On My List: October 20th

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a good weekend. It's been a while since I've posted an On My List and I have so many things that I want to post. But here is just a small list of what I want to read and watch.

Book on my TBR (To Be Read) List that I Want to Read Soon:

I'm slowly but surely making my way through my TBR List but there are just so many books on it. And one that I plan to read soon is The Paleontologist by Luke Dumas. The description immediately drew me in because it's a supernatural/sci-fi mystery with the possibility that a dinosaur or the ghost of one is behind the mystery. Or is it something much more human? It seems like an interesting story and one that I can't wait to read.

Trailer: Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

How am I just now finding out that there is a new Wallace & Gromit movie. Apparently, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl premiered on Friday, January 3rd on Netflix and I'm just now finding out about it. Anyway, I can't wait to watch this, it's a sequel to the animated short Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers which is where Wallace & Gromit first met that penguin Feathers McGraw who turned out to be a thief. And it looks like he's back to seek his revenge against them. Okay, why does that scene at the end of the trailer remind me of The Penguin and his lair from the Batman Returns movie.


Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (Netflix)

Netflix movie Nimona is available for a limited time to watch free on YouTube

The Netflix movie Nimona, which is based on the graphic novel of the same name by ND Stevenson, is now available to watch on YouTube for free. The movie is nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film and will be available to watch until Monday, February 26th. I wish I had known about this sooner so I could posted it earlier. Either way, I'm glad I could post it for anyone who didn't know about it. Or for anyone who doesn't have Netflix but wanted to watch the movie.

Although I have Netflix, I just haven't gotten around to watching Nimona. I also want to get the book to read as well. Here is the link to the movie and I also posted it below.

Just in time for Black History Month, there is a new Peanuts special, Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin.

Okay, how cute is this. It looks like it's going to be a fantastic and adorable feel-good story that will let viewers get to know more about Franklin. Being new and trying to make new friends can be difficult but when you do end up making friends, it's a wonderful experience. And that looks like what will happen with Franklin in this story. I can't wait to see this.

I really enjoyed watching the last special One-of-a-Kind Marcie and this looks like it's going to be good too. Welcome Home, Franklin will premiere Friday, February 16th on Apple TV.

Weekend Films: Five Nights at Freddy's and Inspector Sun

Happy Saturday, it's the weekend before Halloween! And it's Weekend Films, what movies are going to watch?

There are two I want to see: Five Nights at Freddy's and Inspector Sun. First is Five Nights at Freddy's, it's a horror movie based on a video game. Although I play video games, I'm not a big gamer which is probably why I never heard of the video game. Anyway, the movie looks good with haunted animatronics. And it looks like security guard Mike's daughter might be in danger.

The second is Inspector Sun, is an animated film that centers around a spider detective trying to solve a mystery on a plane. I love a good mystery and this looks so cute and fun. It's like a classic mystery but with insects, how could I not want to see it?

Trailer: Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie

Happy Monday and Good Morning (or whatever time of the day you're reading this)!

I love the Peanuts, they're a group of weird little characters that I just love. And there's a new TV special that I want to see, Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie. It will premiere on Friday, August 18th on Apple TV+. It's so cool that Marcie is getting her own special.

And while Marcie (does she have a last name) is usually shown as the sidekick to her best friend Patricia "Peppermint Patty" Reichardt, I think it will be interesting to see how this special will focus on her. As well as how she helps her friends, albeit in the background. Marcie might be a quiet, practical and levelheaded character but she also has plenty of wacky and zany moments as well. For instance, watch the special It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown because she does so many zany things in that. According to the description, it looks like she may find herself in the spotlight and I guess we'll see how she will handle it. I can't wait to see this special.


Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie (Apple TV+)

Description:

Quiet, kindhearted introvert Marcie has lots of brilliant ideas to help her friends achieve goals and solve problems. But when the world takes notice and the spotlight lands on her, sharing those ideas becomes a challenge.

Trailer: Resident Evil: Death Island

The battle against zombies continues in Resident Evil: Death Island animated movie. What seems like separate investigations turns into one horrifying fight for survival at Alcatraz. Although this is the fourth animated movie, I don't think you need to have watched the other three movies (Degeneration, Damnation and Vendetta) or the animated miniseries Infinite Darkness to see Death Island. But they are worth watching if you haven't seen them.

I believe this is the second movie that Claire Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine have been in together, the first was the live-action movie Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. I really can't wait to see Resident Evil: Death Island which will be released on DVD/Blu ray Tuesday, July 25th.

I love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and each adaptation always brings something different. And this upcoming new animated movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem seems to continue that. This looks like it's going to be a fun movie. Although, I do wish it was something that aired on TV, I don't know it just feels like a TV movie. Anyway, I can't wait to see this which will be in theatres on August 4th.

Happy Throwback Thursday!

I rewatched the movie Anastasia a couple of days ago and the animation is just as wonderful as the story. I was still thinking about the movie and figured I'd post two "Journey to the Past" videos by Aaliyah and Thalia from the movie's 1997 soundtrack. The videos might be outdated visual wise but the song is still amazing. If you haven't seen Anastasia, I really recommend it.

Weekend Films: Knock at the Cabin, Sweeter Than Chocolate and The Amazing Maurice

Happy Saturday!

February is the month of Black History, Love, Cold Weather and of course new movies. What movies are you watching this weekend? There are three that I'm interested in seeing: Knock at the Cabin, Sweeter Than Chocolate and The Amazing Maurice.

The first movie, Knock on the Cabin seems terrifying because you don't know if the people who showed up at your cabin are telling the truth or not about preventing the apocalypse. And if they are, would you be able to sacrifice one of your family members to save the world? Or do you let the world end?

As for the second movie, Sweeter Than Chocolate, it's a romantic comedy centering around chocolates that bring true love. Whether that's true or not, a reporter finds interest in the story and the chocolatier. The last movie, The Amazing Maurice is an animated movie that seems like a fun take on the old pied piper tale. It's centered around a talking cat, his rat friends and his piper friend who have been pulling off cons when they stumble upon something sinister.

All three movies seems very interesting: apocalyptic horror, chocolate and romance and a fairy tale. What movies are you watching this weekend?

I loved the first Spider-Man animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, from the story to the animation, it was just amazing. And I hope this second movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be just as good, if not better. The movie will be in theatres June 2, 2023, I can't wait to see it.

Trailer: Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! movie

Warner Bros. Discovery may have shelved the SCOOB sequel SCOOB!: Holiday Haunt but as a Scooby-Doo fan there is still something new to look forward to seeing. There's a new Halloween movie, Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! that will be out Digital on Tuesday, October 4th and on DVD Tuesday, October 18th. The animation style reminds me of the most recent Scooby-Doo animated series Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?

I don't believe this is a sequel to the 2020 Scooby-Doo Halloween movie Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! or a continuation from Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, I think it's just another stand alone film. Regardless, I can't wait to see this.

With so many movies that are constantly being released there are bound to be some that I've missed. And here are six movies that I missed seeing or didn't know about when they were orginally released that I plan on watching real soon: Master, Not Okay, Prey, Secret Headquarters, The Black Phone and The Sea Beast.

Let's see there's two horror (Master and The Black Phone), a dramedy (Not Okay) and three action adventure (Prey, Secret Headquarters and The Sea Beast). That's a nice little variety of movies. Are there any movies that you missed but plan to watch?

Hiatus Watch: LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation

Thankfully, summer is not over, because there are still some new and fun things to watch. Such as the new LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation special which premiered today on Disney Plus. I loved the previous specials: LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special and LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales, both are a must watch for me. I love the specials because they're funny and lighthearted yet still feel like Star Wars. I'm really looking forward to watching this new one.

Weekend Film: Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie

I know I'm a day early for Weekend Films but I didn't want anyone to miss this movie.

To me, there's never enough Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I have been waiting patiently for the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and now it's finally premiering today on Netflix. This movie feels like a fun little nod to the Terminator franchise and I just love it.

I can't wait to watch this movie. I know some TMNT fans didn't like the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series because of the animation style but it's (or was, since it was cancelled by Nickelodeon) a really fun and interesting action-packed series. Which is why I do hope some of those fans will at least take a chance and watch the movie because it looks like it's going to be good.

Weekend Films: A Splash of Love, DC League of Super-Pets, Purple Hearts and Vengeance

What can say about the new movies out this weekend? Well, there's two romance movies: A Splash of Love, a hallmark romantic comedy centered around whales and Purple Hearts a Netflix romantic drama about a marriage of convenience that may turn real. There's also DC League of Super-Pets, an animated DC Comics movie about Krypto the Super Dog and the other super pets. And last is Vengeance, a mystery comedy centered around a podcaster trying to possibly solve a murder.

Weekend Films: Campfire Christmas, Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank and Persuasion

Yay, it's the weekend! Although I'm going to see Thor: Love and Thunder today, there are three new movies that I still want to watch: Campfire Christmas, Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank and Persuasion. The first is a Hallmark Christmas movie it's a romantic comedy that centers around a group of friends celebrating the holiday at camp. I'm still not in the Christmas spirit, so I'll tape it and watch it later.

Second is the animated movie Paws of Fury about a dog who wants to become a samurai. This looks like a fun movie, can't wait to see it. Last is the Netflix movie Persuasion which is based on the classic Jane Austen novel. It does seem like there a few changes from the original novel but it still seems like an interesting movie.

It's the weekend! What movies are you watching? There's two new ones that I'm interested in seeing: Minions: The Rise of Gru and Mr. Malcolm's List. I absolutely love the minions, I never get tired of them. Which is why I want to see the latest movie, Minions: The Rise of Gru, it's a prequel to the Despicable Me movies. And it seems like it'll be really good.

As for the second movie, Mr. Malcolm's List, although it's based on the book of the same title written by Suzanne Allain, it has a Jane Austen feel to it. The trailer really has me interested in seeing it because the story seem very intriguing.

It's the weekend, Happy Saturday!

What movies are you watching this weekend? Haven't decided. Well, here are four movies you might want to watch: Lightyear, Mid-Century, Moriah's Lighthouse and Spiderhead.

There's two that are sci-fi: the Disney animated movie Lightyear and the Netflix movie Spiderhead, one that's a romantic comedy: the Hallmark movie Moriah's Lighthouse and one that's horror: Mid-Century. It should be something here that interest you or maybe you'll find something else to watch. Whatever you end up watching, I hope you really enjoy it.
