Photo of the Day: Hudson Williams

This picture of actor Hudson Williams feels like an ad for a luxury chess board set or a poster for a movie about a chess player. Which reminds me that I still haven't watched The Queen's Gambit miniseries. I also want to get the book of the same name by Walter Tevis. Not sure if I want to read the book first then watch the show or vice versa. Anyway, I saw this picture of Hudson and thought it looked like the perfect shot. This is just a really good picture.

Fashion Meets Fandom: Photo of the Day: 9-1-1 cast behind the scene of eighth season Halloween episode

The 9-1-1 Halloween episode Masks (season 8 episode 5) was a mix of fun and danger. I know the episode has gotten mixed reviews but it was interesting. From the fire station Halloween party gone wrong to Buck's curse to Hen's son Denny nearly dying, it was a full experience.

For more of my thoughts on this episode, I also wrote two posts on my other blog Truly Outrageous Buck and Eddie: Most Memorable Scene: Eddie's reaction to Buck's face (9-1-1) and Fan Theory about how Buck got the boils in the 9-1-1 episode Masks.

As for the Photo of the Day, I love seeing all the details for the characters' costumes. There's Werewolf Eddie who has on a rather gangster type look with a black fancy vest, pants and dress shoes. Dracula Bobby with a classic look paired with gym shoes. Mad Scientist Hen in a chic and trendy all white attire, combat boots and colorful hair and makeup. Cowboy Buck with a touch of lumberjack, has a very 80s look with a red plaid shirt, bandana, jeans and boots. And last is Friday the 13th Jason Voorhees Chimney, he has the 80s slasher look down perfectly with the classic hockey mask paired with a green utility jumpsuit. They look absolutely spooktacular.

Cast from L to R: Ryan Guzman (Werewolf Eddie), Peter Krause (Dracula Bobby), Aisha Hinds (Mad Scientist Hen), Oliver Stark (Cowboy Buck) and Kenneth Choi (Friday the 13th Jason Voorhees Chimney)

Photo: Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman (Entertainment Weekly)

I remember how excited fans were for the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Especially when this picture of the characters: Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman from the movie were on the cover of Entertainment Weekly's July 2015 Special Comic-Con Double issue.

I'll be honest I wasn't that thrilled about seeing Batman v Superman especially after my disappointment after watching the movie Man of Steel. And not to mention the trailer for Batman v Superman didn't really sell me, however the teaser trailer initially did. Yet, there was something about this movie I was still excited to see and that was Wonder Woman. This was going to be the character's first appearance in a big screen live-action movie. And I couldn't wait to see it. But once I did, yeah, it was not the best.

Fans had been waiting for years to finally see these three characters on the big screen together. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice should have been The Superhero movie instead all that potential was wasted. I will say the theatrical version of this movie had moments where it was good but it felt like they were trying to do too much in one movie. And edited out things that should have been included which is why I prefer the extended version of the movie. It's much better even though there is still too much happening but this version added more to the story. Anyway, I still love this cover photo from the magazine, I found the textless version to post.

Throwback Thursday Photo of the Day: Actors and Writers from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Writers' and Actors' Strike)

It's sad that the Writers' and Actors' Strike is still ongoing. However, it's pretty cool to see so many of the actors and writers out there striking and letting the AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) know that they want a fair deal and will continue fighting for it. Below is a picture from August of some of the crew, writers and actors (Clark Gregg (also on strike for writing), Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton and Briana Venskus) from the TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Actors' Strike: Tracie Thoms and Aisha Hinds (Photo) and Dermot Mulroney (Video)

Yesterday (August 25th), actresses Tracie Thoms and Aisha Hinds along with so many other actors and supporters were striking at Disney. I do love that the actors (and writers) are keeping their spirit and morale up while they continue their fight for better contracts, residuals and working conditions. Below is a video of actor Dermot Mulroney talking about some key issues surrounding the Actors' and Writers' strike.

Throwback Thursday Photo of the Day: Ryan Guzman and Oliver Stark (9-1-1)

Happy Thursday!

This is such a striking image of actors Ryan Guzman and Oliver Stark leaning on the stairs of the hotel. It was behind the scenes of the big earthquake episodes of 9-1-1 during the second season. I just love how sets of a tilted building were created for two episodes so that it looked and felt like the characters were actually in a hotel that was severely damaged from a 7.1 earthquake. This is still one of my favorite photos.

Photo of the Day: Gina Torres (Actors' Strike)

I like this picture of actress Gina Torres, who was striking at FOX Studios on Friday (August 11th). Because despite the circumstances of the Strike, she looks so happy. I guess why be miserable, the only thing that will do is make a bad situation even worse.

Photo of the Day: Zoë Kravitz and Robert Pattinson

It's been a while since I've watched The Batman. But I saw this picture of Zoë Kravitz and Robert Pattinson and it made me think of rewatching the movie. What did you think of The Batman? Did you like or not like this take on the Batman universe?

Photo of the Day: Writers' and Actors' Strike (9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star)

On Monday (July 17th), some of the cast and crew of 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star were out there striking with their fellow actors and writers in Los Angeles. I really like this picture, they look determined, positive and tired. I do hope the writers and actors will eventually get a good and fair contract and everyone in the industry can go back to work.

Also, there is a non-profit SAG-AFTRA Foundation set up to provide donations. Because many if not most of the actors are or will be in need of help. Especially since most actors don't make a lot of money while trying to pursue their careers. So if you can, please make a donation to either the SAG-AFTRA Foundation or the Entertainment Community Fund.

From L to R: Gina Torres (Actress, 9-1-1: Lone Star), Aisha Hinds (Actress, 9-1-1), Oliver Stark (Actor, 9-1-1), Peter Krause (Actor and Executive Producer, 9-1-1), Andrew Meyers (Writer and Producer, 9-1-1) and Keith Tripler (Producer, 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star)

Photo of the Day: All American Cast at the American Black Film Festival

This is a great picture of the cast from the All American TV series. It looks like a fun candid shot of the cast having a good time when someone started taking pictures.

A couple of weeks ago, the cast attended the American Black Film Festival to promote their show. And also for their panel All American: Getting Authentic Black Stories to the End Zone which was held on Friday, June 16th. All American is a really good show and I'm glad it was renewed for a sixth season.

Cast from L to R: Daniel Ezra, Samantha Logan, Bre-Z, Michael Evans Behling and Greta Onieogou

Photo: Sarah Michelle Gellar

Here's a photo for Scooby-Doo fans! When actress Sarah Michelle Gellar was at Universal Studios Hollywood, she poised for a picture standing in front of the iconic Mystery Machine. For anyone who doesn't know, Gellar played Daphne Blake in the live-action Scooby-Doo movies: Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

I'm a big Scooby-Doo fan and I normally prefer watching the animated shows and movies. However, I surprisingly really enjoyed watching all five of the live-action Scooby-Doo movies: Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins, Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster and Daphne & Velma. It's been a while, maybe I'll rewatch them.

Photo: Rafael Silva, Ronen Rubinstein, Sierra McClain and Natacha Karam at Dream It Convention

These are some great shots of actors Rafael Silva, Ronen Rubinstein, Sierra McClain and Natacha Karam. These photos were taken Saturday (June 3rd) during the 9-1-1: Lone Star panel at the Dream It Convention: First Responders Reunion in Paris, France.

Total side note, I love how Rafael and Ronen black/white and gray outfits and Sierra and Natacha's orange paisley/orange outfits perfectly complement each other. I wonder if that was planned or fun little coincidence?

Pictures: Ryan Guzman and Kenneth Choi (+ Positive Message Signs)

Sometimes you just need a postive message or two. And here are pictures of actors Ryan Guzman and Kenneth Choi that include signs with positive messages. The message in the first picture is: RELAX. UR OK. which is great because sometimes we need to take a deep breath, relax and know that we'll be okay. Things can get better but first you need to relax.

And for the message in the second picture: You Are Wonderful., because we absolutely are. You can't let doubt, insecurities, etc. stop us from seeing how wonderful we are.

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Photo: Arden Cho

Since it's a rainy day, I thought these throwback 2015 pictures of actress Arden Cho on the set of Teen Wolf would be fitting. Holding a black umbrella and wearing a OnePiece camo jumpsuit, gray top and black and white Puma high top gym shoes, it looked like Arden made the best of a rainy date on set.

Photo: Viola Davis

This is a stunning picture of actress Viola Davis who is standing on the balcony of one of the rooms at the Chateau Marmont hotel. Everything about this picture is amazing from Viola's elegance and beauty to her beautiful gown to the ongoing magnificent view outside the hotel. This is just a wonderful shot.

Photo: Taylor Swift

I really like these black and white pictures of Taylor Swift at the 65th GRAMMY Awards on Sunday (Feb. 5, 2023) in Los Angeles, California.

Although you can't tell from the pictures, Taylor wore this beautiful Roberto Cavalli blue embellished two-piece gown. She accessorized with big rings and big and bold rhombus shaped jeweled earrings. I like that she kept her hair simple in a classic updo because the dress and earrings are total statement pieces. This is just classic glam, her stylist and glam team did an amazing job with this look.

Photo: Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri

I waited until the hyped died down to watch The Bear and I was pleasantly surprised that the first season was really good. From the writing to the characters and not to mention all the food, I found myself really enjoying watching each episode. I thought Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri were amazing as their characters Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto and Sydney Adamu and I'm looking forward to seeing what's going to happen next in their stories. I really hope that whenever the second season airs, it will be just as good, if not better than the first.

Photo: Ronen Rubinstein and Rafael Silva at Dream It Not At Home Convention

Looking at this picture, feels like a fan caught a perfectly candid moment between actors Ronen Rubinstein and Rafael Silva today at the Dream It Not At Home Convention in Paris, France. This is an amazing shot.

Fashion: Megan West

I love the rich color of this dress actress Megan West is wearing for this photo shoot. I love this ruffled V-neck halter dress, it's dramatic and glam. Weirdly, the style makes me think of those overly ruffled dresses of the 80s but in a more fashionable and chicer way. As well as a more sophisticated version of those really bad bridesmaid's dresses that had once been popular (as a way to unfortunately not have the bridesmaids out shine the bride).

As for her hair, although the stylist kept it simple it's still chic plus the dress is eye-catching enough. It might be a little difficult to see but her eyes are smudged with purple eye shadow and liner. The effect is gorgeous and dramatic and fun and goes perfectly with a soft pink lip color.
