Rating: 5 stars

Review:

Cyborg volume #2 has a good balance of good story telling, humor, sci-fi and action. I love seeing all the moments between Victor and his father because they were very fun and heartwarming. The writing is good and the plot seems to be very thought out and although the writers may have changed midway, there is no difference in the writing.

Currently Reading: Cyborg vol #2 (DC You) and Hawkeye vol #4 (Marvel Now)

I was going through my books and found two I know I should have finished a while ago. I don't know how I forgot about them especially since Cyborg vol #1 was a great read and the Hawkeye series has been nothing but fun.

Comic Book Wednesday: Sept 7th Picks

Happy Comic Book Wednesday!

What's everyone picking up this week? I think my list has a pretty good selection. There are only two new books on today's list: Cyborg Rebirth and Red One #3. I like Cyborg, I'm glad he has a series for Rebirth. Although I'm still reading the last series for the New 52/DC You, I'm still going to pick this up. As for Red One, I had no idea it was even returning, it's been a year since the second issue was published.

Something I'm not quite sure is out today is Ghostbusters International but I have it on there just in case. I'll see when I get to the store.

Here's the rest of my list:

Archie Comics

Jughead #9 (Cover C - Variant Mok)

Book: Jughead #9

Description:

Sabrina makes her debut in the New Riverdale and things are about to get insane! Pop Tate's has a new mascot: it's a lady in a burger costume with a giant burger for a head! And she never takes off that giant burger head!

And she and Jughead really hit it off, probably for that very reason! But is it possible Burger Lady is more than she appears? Find out what happens when Jughead meets a burger he really likes - and a powerful and unexpected new force in Riverdale is revealed!

P.S.: that powerful and unexpected new force is Sabrina the Teenage Witch! She's the Burger Lady!

Comic Book Wednesday: August 31st Picks

Good Morning!

For the past two days I've had the theme song to Veronica Mars stuck in my head "A long time ago we used to be friends". Yeah, that's the lyric that keeps going around in my mind. I love the Veronica Mars TV series and the movie. If you haven't seen the movie please do, Veronica is at her best. They really did a great job with that movie.

Anyway, what's everyone picking up this week? My list is small with only 12 books. Can you believe Justice League of America #9 is actually out today. It was supposed to be published back on June 15th, I wonder what delayed production? Also out today is the last issue of the first volume of the miniseries, The Legend of Wonder Woman. I read the first two issues and loved them but I didn't want to read the rest until I had all the issues. It's a little weird but I usually like to wait until I have all the issues of a miniseries before reading them. But I'm trying to change that reading quirk because why wait to read books.

I do have something new on my list: The X-Files Origins. The miniseries will focus on Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as teens who find themselves in separate strange mysteries. Seems like fun.

So, here's the rest of my list:

Boom! Studios

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #6

Book: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #6

Description:

The Rangers must face a seemingly all-powerful threat entirely on their own without the guidance of Zordon. As the fate of the world hangs in the balance, Jason must lead the Rangers through these darkest of times.

Comic Book Wednesday: August 24th Picks

Good Morning and Happy Comic Book Wednesday!

What's everyone picking up this week? I have a long list of books but there is only one that's new: Blue Beetle Rebirth. Jaime Reyes is back with another series, the last one for the New 52 was cancelled. I actually enjoyed reading that Blue Beetle series (volume #1: Metamorphosis and volume #2: Blue Diamond), hopefully this one will fair much better.

Here's the rest of my list:

Archie Comics

Archie #11 (Cover A - Regular Veronica Fish Cover)

Book: Archie #11

Description:

Archie and Jughead have been playing their instruments in Archie's garage for a while, but now it's finally time for them to take their talents elsewhere. Veronica suggests that the two form a band - assuming, of course, that she gets to be their lead singer.

This bothers Betty, since music was a deep connection that she had always shared with Archie - so she'll just have to form her own rival band. Now it's #TeamArchie vs. #TeamBetty in a battle of the bands that has the whole school picking sides!

Comic Book Wednesday: August 3rd Picks

Happy Comic Book Day!

There is a new Torchwood comic book series, I'm hoping my local comic bookstore will carry it. I love that show even though I'm still disappointed that Ianto, Toshiko and Owen are no longer part of the series (long story short the characters are dead). Maybe with this comic book series, the writers who one of them happens to be John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harkness), perhaps they can find someway to bring back the others characters. Even if that doesn't happen, I'll still look forward to reading this.

The other two new books on my list are: Marvel Tsum Tsum and Harley Quinn. I've seen those little Tsum Tsum plush toys at the store but I haven't bought any. I guess I never realized how popular they are that Marvel gave them a comic book series. I'm going to try to pick up the first issue I want to see what it's about. The Harley Quinn Rebirth series starts today, since I'm still reading the New 52 series I'll pick this up and put it to the side until I get caught up.

Aside from these three new books the rest are my usual books, here's my list:

Archie Comics

Jughead #8 (Cover A - Regular Derek Charm)

Book: Jughead #8

Description:

It's Jughead vs. Archie and Mr. Weatherbee vs ...a Bear?! Even the quiet of the wilderness can't escape the madness that's raging through all of Riverdale!

Comic Book Wednesday: July 27th Picks

Happy Comic Book Wednesday!

My budget is not going to like this week's list, there are 27 books on it. Why does it seem like there is always at least one Wednesday when a big chunk of the books are released?

I don't have anything new this week just some continuations of Rebirth. As for Rebirth there is one book I'm not that thrilled about, Action Comics #960. I don't know why the fauxmance is mentioned in the description and most likely will be discussed in the book. I thought the whole point of Rebirth was to fix all the mistakes they made with the New 52 and the fauxmance in my opinion was a huge mistake. They should just let that go and pretend it never happened.

Today marks the last issue of the Dejah Thoris miniseries and it's also the last issue of the New 52/DC You Harley Quinn but she will have a new series for Rebirth.

Well, here is the rest of my list:

Archie Comics

Archie #10 (Cover B - Variant Elliot Fernandez)

Book: Archie #10

Description:

IT'S TEAM ARCHIE VS. TEAM BETTY!

A civil war has broken out in Riverdale-friends against friends, parents against parents, with the entire town torn down the middle by an event that forces everyone to take sides! No joke-the events of this issue will impact Archie and his pals for some time to come!

Comic Book Wednesday: July 6th Picks

How is everyone on this Comic Book Wednesday? I have a few upcoming reviews I will be posting and included are the first two issues of Scooby Apocalypse.

For today's list, I only have two new books: Batman '66 meets Steed and Mrs. Peel (miniseries) and The Flintstones. The rest, of course are my usual group of books.

Here's my list:

DC Comics

Aquaman #2

Book: Aquaman #2

Description:

'THE DROWNING,' Chapter Two:

In issue #2, unity between land and sea is Arthur Curry's greatest dream. But Black Manta has a dream too: to destroy everything Aquaman stands for, starting with the sea king's Atlantean embassy and everyone in it.

Comic Book Wednesday: June 29th Picks

Good Morning! It's another Comic Book Wednesday, what's everyone picking up this week?

I have nothing new on my list today just my regulars. However, Captain America: Steve Rogers is still on there. I'm trying to see if this series will eventually make sense or simply turn out to be a waste of money and time. I really don't want Cap to be a Hydra agent.

The final issue of X-Men: Worst X-Man Ever is out today. I haven't read any of the issues of this miniseries, I wanted to wait until I had all the issues before reading it.

Anyway, here's the rest of my list:

DC Comics

Book: Grayson Annual #3

Description:

Determined to find out the identity of Spyral’s Agent 37, detective Jim Corrigan gathers a collection of heroes who have seen the swirl-faced spy in order to hear their accounts. With guest appearances by Harley Quinn, Azrael, John Constantine and Green Lantern Simon Baz, get ready for some of Dick Grayson’s greatest hits!

Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Comic Book Wednesday: June 22nd Picks

What is everyone picking up this week?

My list is a little long with 20 books but only one new book and that is the Deadpool vs Gambit miniseries. Deadpool is still not one of my favorite characters but Gambit is, so I couldn't pass on reading this.

Here's the rest of my list:

Archie Comics

Archie #9 (Cover C - Variant Andrew Robinson)

Book: Archie #9

Description:

Archie is forever barred from Lodge Manor! Now Veronica has to live in Archie's world if she wants to see him -- and she's turning the whole Andrews family upside-down!

Wednesday, June 15, 2016

Comic Book Wednesday: June 15th Picks

Happy Comic Book Wednesday!

You know what that means new books and more DC Comics Rebirth books. The new books on my lists are Titans Rebirth #1, Han Solo (miniseries) and Vote Loki.

As much as I'm not a fan of the look of Scooby Apocalypse, I am a big Scooby-Doo fan and I at least wanted to know what's going on in the series. So, I picked up the first issue and will get the second one this week (I also added it to my pull list).

The last issues of the miniseries Klaus and Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death are out today.

Here is the rest of my list:

Archie Comics

Book: Betty and Veronica Summer Annual #244

Description:

On a fateful trip to the beach, Betty and Veronica accidentally release a genie from her bottle, and she's willing to grant them three wishes. Will they get everything they want? Or will they wish they had never met her in the first place? Find out in 'Sand-Wishes,' the fun, new lead story to this summer annual-featuring even more pages of fun in the sun!

Wednesday, June 8, 2016

Good Morning and Happy Comic Book Wednesday!

What's everyone picking up this week?

I only have 14 books this week with mainly new books from the DC Comics Rebirth: Action Comics, Aquaman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and more. As for other new books, I know the Lumberjanes/Gotham Academy miniseries starts today but I will be picking it up in the trade edition.

Surprisingly, I have nothing on my list from Marvel, I usually have at least one book from them. Maybe when I go to the comic book store I might see a book that interest me.

Here's my list:

Archie Comics

Archie Comics Double Digest #269

Comic Book Wednesday: June 1st Picks

Happy Comic Book Wednesday!

What's everyone picking up this week?

My list is very small with only ten 11 books (Oops, I forgot to include All-New Wolverine). I only have four new ones which are: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Pink Ranger #1 (miniseries), Batman Rebirth, Green Arrow Rebirth and Superman Rebirth.

I'm looking forward to reading the Pink Ranger miniseries but I do hope the other Rangers will get a miniseries as well.

Here's my list:

Archie Comics

Jughead & Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #21

Book: Jughead and Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #21

Comic Book Wednesday: May 25th Picks

I love Wednesdays, that's because it's the day that new comics are available. And this week, I have quite a group of books, okay I have whopping total of 26 books on my list. Yes, that is correct, I said 26 books but in my defense, most of the DC Comics series are ending today.

Today also marks the official start of DC Rebirth, hopefully the excitement hasn't been spoiled too much by all the spoilers out there. I'm actually really looking forward to reading this.

Something else I'm looking forward to reading is Captain America: Steve Rogers, it will be interesting to see Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, Sharon Carter and Bucky all working together. If that is indeed what the cover is showing me.

Well, here's my list, what is everyone picking up this week?

Archie Comics

Betty & Veronica Friends Comics Double Digest #248

Book: Betty and Veronica Friends Comics Double Digest #248

Description:

Comic Book Wednesday: May 18th Picks

Happy Comic Book Wednesday!

Today marks the end of some of the series before the start of Rebirth as well as two miniseries that are ending: Titans Hunt and Superman: American Alien. I only have one new book on today's list: Future Quest. I'm interested to see how these classic characters are written. Hopefully, they're still in character.

I know Civil War II also starts today but I'm going to wait to pick it up in the trade edition.

Here's the rest of my list:

Archie Comics

Jughead #6 (Regular Cover A Henderson)

Comic Book Wednesday: May 11th Picks

Another Wednesday, Another Week of Comics!

What's everyone picking up this week? Last week, I was disappointed because I thought the Black Panther had sold out but apparently it was moved to this week.

Today marks the last issue Catwoman, this series has endured a lot of mishaps and mishandling and just when it finally feels like Catwoman is back on track it's ending. And so far there has been no news as to whether she will have a new series for Rebirth. It's also the last issue of Starfire.

A book I was surprised to see out this week is George Perez's Sirens, it seems like forever since an issue was published. There is only one new book on my list, Adventures of Supergirl, although I'm not a fan of the show, I am interested in reading the comic.

Archie Comics

Archie #8 (Cover A - Reg Veronica Fish)

Book: Archie #8

Description:

Veronica's father (and Archie's arch-nemesis!), Hiram Lodge, is running for Mayor of Riverdale! But will he save, and even improve the town - or will he destroy it? Find out in this next installment of the hottest comic of the year!

Happy Comic Book Wednesday!

What's everyone picking up this week? My list is beyond full, I have 24 books on today's list and I think I just might scream. Why are there so many interesting books out?

Only three new books out today that I can't wait to read, starting first with Strawberry Shortcake (based on the Berry Bitty City animated series version), The X-Files (it's based on the recent TV miniseries) and Year of Marvels Amazing.

I really need to cut back on my books because whenever I'm at the comic book store I'm always the only person standing in line with a stack of books. Anyway, here's my list.

It's that time of the week again, Comic Book Wednesday. This week's list has a lot of Superman (with three books) and the rest are mostly my regular books. There is only one new book Captain America: Road to War. I believe it's a one-shot. I also have Howard the Duck #6 but that's only because it's part of the crossover with Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.

What's everyone picking up this week?
