Fandom Thoughts #8: Captain Marvel movie and S.W.A.T. character Olivia Navarro

Happy Saturday!

- I started my morning by rewatching the Captain Marvel movie. This is still an exciting and interesting movie to watch. It has action, sci-fi, mystery and a good story. For me, it answers questions while also leaving you with a few more. Carol Danvers lost years of her life while being a brainwashed Kree "hero" protecting the galaxy from skrulls. Thankfully, she kept having dreams or nightmares because it was her subconscious trying to clue her in to who she was.

I guess Yon-Rogg's reason for not killing Carol when he first found her, changed after she absorbed all that energy. He probably thought he found a new weapon that they could use in their non-stop ongoing war with the Skrulls. But after she was captured by Skrulls and they tapped into her memories, she was still confused by them but she couldn't ignore them. Were they real or fake?

Regardless, she was set on stopping the Skrulls that made it to Earth. What I love is that going to Earth made it so that she ended up uncovering the truth and regaining and understanding her memories. And like the hero she is, saved the day and planet. With the end credit scene bringing the story back to the present and to the next movie, Avengers: Endgame. Yeah, I just really love the Captain Marvel movie.

Teaser Trailer: The Marvels

I had been meaning to post the teaser trailer for The Marvels movie which is why I'm doing it now. This trailer looks amazing. Four of my favorite characters in one movie, how could I not want to see this? It looks like a fun sci-fi comedy action adventure. I wish it was released this summer instead of on Friday, November 10th but I can patiently wait.

Everything about this trailer is so cool and amazing. You have Captain Marvel, Spectrum and Ms. Marvel stuck in some sort of power activated teleportation thing going on. And not to mention Nick Fury is in this plus Goose, again how could I not want to see this? Okay, who else is excited to see The Marvels?

I might be a little late posting this but it's still Captain Marvel day! Who bought or ordered the Captain Marvel DVD/Blu ray today? I wasn't able to make it out to the store, so I ordered it. I can't wait to watch it again.

Fandom Friday: I love the movie costumes for Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel

I thought both Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel movies were amazing and had interesting and unique stories led by these powerful characters. And I also love the costumes for both characters, they are both militaristic in style and include protective armor with both perfectly representing the characters and the stories they were in.

Diana's suit represents the rich history of Themsycira and Ancient Greece while Carol's suit represents her life as a pilot and her time among the stars as a member of the Starforce. I really think both costume designers deserved awards for creating these very detailed suits. I'm truly a fan.

Who's going to see Captain Marvel?

The anticipation is killing me, I can't wait to see this move. But I might have to wait little longer because I checked my local theatre it looks like this weekends' shows are sold out. That's good news but I won't be able to see it unless I go to another theatre or wait until I go during the the week to see it.

The Book Girl's Book Club Pick for March: Captain Marvel vol #1

It's a new month and that means it's time for a new book club pick. For this month, I selected Captain Marvel vol #1 in honor of the soon to be released Captain Marvel movie (which I can't wait to see) that will be in theatres next Friday.

Marvel changing Carol Danvers from Ms Marvel to Captain Marvel was probably one of the best changes they could have made for the character. And not to mention the cool new costume that was created.

Geek Chic Challenge: Wear a "Captain Marvel" T-Shirt When You See the Movie

Would anyone be interesting doing a Captain Marvel Geek Chic Challenge? The challenge is easy, all you would have to do is wear a Captain Marvel t-shirt whenever you go see the movie which is in theaters on March 8th. I thought it would be a great way to show our excitement for the movie.

I'm posting this now, to give anyone (such as myself) enough time to get a shirt before the movie hit theaters. If anyone is looking for a shirt, I've seen a lot really cool (and affordable) ones out there from the Disney store to a host other stores (Hot Topic, Target, etc.).

Fashion Meets Comics: Captain Marvel Romper

I know it's not summer yet but as soon as I saw this Captain Marvel romper I had to post it. I think this will be really cute to wear during the summer and I love the overall look of this which is inspired by Carol's Air Force suit. I really like that it includes all of these really cool patches and a pin (see the last picture).

Since this does have working front zipper I would wear a tank top or t-shirt underneath and maybe pair it with sandals, flip flops or even tall boots. This is so cute, don't you just love it!

Captain Marvel Teaser Trailer #2

I know that by now most have already seen the latest teaser trailer for Captain Marvel but I had to post it. Carol Danvers is absolutely fearless and this movie looks like it's going to be amazing. I've said it before but I really can't wait to see this movie.

I know there was some uproar when the first teaser trailer was released when it showed the small clip of Captain Marvel hitting an older lady. However, comic books fans knew that the old lady was most likely a Skrull and didn't see the point of all the outcry. However, to perhaps ease some of the concerns I can see why this trailer lead off with that scene.

I totally missed seeing Brie Larson and the premiere of the Captain Marvel trailer on Good Morning America today. Well, I guess it's a good thing there's YouTube because I can at least see the trailer.

This teaser trailer looks good. I like that it doesn't reveal too much, just enough to peak interest even in someone like me who is a big comic book fan.

Entertainment Weekly's Captain Marvel Cover

I am so looking forward to seeing the Captain Marvel movie and I think Brie Larson will do amazing job as Carol Danvers.

I think this Entertainment Weekly cover is really awesome, the suit looks simply spectacular. For anyone who might be interested, the magazine will be available on newsstands on Friday and the Captain Marvel movie will be in theatres on March 8, 2019.
