Trick or Treat! How are you celebrating the holiday? Are you dressing up? Are you watching scary movies? It's not really a party but me and few friends are going watch some scary movies and some TV show episodes while eating popcorn, candy and other snacks. And speaking of watching TV shows, for this geeky Halloween list I went with Halloween or spooky, eerie, supernatural sort of episodes of procedural shows. Because everyday life can be just a frightful as a horror movie.

Happy Election Day! (+ a Geeky Holiday List)

I know it's been said countless times but it's really important that we vote and elect people who will make good changes to protect people, the environment and so much more. There are a lot of candidates who want to harm so many people and take away even more of our rights. That's why you have to really know who you're voting for and not just for President. Which is why the Mid-Term Elections are also very important.

I hope everyone who can, will vote or have voted earlier. These elections are too important to sit out. To add a little fun to the day, I have a Geeky Holiday TV List of political or election episodes. For more shows and movies, here are my other two lists (1 and 2).

Happy Halloween!

It's the final day of the month and one of the best since it's Halloween. Did you celebrate over the weekend or are you planning something for today? The only thing I did over the weekend was go to my favorite bookstore on Saturday because there was a fun little Halloween themed event and sale (I got a few books). Later that night, I went over to my friend's house for a mini horror movie marathon. So tonight, I'm just going to relax at home and watch TV while eating some Halloween candy.

And speaking of watching TV, for this geeky Halloween list, I kind of went old school/retro/modern classics for most of the picks. Hopefully, there's something on the list that will interest someone. Book of Interest: A Date With Murder (Murder, She Wrote)

I love reading and watching mysteries and one of my favorite TV series is Murder, She Wrote. It's a classic and I believe I've seen nearly every episode with there being a few that I still haven't seen. Even though I keep seeing so many of the books that interest me, I have yet to read any of the Murder, She Wrote books. One of these days, I plan on reading this series but for now here is another book that I'll add to my wishlist.

365 Days of Books of Interest: Day #5: Gin & Daggers (Murder, She Wrote book #1)

I love watching Murder, She Wrote but for some reason I've never read any of the books. The TV series (as well as the books) follow Jessica Fletcher who went from retired English teacher to best selling mystery writer and amateur sleuth. I always find it interesting that whether at home in Cabot Cove or traveling the world, no matter where Jessica goes, she seem to always find herself involved in a mystery.

I'm interested in starting the book series which is why I picked the first book as today's Book of Interest.

Thanksgiving will be here in a few days and besides being a day for being thankful it's also a great day for reading.

Review:

This was a light and easy read that I thought was inspirational especially for those who want to getting into writing, specifically in TV or movies. The book focused on Peter Fischer's career as it takes him from his first endeavor, a TV Movie of the Week to all his hits and misses along the way to Murder, She Wrote.

There were a few parts I found boring but I would say that was probably due to the fact that I was unfamiliar with the actors or TV shows that the author was talking about. This book is filled with a lot of interesting moments as well as a few sad ones that pertained to the deaths of his brother and many of his friends as the years started to go by.

Overall, this was a fun and lighthearted slightly gossipy book that gives you an interesting look at what goes on behind the scenes to how TV shows and made-for-TV movies get made. You also get a bit of insight into some of the actors that he had worked with. Although, most of the Murder, She Wrote stuff was left for near the end of the second half of the book, this was still a good read.

As a fan of the TV show Murder, She Wrote, I figured this would be an interesting read.

Is Hollywood Running out of Ideas? Two TV Shows Being Rebooted

Hollywood really must be running out of ideas if "Charmed" and "Murder, She Wrote" are getting rebooted. They are really not that old. Instead of Hollywood creating something new and original they decide to rehash TV shows. Why? That just screams how pathetic they are. 

The new reboot for Charmed has really made quite a lot of fans mad and besides the fans being disappointed, the actresses from the original series are as well. According to MSN, Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan will not be supporting this new series. The rebooted Charmed will air on CBS.

As for Murder, She Wrote the remake will star Octavia Spencer and will air on NBC. The original series starred Angela Lansbury as the mystery writer/mystery solver Jessica Fletcher.

As a fan of both shows I really can't see new actresses playing these roles. As of now, I don't plan on watching the new Charmed but I may give the new Murder, She Wrote a chance (well I'm going to at least see if the first episode will be any good).
