and Actors' Strike is still ongoing. However, it's pretty cool to see so many of the actors and writers out there striking and letting the AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) know that they want a fair deal and will continue fighting for it. Below is a picture from August of some of the crew, writers and actors (Clark Gregg (also on strike for writing), Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton and Briana Venskus) from the TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Throwback Thursday Photo of the Day: Ryan Guzman and Oliver Stark (9-1-1)

Happy Thursday!

This is such a striking image of actors Ryan Guzman and Oliver Stark leaning on the stairs of the hotel. It was behind the scenes of the big earthquake episodes of 9-1-1 during the second season. I just love how sets of a tilted building were created for two episodes so that it looked and felt like the characters were actually in a hotel that was severely damaged from a 7.1 earthquake. This is still one of my favorite photos.

Throwback Thursday and Most Memorable Scene: Darla and Drusilla crash the Wolfram & Hart Party (Angel)

It's been a while since I've watched any episode of Angel but somehow I always remember this scene from the episode Reunion (season 2 episode 10). Because it was so shocking, I wasn't expecting Angel to have simply closed and locked the door on the sleazy, slimy, evil lawyers of Wolfram & Hart.

He's the hero, you expect him to save them even if they are horrible. But at that point those lawyers had continued to play a big role in so many terrible supernatural things happening not only in Los Angeles but in the world. Not to mention, they purposely brought back Darla thinking that would affect Angel. Which it did but not in the way they had hoped. And in the end, it cost nearly all of them in that room their lives. I believe only Lindsey McDonald and Lilah Morgan were the only ones that survived.

Total side note: Drusilla was so zany and completely out there. But if I recall, back when Angel was evil, he had tortured and tormented Drusilla before turning her into a vampire. But don't quote me on that, it's been a while since I've rewatched either Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Angel. So I'm going on memory (which I may or may not be misremembering).

Photo: Arden Cho

Since it's a rainy day, I thought these throwback 2015 pictures of actress Arden Cho on the set of Teen Wolf would be fitting. Holding a black umbrella and wearing a OnePiece camo jumpsuit, gray top and black and white Puma high top gym shoes, it looked like Arden made the best of a rainy date on set.

Video: "Journey to the Past" by Aaliyah and "Viaje Tiempo Atras" (Journey to the Past) by Thalia (Anastasia soundtrack)

Happy Throwback Thursday!

I rewatched the movie Anastasia a couple of days ago and the animation is just as wonderful as the story. I was still thinking about the movie and figured I'd post two "Journey to the Past" videos by Aaliyah and Thalia from the movie's 1997 soundtrack. The videos might be outdated visual wise but the song is still amazing. If you haven't seen Anastasia, I really recommend it.

Most Memorable Scene: Eddie and Buck take Christopher to see Santa Claus (9-1-1)

I can't believe it's three days before Christmas, the time is just going by way too fast. Anyway, here's an interesting Holiday scene from 9-1-1's season 2 episode Merry Ex-Mas. What's interesting about this scene is that earlier in the episode there was a scene where Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz was in his bedroom with his not so estranged wife Shannon and Eddie had mentioned not knowing what their son Christopher wanted for Christmas. Shannon then asked him "Did you take him [Christopher] to see Santa?". What follows was a fun little moment with Shannon making fun of Eddie being afraid of Santa when he was a kid.

Anyway, what was interesting about this was that Eddie and Shannon had been sleeping together for months but were not really technically back together. However, it seemed like they were sort of on their way to reconciling, but not quite yet. At this point, Shannon still hadn't reconciled with Christopher yet because Eddie was sort of keeping her at arms length because he wasn't sure how to re-introduce Shannon to Chris since she had been gone from their lives for nearly two years. Which is why it's interesting that Eddie didn't invite Shannon to go with him and Chris to see Santa especially since she's the one who mentioned it. Instead Eddie invited Evan "Buck" Buckley who at this point probably only known each other for only a few months (I'm not sure about the show's timeline, so I figured maybe between five to six months).

The scene in the video with Eddie and Buck waiting on Christopher to see Santa is so memorable. Because I think this would have been the perfect moment for Eddie, Chris and Shannon but no the Showrunner and writers decided to put Buck there. They were sitting so close together that it's understandable that Blair the Santa Helper Elf told Buck in that infamous scene that "You two have an adorable son". There was no point including Buck in the Santa scene nor alluding to him and Eddie being parents to Chris. See this is what fans and viewers mean when they talk about how the Showrunners and writers choose to write Buck and Eddie. The writers could have easily had Buck say that him and Eddie were not a couple and Chris was not his son. Especially since the writers had no problem doing just that in the fifth season first episode Panic when Eddie's then girlfriend Dr. Ana Flores was alluded to being Christopher's mother and she said that she wasn't his mother just a friend. So then why have Buck who's supposedly written as just a friend not correct Blair the Santa Helper Elf but have Eddie's girlfriend Ana make a point in saying she's just a friend. Funny enough, that scene with Ana being called Christopher's mother ended up causing Eddie to have a panic attack.

So in not wanting to make this any longer, here's the Eddie, Buck and Christopher scene from the second season 9-1-1 Christmas episode. Happy Holidays everyone!

Throwback Thursday: The Mob's Museum of Art Dance Scene (Step Up 4) (Video)

Ever since I rewatched all five Step Up movies, it's reignited my love for this franchise. So for this Throwback Thursday I wanted to post this video from Step Up 4: Revolution of The Mob's beautifully crafted performance. They did a great job of putting together this flash performance, it truly fit in with the art at the museum. It's performance art at it's finest.

Throwback Thursday: The Water Dance from Step Up 3

I'm really surprised that Adam Sevani's popular character Moose was never chosen as one of the leads in a Step Up movie. It was such a missed opportunity especially since Moose was in nearly all of the movies (2-5) and was such a fan favorite character.

Moose (along with his girlfriend Camille Gage who was played by Alyson Stoner) should have gotten at least a one-shot spinoff like the Fast & the Furious characters Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw got with the movie Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Well, Moose may not have been the lead but he was definitely one of the most popular characters.

Fashion Meets Star Style: Tessa Thompson

In 2018, Tessa Thompson attended the Sundance Film Festival wearing an oversized Belstaff blazer, turtleneck and a gathered waist skirt paired with Wolford black tights and Alchimia Di Ballin Nix silver booties. I like this outfit Tessa is wearing, it makes me think of a time when you could sit in the library reading for hours.

One of my favorite fashion styles or trends is Academia which I feel Tessa perfectly mastered with this look. This style which has a preppy bookish feel to it is usually very popular in the fall and winter but you can adjust the look to wear it all year round.

Throwback Thursday: Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn was photographed in her Manhattan hotel room reading the book Gigi by Colette. I've never seen this picture before now and thought I'd post it.

Throwback Thursday: Ruth Negga featured in Vogue Magazine (January 2017)

Actress Ruth Negga was in the January 2017 issue of Vogue magazine wearing colorful floral prints for both the cover and for the feature. I like the top she wore on the cover, it's really cute.

Throwback Thursday: Melissa Ponzio

You really can't go wrong with a little black dress, Melissa Ponzio wore one to The Walking Dead's 4th season premiere party at Universal CityWalk (October 3, 2013). I like this dress, the silhouette works for nearly every body type.

Throwback Thursday: Black Panther: Nakia Poster

I can't believe I didn't post this poster for Nakia back in February. The Black Panther movie did a wonderful job of showcasing some amazing characters especially the female characters. Usually most superhero movies only have maybe one or two female characters in prominent roles but Black Panther in my opinion really changed that. Nakia is an awesome character and I hope she will be in more Black Panther/MCU movies.

Throwback Thursday: Kid Flash Season 3 Promo Poster

I think this Kid Flash promo that was released for the third season of The Flash was pretty cool. And although, I'm not a fan of the Arrowverse (I think Arrow is by far the worst out of all the CW DC Comics shows) but I do adore The Flash's version of Kid Flash/Wally West (played by Keiynan Lonsdale). His character adds so much fun to the show.

I'm a little behind on watching The Flash but I did hear that Wally is now on Legends of Tomorrow, I might have to start watching it.
