Fashion Meets Fandom: Photo of the Day: 9-1-1 cast behind the scene of eighth season Halloween episode

The 9-1-1 Halloween episode Masks (season 8 episode 5) was a mix of fun and danger. I know the episode has gotten mixed reviews but it was interesting. From the fire station Halloween party gone wrong to Buck's curse to Hen's son Denny nearly dying, it was a full experience.

As for the Photo of the Day, I love seeing all the details for the characters' costumes. There's Werewolf Eddie who has on a rather gangster type look with a black fancy vest, pants and dress shoes. Dracula Bobby with a classic look paired with gym shoes. Mad Scientist Hen in a chic and trendy all white attire, combat boots and colorful hair and makeup. Cowboy Buck with a touch of lumberjack, has a very 80s look with a red plaid shirt, bandana, jeans and boots. And last is Friday the 13th Jason Voorhees Chimney, he has the 80s slasher look down perfectly with the classic hockey mask paired with a green utility jumpsuit. They look absolutely spooktacular.

(9-1-1 season 8 episode 5: Masks behind the scenes)

Fandom: Aisha Hinds and Kenneth Choi will be at the Saving Lives Con 2025

I know this is a little in advance but actors Aisha Hinds and Kenneth Choi will be attending the Saving Lives Con by Empire Conventions. It will be on Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4, 2025 in Paris, France. Aisha and Kenneth play firefighters/paramedics Henrietta "Hen" Wilson and Howard "Chimney" Han respectively on the TV series 9-1-1. I love going to conventions or cons and I would love to go to this one, so I'll have think about it.

Also, attending the event are actors: Eric Winter (Timothy "Tim" Bradford - The Rookie), Melissa O'Neil (Lucy Chen - The Rookie) and Adelaide Kane (Dr. Jules Millin - Grey's Anatomy). For more information about the event or to buy tickets (which some have already sold out), click here

Video: 9-1-1 season 8 mini promo

Although, 9-1-1 has moved to Thursdays, it's still 9-1-1 Mondays to me. Anyway, here's a fun little video featuring some of the cast (Bryan Safi, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Aisha Hinds and Tracie Thoms) giving a little reminder that the show will be back soon. The eighth season will premiere Thursday, September 26th at 8:00 PM EST on ABC.

This video is also a reminder to me that when I'm writing about Maddie Buckley to call her Maddie Han now.

I don't like to post a lot of behind the scene pictures of shows and movies because I don't want to see anything that's a spoiler. However, I had to post this behind the scenes picture from the eighth season of 9-1-1 because look behind the cast. Is that a Welcome Back Cap sign? It looks like it.

I definitely hope so because I'm not looking forward to seeing more of that horrible Captain Vincent Gerrard who was reinstated at the 118 fire station after Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash had quit (during a time when he was having mental health issues). Which is why I can't wait for Bobby to get his job back as captain of the 118.

Side note: I'm still not a fan of the mustache that Ryan Guzman's character Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz will have for the upcoming new season. And like Captain Gerrard, I'm really hoping the mustache will not be there for long.

Fandom Thoughts #4: Toxic 9-1-1 Fans

Hi, everyone. Sorry I've been away, I just returned from a five day internet break. And wow did I miss a lot in the fandom world. But there is one Fandom Thought I just have to talk about:

Well, there are some bad fans acting up in the 9-1-1 fandom. From what I can piece together, it happened after four members of the cast (Kenneth Choi, Ryan Guzman, Oliver Stark and Aisha Hinds) were hanging out together over the weekend. They posted fun pictures (below) making fun of Guzman's character Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz's new mustache look for the upcoming eighth season. Well, apparently this set off some fans for the most unusual reason. Well fans of actor Lou Ferrigno, Jr. (who is a guest actor on 9-1-1) were mad because they believed the cast was supposedly somehow trolling or making fun of them and Ferrigno, Jr. I still don't understand how or why they believed that.

These fans were so mad that he wasn't at the party or gathering that one fan even went on a four hour rant (yes, four hours!) being hateful and talking about the cast which the fan posted online. They have since deleted it. Not to mention some of Ferrigno, Jr's fans have been harassing the cast. But how can you get so upset over a perceived slight and go on a hateful rant and harass the cast. And doing all this in support of their favorite actor. That's so disappointing. Especially since Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Jennifer Love Hewitt and other cast members weren't hanging out with those four. However, I don't see fans of those actors ranting and being mad they weren't there.

Situations like this is when fans need to take a step back and realize that they have reached a point where they have lost all sense of reason. How is being angry and harassing the cast being supportive of their favorite actor? Just because they are fans of Ferrigno, Jr doesn't mean they know him. And how do they know he wasn't invited but couldn't attend due to other plans. However, even if he wasn't invited, how does the cast hanging out and taking fun pictures making fun of Eddie's mustache equate to trolling Ferrigno, Jr and his fans. I just don't understand how that even resulted in the outcome of fans being mad.

This whole thing makes me think some of these fans are new to the show or are simply Ferrigno, Jr fans only. Because the cast has always posted fun pictures and videos which has never received such a bad reaction from some fans or that they were accused of making fun of fans before. Regardless if they are new fans or Ferrigno, Jr fans only, this is such an unusual and toxic reaction. Fandom is supposed to be fun and not whatever that was that occurred over the weekend.

Video: 9-1-1 cast try to guess the season of the episode

Here is a fun video of some of the cast from 9-1-1 trying to see if they can correctly guess the season for each episode. I'm surprised they got so many wrong. But I guess as fans, we probably remember the episodes and seasons they aired in more than the actors probably do. To them it's a job. While for us fans, it's our favorite show and we remember so many things about it. Something, I found funny was that none of them could remember the season for Home Invasion which was the episode that the transphobic actress who plays Marisol first appeared in. Maybe they wanted to forget about her as well.

Watching this video now has me totally excited for when some of the cast will be on an upcoming episode of Celebrity Family Feud that will air this summer. I wonder who they will be playing against and if they will win? Hopefully, they will be better at answering the questions on the game show than they were at guessing the seasons to 9-1-1 episodes.

Actors' Strike: Tracie Thoms and Aisha Hinds (Photo) and Dermot Mulroney (Video)

Yesterday (August 25th), actresses Tracie Thoms and Aisha Hinds along with so many other actors and supporters were striking at Disney. I do love that the actors (and writers) are keeping their spirit and morale up while they continue their fight for better contracts, residuals and working conditions. Below is a video of actor Dermot Mulroney talking about some key issues surrounding the Actors' and Writers' strike.

Photo of the Day: Writers' and Actors' Strike (9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star)

On Monday (July 17th), some of the cast and crew of 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star were out there striking with their fellow actors and writers in Los Angeles. I really like this picture, they look determined, positive and tired. I do hope the writers and actors will eventually get a good and fair contract and everyone in the industry can go back to work.

Also, there is a non-profit SAG-AFTRA Foundation set up to provide donations. Because many if not most of the actors are or will be in need of help. Especially since most actors don't make a lot of money while trying to pursue their careers. So if you can, please make a donation to either the SAG-AFTRA Foundation or the Entertainment Community Fund.

As soon as I saw this picture of the cast of 9-1-1, I had to post it. I love this picture because it such an interesting candid shot with the cast on set around the table of the 118 fire station's kitchen. And not to mention this also looks like a Smartwater ad.

I want to note that, although it's only been two episodes that have aired for the sixth season of 9-1-1, they are already a vast improvement over the fifth season. The fifth season wasn't completely bad, there were some good things (and a few good episodes) throughout the season. However, the writing and storytelling were inconsistent with a majority of the episodes leaning towards bad along with many of them were poorly paced. Which is why I'm hoping that the sixth season will continue to be good, because so far, it's off to a good start.

There is now only one week left before 9-1-1 returns, so for 9-1-1 Monday I wanted to post this funny video of some of the cast not happy having to make TikTok videos. I love when there's fun behind the scenes stuff like this.

I know I said I don't like to post behind the scenes pictures which is true and that's mainly with pictures and videos that show actual stuff that could potentially be spoilers. However, I don't mind posting pictures like this of the actors having fun behind the scenes. Such as Aisha Hinds and Ryan Guzman doing ridiculous poses behind the scenes of 9-1-1. It takes a lot of confidence to pull off wearing a firefighter costume as well as a baseball hat, hooded sweatshirt, sweat shorts and rubber boots and still look cool. But somehow they do.

Something I think is underrated is the friendship between their characters Henrietta "Hen" Wilson and Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz. Since both Hen and Eddie have separate more prominent friendships with Howard "Chimney" Han and Evan "Buck Buckley respectively, the friendship between the two of them is something also really special but unfortunately I feel it's often overlooked.

I don't like to post a lot of behind the scenes stuff for movies and shows (until after the finish product is released) because I like to be surprised whenever I watch something. 9-1-1 is currently filming scenes for the upcoming second half of the fifth season and the actors and crew members have been posting pictures which I've been doing my best to avoid. However, I had to post this recent behind the scene picture of Aisha Hinds and Kenneth Choi who play Henrietta "Hen" Wilson and Howard "Chimney" Han.

Once the show returns, it's going to be fantastic having Chim back and him and Hen back as best friends and paramedic partners. The first half of the season was truly lacking without this dynamic duo, can't wait to what's in store for them when the show returns.

9-1-1 Season Three - Two Behind the Scenes Videos + A Most Memorable Scene

In about a month, 9-1-1 returns with the second half of the fifth season and I was thinking about some of the promotional material the show used to release along with a lot of behind the scenes videos and pictures that used to be shown. The season finales are usually the strongest episodes and seasons 2-4 had some of the best. And one of my favorite finales was the third season episode What's Next and two promo videos I was thinking about was 9-1-1 season 3 episode 18 The Making of the Season Finale and Connie Britton Returns To 9-1-1.

As for the Most Memorable Scene (see the third video) from the third season final episode What's Next, I always found it interesting that Eddie didn't recognize Buck's ex-girlfriend Abby which means during the second season Buck never showed Eddie any pictures of his girlfriend at the time nor were there any pictures of her on his Instagram account. I remember in the second season episode Stuck, Eddie jokingly said Buck was "living in his invisible girlfriend's house". You would think that at some point to maybe prove to Eddie that he did have a girlfriend (who was technically traveling around Europe) Buck would have shown him a picture of Abby. But no, Eddie was standing there looking surprised and shocked because he had been talking to the "invisible ex-girlfriend" and didn't know it.
