365 Days of Books of Interest: Day #253 (for Sunday): The Story of Martha

I can't believe I have not read this book. I always wondered what stories Martha told of the Doctor for people around the world to believe in and be inspired by him. Martha's skills as a story teller must be very good because if there had been any doubt about her stories the Doctor would have never been restored to take on the Master.

Book: The Story of Martha (Doctor Who book #28) by Dan Abnett

Description:

For a year, while the Master ruled over Earth, Martha Jones travelled the world telling people stories about the Doctor - how he has saved them before, and how he will save them again. This is that story. It tells of Martha's travels - from her arrival on Earth as the Toclafane attacked and decimated the population through to her return to Britain to face the Master. But it's more than that. This is also a collection of the stories she tells - the stories of adventures she had with the Doctor that we haven't heard about before. The stories that inspired and saved the world!

Fashion Meets Comics: Martha Jones' Red Jacket

I had started out with the intentions of writing a Why I Admire Martha Jones or a post of that nature but I will save that for another time. Dr. Martha Jones is an awesome and amazing character, she's smart, self-reliant and curious. She may have started out as a companion to the Doctor during the third season of Doctor Who but she went on to do some amazing things including working with Captain Jack Harkness and his crew during the second season of Torchwood. For this Fashion Meets Comics post I wanted to focus on a rather signature fashion piece, her red jacket.

Art of the Day: The Doctor and Martha Jones

Artwork: Allons-y! by Anthony Wallace

I like this picture, the Doctor and Dr. Martha Jones going on another one of their crazy adventures and it has one of the little fat monsters trying to board the TARDIS. This is so cute. For those who don't know what I'm talking about the little creature at the bottom is made from fat (human fat), see season 4, episode 2 (Donna was the companion for that season).

Art of the Day: Martha Jones: Before and After Meeting the Doctor

Artwork: Martha Jones, the soldier by majigoma

Martha Jones, still one of my favorite companions to the Doctor. Martha went from optimistic medical student/doctor to transforming into this amazing warrior/soldier who saved the world and the universe. Just from meeting the Doctor and seeing the vastness of the universe as well as time travel she became this even more amazing person.
