I like this scene from the first episode because although it's a different take on how Sokka and Katara found the ice bubble that held Avatar Aang. And how he was freed, in the animated series Katara hit the ice bubble with a weapon. While in the live action, I think it was due to her waterbending to try to get their boat. Either way, Katara was the reason he was freed from the ice, it was just a bit more dramatic in the animated series.

Most Memorable Scene: The Avatar Returns (Avatar: The Last Airbender (Netflix))
I'm usually not a big fan of live-action versions of animated shows and movies but I'm trying not to be stodgy or set in my ways because I just might miss out on something. Anyway, I'm really glad I gave the live-action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender a chance because it turned out to be a really good adaptation. I'm looking forward to seeing what they will do with the second and third seasons.

My thoughts on the Netflix Avatar: The Last Airbender series
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Did you watch anything interesting?
On Sunday, I watched the Avatar: The Last Airbender live action Netflix TV series. And you know what, it turned out to be a pretty good adaptation of the original series. The first season only has eight episodes, so they couldn't show everything such as not including a moment from one of my favorite episodes The Waterbending Scroll (season 1 episode 9). But I can watch that episode anytime. (Edit to add: For some reason, I totally overlooked Katara waterbending with the scroll. I guess next time I won't watch a show so early in the morning. Yes, I am currently re-watching this.)

Avatar: The Last Airbender is still one of my favorite animated series. I loved seeing Aang become the Avatar he was meant to be while also seeing Katara grow into being a Master of Waterbending. With the Fire Nation gearing up for another plan to further its reign, there was a lot of pressure and responsibility placed on Aang, Katara and the rest of Team Avatar (Sokka, Toph and Zuko) to stop them. This really was a fantastic show.

I really like this. The Waterbending Scroll is by far one of my favorite episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It was very funny, from the Gaang to the pirates to Zuko and Uncle Iroh this was one zany episode. However, it always makes me wonder if the writers of the show forgot that Katara had stolen the scroll from the pirates in the first season. Because later on in season 3, she gave Toph such a hard time when Toph (and Aang and Sokka) were going around scamming a bunch of con artists in the episode The Runaway. After the first season, they had Katara trying too hard to be perfect but I can understand, it felt like she needed to be the one making sure everyone and everything was okay.
Anyway, Avatar: TLA continues to be one of my favorite TV shows. There are so many amazing episodes on this show that range from drama and humor and everything in between.

I guess Sokka's tired of Aang and Katara lovey-dovey romance vibes and with Toph picking her nose. I can definitely agree with Sokka on the last issue, that's just gross but she doesn't care.
