I'm wishing a Happy Labor Day to everyone who works be it from home or outside the home. We should congratulate ourselves and others for all that we do. How are you going to celebrate this holiday? Are you going to spend time with your family and friends? Or relax at home? Or are you going to check out the sales? Or did you celebrate over the weekend because you have to work today?
However you celebrate the day I hope everyone will have a Happy Labor Day!
Just in time for Black History Month, there is a new Peanuts special, Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin.
Okay, how cute is this. It looks like it's going to be a fantastic and adorable feel-good story that will let viewers get to know more about Franklin. Being new and trying to make new friends can be difficult but when you do end up making friends, it's a wonderful experience. And that looks like what will happen with Franklin in this story. I can't wait to see this.
I really enjoyed watching the last special One-of-a-Kind Marcie and this looks like it's going to be good too. Welcome Home, Franklin will premiere Friday, February 16th on Apple TV.
Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin
Description:
The origin story for one of Peanuts’ most beloved characters, Franklin, follows how he approaches making new friends. Franklin’s family is always on the move with his dad’s military job, and everywhere he goes Franklin finds support in a notebook filled with his grandfather’s advice on friendship.
But when Franklin tries his usual strategies with the Peanuts gang, he has trouble fitting in. That’s until he learns about the neighborhood Soap Box Derby race. According to his grandfather, everyone loves a winner! He’s sure that winning the race will also mean winning over some new friends. All he needs is a partner, which he finds in Charlie Brown. Franklin and Charlie Brown work together to build a car and in the process become good buddies. But as the race nears, the pressure mounts — can their car and their newfound friendship make it to the finish line?
Happy Monday and Good Morning (or whatever time of the day you're reading this)!
I love the Peanuts, they're a group of weird little characters that I just love. And there's a new TV special that I want to see,Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie. It will premiere on Friday, August 18th on Apple TV+. It's so cool that Marcie is getting her own special.
And while Marcie (does she have a last name) is usually shown as the sidekick to her best friend Patricia "Peppermint Patty" Reichardt, I think it will be interesting to see how this special will focus on her. As well as how she helps her friends, albeit in the background. Marcie might be a quiet, practical and levelheaded character but she also has plenty of wacky and zany moments as well. For instance, watch the special It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown because she does so many zany things in that. According to the description, it looks like she may find herself in the spotlight and I guess we'll see how she will handle it. I can't wait to see this special.
Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie (Apple TV+)
Description:
Quiet, kindhearted introvert Marcie has lots of brilliant ideas to help her friends achieve goals and solve problems. But when the world takes notice and the spotlight lands on her, sharing those ideas becomes a challenge.
Want to keep your mind nimble and quick? The answer is to learn or try something new. I think sometimes we get stuck in our ways and don't step out of our comfort zone to try or learn new things. It keeps us stagnant and not growing and experiencing new things. According to research, it doesn't matter what new things we try, our brain will benefit from it. And plus, you don't even have to be good at it, the main thing is simply to learn something new.
So whether you're trying to learn a new language, learn to play music, learn about new topics or subjects, try a new sport or exercise, a video game, a recipe, reading a different genre, seeing a play, watch a new (or new to you) show or trying new hobbies in general. There are so many things we could learn about or try and the good thing is, it can all increase our cognitive ability. So take the time and try or learn something new. Why not start today, what's something new you would like to learn or try?
There's this fun book challenge going around where you post a picture of books that match the color of a mug. I love books and mug, so I thought I'd join the challenge and post something too. I went with two blue mugs because the six books that I ended up picking from my shelves were a combination of both blues.
Today marks the first official day of summer, and I'm so excited for all the amazing and wonderful things to do in this sunny season! Do you have any plans for the summer? Any summer trips or fun adventures? Books you're planning to read? Well, however you plan on celebrating or enjoying the summer, I hope you have a really good time.
I included a Summer themed Geeky TV and Movie List. But instead of a one list, I going to post more throughout the summer. So, if you're looking for any summer themed episodes or movies to watch, keep an eye out for more lists. On today's Geeky Summer List is Gilmore Girls, I tried to included as many summery episodes that I could remember. If I've missed any episodes let me know and I'll add it.
I woke up this morning and looked out the window, it snowed over night and it's still snowing. I guess it's fitting for the first day of December.
How are you planning on enjoying this last month of 2020? At the moment, I don't have anything in mind except for keeping things simple and try my best to enjoy life. This is has been such a stressful time for everyone, I really just want us all to enjoy it as best we can and hope that things will get better for this month and next year.
Before I forget, I'm restarting my book club. My next post will have the picks for the month. Aside from that I hope everyone will have a good December.
However you plan on celebrating Halloween, make sure to eat plenty of candy and other treats, watch scary movies and TV shows and most importantly have a lot of fun. Also, tonight is a full blue moon, don't forget to look up at the sky tonight.
With the current state of the country and the world, at time it may seem difficult to feel happy let alone for the holiday. Which is why I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter and a Happy belated start to Passover (which I should have posted something for it sooner). No matter how you're celebrating the holiday, from indoor egg hunts to calling or video chat with family and friends, I really just want everyone to be happy and safe.
With nearly everyone continuing to stay home, I figured it would be a good time to include a fun list of Easter and Passover TV show episodes and movies. I do have two on this list that are probably stretching it holiday wise but I chose episodes from the 1960s Batman TV series the feature the villainous Egghead and the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark because Dr. Jones was looking for the legendary religious artifact the Ark of the Covenant.
What's your favorite things to do for Labor Day? I usually enjoy staying in and relaxing especially since the last two weeks have been hectic and I could use the time to unwind. I also plan on going to visit my family and spend some time hanging out with them.
No big holiday plans for me except relaxing. So, I want to wish everyone a Happy Labor Day! especially to anyone who has to work today.
I know Lucy van Pelt's love for Schroeder borders on the extreme but I think they could potentially be a good couple perhaps once she mellows out and stops bothering him. Which would probably happen years later once she's in high school (or some time later) and by then perhaps she has applied some of the psychology she has doled out to her friends over the years to herself.
As for Schroeder, perhaps if she's not constantly pestering him, they could finally become friends. It might takes several years for that happen and maybe later down the line it could possibly lead to romance. She does really like him but her obsessive behavior makes him not want to be anywhere near her which is easy to understand.
After reading "The Blood of Olympus" by Rick Riordan, I'm going to take a reading break over the weekend. So when I start a new book on Monday, it will feel like a relaxing mini vacation. Well, at least I hope so but I know how restless I can get when I'm not reading.
Does this happen to anyone else who reads a lot of books? Do you feel restless if you're not reading? I know my restlessness is mainly to not knowing what to do with all of my extra time, so I end up feeling restless and trying to find something to do. Which should be easy to do since there are plenty of things I could do such going outside and enjoying nature, spending time with my family and friends, getting caught up on my TV shows and movies, creating art and so much more.
I guess I'll see how the weekend goes, hopefully I won't be as bored and tired as Woodstock is in this picture.
Are you looking for some easy tips to becoming greener. Well, here are some my all time favorite things to do:
1. Use tote bags, from grocery shopping (make sure you use big and sturdy bags for this) to small purchases, tote bags make it easy to step away from plastic bags.
2. Turn off the lights, water, TV and other tech/gadgets when not in use.
3. Use a reusable water bottle or travel mug instead of disposable bottles or cups.
4. Instead of spraying air freshener, open a window to let in fresh air.
5. Whenever possible please Reuse and Recycle instead of throwing things away.
I think the world is an amazing, diverse and wonderful place. So, remember to treat the planet with love and respect each and everyday. Happy Earth Day!
Happy Easter! I hope everyone is having a fantastic day that's filled with baskets full of treats and good moments with family and friends.
I usually create my Christmas list of the TV shows and movies that I plan to watch for the holiday. And I figured why not do one for some of the other holidays, here is my Easter list which includes a few movies and TV shows such as Alvin and the Chipmunks, Curious George, Charlie Brown, Winnie the Pooh and Batman.
I know it may seem like a stretch having Batman on the list but I'm going to watch the villain Egghead's episodes.
Fall is officially here. I must admit I'm already looking forward to enjoying the chilly days curled up on the sofa reading a good book and drinking a cup of tea or apple cider.
As horrible as the world is sometimes you have to take a minute to regroup and take care of yourself or you'll be in no good shape to help anyone else. Here are a few of the things I've been doing today for Lazy Sunday:
- Spending time with my dear old dad. Well, it is Father's Day but I enjoy spending time with him no matter what day it is.
- Reading: I'm nearly finished with Pride & Porter and should have the review up soon. I also read a good amount of The City of the Dead.
- Watching TV: There's a Silver Spoon marathon on Antenna TV, it goes until 11:30 pm EST -- I just love watching old TV shows.
Happy Lazy Sunday! Make sure you take time for yourself and don't forget to drink plenty of water.
