Fashion Meets Fandom: Hello Kitty Tote Bag

I'm really surprised that the only Hello Kitty merchandise I have is a little toy/figurine (the one where Kitty is reading a book) I bought from McDonald's years ago. I love Hello Kitty yet I don't seem to buy any merchandise. This morning I was online window shopping and I found this tote bag. I like it because it's bright red and cute and simple. It just looks like a bag I'd want to use.

Nesting: Barbie Malibu Comic Mug

This Barbie Malibu Comic Mug is so cute, it definitely has an 80s vibe to it. And it feels like a fun summer mug, yeah you can use it all year long but it's just very summery. I also love all the colorful illustrations, as a comic book fan all it feels like they reprinted a page from a comic.

As a Barbie fan, I really like this, I may have to get it. It's certainly a mug I'd use to drink my tea as well as I'd just love to add it to my ever-growing mug collection.

Geek Find: 9-1-1 First-Aid Kit

I guess this could be considered the first official merchandise for the 9-1-1 TV series. It's a media tie-in limited edition First Aid-Kit by Preppi. It's available for a limited time and is $75.00. I know I can find a first-aid kit way cheaper than this but I wouldn't mind having this for the metal case. The first-aid stuff included is just an added bonus. Nesting: Our Flag Means Death Mug

There is now official Our Flag Means Death merchandise. As soon as I found out, I had to post it. I don't know when the collection (which so far only has six items) launched but now fans can finally get official merchandise. And I know the first thing that I want, it's this mug. I love it, one side has the show's name/logo and "Every Captain Needs a Mate". While the other side has the second season promo image of Stede and Ed/Blackbeard in a heart shape.

No surprise I want this, I love mugs and watching Our Flag Means Death, so of course this would be the first thing I'd get. I do hope at some point a tote bag will be released because that's also something I would get.

Depending on what you're a fan of, sometimes there's a lot of merchandise (official and unofficial). While other times there's very little or none at all. So, as a geek, there's no surprise I like finding interesting or fun fandom things. It's just nice having a little something from your favorite fandoms.

As some of you might know (especially if you visit Book Girl often), I love mugs. I have so many of them from regular to fandom ones. I was searching through Society6 looking at mugs when I found this Buffy the Vampire Slayer mug. I really like it because it has all these little symbols and icons that represent the show. It's Buffy the Vampire Slayer without stating it.

Nesting: Scooby-Doo Tumbler

With the weather starting to warm up, I know I'm going to be outside more. Usually when I'm out, whether running errands or simply enjoying day, I carry a water bottle or tumbler. As a bonus, using a reusable water bottle or tumbler are good for the environment and you save money by not buying a lot of bottled water, pop, etc. that you use once and then have to throw away (or if it's possible recycle).

Anyway, I really love this Scooby-Doo heart pattern tumbler, it's so cute. I love that each of the characters' signature colors and clothes are in little hearts. It's not stated on the product page but I'm pretty sure the straw is included. I know this was released as part of a Valentine's Day collection but you don't need a specific holiday to use something. It's a bit pricey for a tumbler but the pattern is so cute.

Nesting: R2-D2 Popcorn Maker

I love watching my favorite movies or shows and having some popcorn while I watch them. And I've been thinking of getting a new popcorn maker because the one I have is nearing it's end. I found this R2-D2 one and it's so cool. However, the price makes me think that this is not the droid, I mean popcorn maker that I'm looking for. I know, I just had to say it.

This is pretty cool but I'm a geek on a budget, so I'm wondering if this is worth getting? But as as a Star Wars fan I think this is so cool and it's totally caught my interest. I love all the details and it truly looks like R2-D2. I do make a lot of popcorn so my reasoning would be that this will pay for itself in the long run. I'm definitely going to think about it.

Book of Interest: Gilmore Girls: The Official Cookbook Gift Set

I love finding geeky or fandom inspired cookbooks and I don't know how I missed this Gilmore Girls: The Official Cookbook Gift Set. I knew there was going to be an official Gilmore Girls cookbook (there's also several unofficial ones as well) but I didn't know they were also going to release a gift set too. I like that you get the cookbook and a Luke's Diner apron but I also wish it included a mug as well. Especially since the retail price for this gift set is $39.99.

I know I need to stay off the Harry Potter Shop website because I always find something that I want, like this Slytherin mug. I'm not the biggest Slytherin fan but I really like this mug. I like all the little details from the symbols to the Slytherin house traits including the snake on the inside of the mug.

Why am I always looking at mugs? And it's not like I don't already have plenty of them but that doesn't stop me from wanting to add just one more. Alright Harry Potter fans, would you get this mug?

Fashion: Harry Potter Diagon Alley Tote Bag

Happy Saturday!

Earlier today, I watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. That's one of my favorite movie, I absolutely love it. And I love the scene (in the book as well) when Harry first went to Diagon Alley. He was so surprised and in awe of everything he saw.

After watching the movie, I know I shouldn't have looked at any Harry Potter merchandise because I ended up finding this Diagon Alley tote bag. I know I don't need yet another tote bag but I really like this one. I think it's pretty cool that it features the names of the stores found in Diagon Alley on one side of it.

I know I don't need it but I just really like it.

I love finding bookish things and I'm constantly on the hunt for anything and everything bookish or geekish. And I'm sure my fellow bookworms do as well. Nesting: X-Men Coffee Maker and Mug

I don't even like coffee but I love this X-Men Coffee Maker which also includes a mug. I would just use it to heat up water for tea instead of turning on the stove for the kettle. I'm really thinking about getting this but as I said I already have a tea kettle. It's just as X-Men fan, I really want this but I know I don't need it. I do know that if I had a home office (I envy any of my fellow nerds who has one), I would definitely put it in there. I don't know, is this something you'd get?

I don't know if you're aware but I'm a fan of Jane Austen. She wrote brilliant masterpieces that have stood the test of time. She had a way of writing stories that were complex yet very easy to read. I don't know if there is an official Jane Austen day but there should be.

On one my online searches, I found this beautiful Jane Austen mug. I love all the quotes on it, I'm pretty sure they're featured on the on other side of mug as well.

Geek Find: R2-D2 Humidifier and Star Wars Tumbler with Straw

I was at Target earlier today and saw this Star Wars R2-D2 Humidifier sitting on the shelf. This looks very cute but I'm not so sure how cute the $59.99 price tag is.

I may not have bought that humidifier but I did buy this Star Wars IV: A New Hope Tumbler with Straw. It was only $6.99 which is not a bad price. I'm pretty sure I will be using this a lot especially this summer.

Geek Find: Wonder Woman Business Card Holder

I have a business card holder but it's nothing like this. I always hear that when networking you want to stay memorable and what's not more memorable than the colors red and yellow. And not to mention it has the Wonder Woman symbol on it.

It's hard to imagine this not catching someone's attention, it's bright and colorful. I think this would be great for those working in a more creative field not sure if it's okay for the corporate world. I'm definitely thinking about getting one.

While searching for a book on the Barnes & Noble's website, I found these two bookaholic endearing mugs. I love the vivid colors and the beautiful artwork. I am a big fan of Sujean Rim's artwork and earlier this year I posted a tote bag with the same art as the mug. Isn't it cute?

Meanwhile, I think it is something very serene about the Sarah Wilkins mug with the woman sitting outside reading.

Nesting: Doctor Who TARDIS Journal

The ottoman in my bedroom is filled with journals and notebooks. I'm so rarely without one, I always keep journal or notebook in my bag just for those times when I have to write something down.

I know you can add notes to phones and tablets but I much prefer to write it down. The covers range from plain to bright colors to those with characters on them (my Wonder Woman journal is the one currently in my purse).

I'm always on the lookout for a new journal and notebook, I spotted this Doctor Who TARDIS journal and thought it was pretty cool. I may have to add it to my wishlist.

Geek Find: Star Wars Hoodie (HSN Cares)

Last night, I did tune in to watch the HSN Cares Star Wars Special and I saw a few interesting things like the luggage and the headphones. However, I didn't buy anything from the live show instead I went on the HSN website and found more Star Wars items there. I ended up ordering this really cute Star Wars hoodie.

That was my first time ordering anything from HSN, my hoodie should arrive sometime next month. All that aside, I'm just glad that even my small purchase went to help a worthy cause.
