Fashion Meets Comics: Captain America Shield Sweater

After the heat wave, it finally feels like fall with the air nice and chilly which has me automatically reaching for my sweaters. I just love sweater season and I would love it even more if I had this Captain America sweater. It's so bright and colorful which I'm easily drawn to.

This is so cute, why do I always find things I want?

My Latest Obsession: Captain America + Currently Reading: Marvel's Captain America: Sub Rosa

I have no idea why my interest in Captain America seems to have hit an obsessive level over the past few days. Maybe it has something to do with Captain America: Civil War movie being released on DVD/Blu-ray in 24 days (Sept. 13th). But I really don't think my Latest Obsession has anything to do with the movie since I love reading the comic books.

I have been thinking of doing a Captain America Read-a-Thon of the Ed Brubaker run but I don't think I have enough time to even start one. With the Read-a-Thon not looking possible, I did however start reading this Captain America novel below earlier today. So far the book is off to a really good start. I should have my review up in a few days.

Captain America, The World's Greatest Villain

I'm sure there are Marvel executives somewhere celebrating about all the publicity that Captain America: Steve Rogers issue #1 has been receiving. But was it worth destroying a popular character in the process for it. It's an understatement to say fans are outraged but that's apparently what the writer Nick Spencer wanted. Yes, he wanted fans to be outraged that he has taken one of their beloved characters and made him a villain.

Didn't Marvel learn anything from their rival DC Comics? At the start of the New 52, DC Comics used a large number of gimmicks and the use of shock value to launch the reboot. It didn't fair too well for them and in the end of the entire run of the New 52, the reboot has been seen as a huge disappointment. Which is currently why DC Comics is trying to fix everything with their latest soft reboot, Rebirth.

So why would Marvel for the 75th Anniversary of Captain America make him a Hydra agent. And apparently he's been that the entire time. My theory in this ridiculous plot is that Steve somehow has memories implanted and now believes he's a Hydra agent. Well, that's what I hope and not that the hero has been a mole the entire time building trust only to show his true colors as a member of a racist organization.

I would like to think Marvel wouldn't do something so stupid as to make their most iconic character a villain.

When you think back to the time when Captain America was created by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon, it was a difficult time. The Nazis were killing and imprisoning people because they had a ridiculous notion that the people were inferior. At that time, the United States had not entered the war but it was looking more like a strong possibility of that happening. Kirby and Simon created Captain America as a way to show how much they despised Hitler's regime.

I think what makes this ordeal even more sickening is that Captain America was created by two Jewish men. And now to see that Marvel and Nick Spencer have turned their creation into something they despised, it truly makes no sense.

I hope Nick Spencer has a clever way to fix this mess because it's hard to see how the once great Captain America can ever go back to being seen as a hero after this. Seeing Cap say Hail Hydra is a very powerful visual especially because this is a hero who stood up against the evils of the Nazis but now is one of them. It's very hard to take in.

Must See TV: Captain America Special, Agent Carter, Total Divas, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and more

There is a lot of good TV on tonight and most of it seems to be on at 9:00 pm. I'm going to have to set my DVR for some and catch up with others On Demand.

Since, I stopped watching Supergirl (that show just wasn't for me) and I'm quickly losing interest in both The Flash and Arrow. And other than catching up on the second season of Gotham I haven't had any new superhero shows to watch. Which is why I can't wait for tonight's premiere of the second season of Marvel's Agent Carter. That first season was awesome, I hope this one will be too. Oh and there is also a special on Captain America on tonight.

Now for Total Divas I don't think Trinity (stage name Naomi) and her husband and fellow wrestler Jon will be on this fifth season. It's as if they're only on the show every other season. Still looking forward to seeing this season.

I'm glad Brooklyn Nine-Nine was moved back to Tuesdays, this show is so funny. Love the writing and the acting. On a side note: I tried watching Angie Tribeca but I could not get into that show. I know it's supposed to be a spoof on crime shows but it wasn't very funny.

Zoe Ever After is a new show that premiered two weeks ago, it follows recently divorced Zoe Moon who is trying to navigate between being a good mom, running her cosmetics company and getting back into dating. I really like this show it's cute, fashionable and funny.

Last in the line up is Just Jillian, I don't watch a lot of reality shows but I am interested in seeing this.

Day #25: Summer Fashions: Wonder Woman Tank Top and Captain America Hooded Tank Top

As I type this, it's very cold outside and getting colder by the minute. This makes it quite easy to start thinking about the summer. And with summer brings the return of easy breezy fashion such as shorts, summer dresses, tank tops and more.

It also gives us a chance to wear our favorite Chic Geek clothing and show off any of that hard work we did with sticking with those resolutions.

Comic Book News: Falcon will be the New Captain America and there's a change in store for Iron Man

According to an article from TheWrap, Steve Rogers will no longer be wearing the Red, White and Blue Captain America suit. Due to the super serum no longer working, Steve will go through a rapid aging process leaving Samuel Wilson a.k.a. Falcon to don the suit.

Like with the announcement with the new female Thor, it's exciting news but similar to the Thor news we all know this will just be temporary, amazing but temporary. As comic book fans we all know that eventually no one stays dead, missing, de-powered, etc. for long and eventually regain their old titles, positions, etc.

It will be interesting to see how Sam will be as the new Captain. I'm looking forward to reading this.

The new series All-New Captain America will premiere in October and will be written by Rick Remender with illustrations by Stuart Immonen.

Iron Man is not to be left out of the change department, the new series All-New Superior Iron Man will premiere this Fall and be written by Tom Taylor with illustrations by Yildiray Cinar.

According to IGN, Tony Stark will be wearing a new silver armor suit and will relocate to San Francisco. He will have a difficult time trying to win over the residents of his new city among other things that Tony will have to endure.

So, Tony will no longer wear the Red and Gold Iron Man suit and will leave New York, it will make you wonder how this egocentric guy will cope in a new city and with a suit that doesn't have any flair.

What do you guys think, are you interested in reading these new series?
