Happy International Women's Day! (+ a Geeky Holiday Movie List)

To all women, which includes trans women and women with disabilities (who both unfortunately tend to be overlooked by society), we are so powerful and strong and definitely matter. Women may not always get the appreciation for all that we do but that doesn't stop us from striving and continuing to make a difference and break barriers.

So, to women worldwide, I want celebrate our strength, perseverance, achievements and empowerment. To our continued fight for education, equality, equal pay, reproductive rights, disability rights and our continued fight against racism, sexism, etc. and ending wars and genocide as we fight for a better world.

Happy International Women's Day! Below is a mini list of movies that celebrate women being awesome.

Weekend Films: It's a Wonderful Knife and The Marvels

Happy Saturday!

What movies are you watching this weekend? There are two I want to see: It's a Wonderful Knife and The Marvels.

I'm not usually someone who is remotely interested in Christmas this early but I do want to see It's a Wonderful Knife. It's a horror comedy that's a take on the classic holiday film, It's a Wonderful Life. As for the second movie, I have been waiting to see The Marvel ever since it was announced. It has Captain Marvel, Nick Fury, Spectrum and Ms. Marvel all in one movie, how can I not want to see this?

It's a Wonderful Knife

Description:

After saving her town from a psychotic killer, Winnie Carruthers' life is less than wonderful. When she wishes she'd never been born, she finds herself in a nightmare parallel universe where without her, things could be much, much worse.

Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #38: Buck and Eddie, The Marvels and The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Happy Fandom Friday! Yeah, I know, I haven't posted one in a while. Well, here are just a couple of my random fandom thoughts:

- I believe 9-1-1's Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz and Evan "Buck" Buckley deserve a grand love story just like the rest of the main characters and their relationships: Athena Grant and Robert "Bobby" Nash, Henrietta "Hen" and Dr. Karen Wilson and Howard "Chimney" Han and Maddie Buckley. And those last minute lackluster love interests that were introduced for Buck and Eddie at the end of the sixth season are not it. Buck and Eddie being together is the epic and grand love story they so truly deserve.

Teaser Trailer: The Marvels

I had been meaning to post the teaser trailer for The Marvels movie which is why I'm doing it now. This trailer looks amazing. Four of my favorite characters in one movie, how could I not want to see this? It looks like a fun sci-fi comedy action adventure. I wish it was released this summer instead of on Friday, November 10th but I can patiently wait.

Everything about this trailer is so cool and amazing. You have Captain Marvel, Spectrum and Ms. Marvel stuck in some sort of power activated teleportation thing going on. And not to mention Nick Fury is in this plus Goose, again how could I not want to see this? Okay, who else is excited to see The Marvels?

The Marvels

Carol Danvers gets her powers entangled with those of Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau, forcing them to work together to save the universe.
