On My List: November 6th

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful and restful weekend. I wanted to post a few things that are On MY List:

Books I Want to Read (But Just Haven't Bought Yet):

This week's group of books are comic books and graphic novels. First, is a Princess Azula one-shot/stand-alone Avatar: The Last Airbender story. Second, is the fifth volume of Heartstoppers and last is the first volume of Wonder Woman by George Pérez. All three are books that I really want to read.

Book: Avatar: The Last Airbender: Azula in the Spirit Temple by Faith Erin Hicks and illustrations by Peter Wartman and Adele Matera

Description:

A brand new stand-alone comics story from the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender!

Azula continues her destabilizing campaign against the Fire Nation and her brother, Fire Lord Zuko.

But after a failed attack on her latest target, Azula finds herself in a mysterious forest temple inhabited by a solitary monk…or is it something more mysterious? Azula must confront her past, and finally face her chance at redemption.

On My List: April 18th

On My List is a fun post where I let you know about some of the books, movies, TV shows, etc that I'm interested in. I can't believe this is the first one I posted for 2020, anyway here's my list. Let me know what's on your list.

Books

I Want To Read:

Book: Firefly: Big Damn Hero by James Lovegrove and Nancy Holder

Description:

THE FIRST ORIGINAL NOVEL FROM THE MUCH-MISSED SPACE WESTERN FIREFLY, PRODUCED WITH JOSS WHEDON AS CONSULTING EDITOR, SET IN THE HEART OF THE SERIES.

It should have been a routine job, transporting five crates from the planet of Persephone to a waiting buyer. And Lord knows, Captain Mal Reynolds needs the money if he's to keep Serenity flying. But the client is Badger, and nothing that involves him is ever straightforward. The crates are full of explosives, which might blow at the slightest movement.

Just before take-off, Mal disappears. As the cargo grows more volatile by the minute, and Alliance cruisers start taking an interest in the tenacious smuggling ship, it's down to Serenity's first mate, Zoë, to choose between rescuing her captain and saving her crew.

Meanwhile, rumors are spreading on Persephone of a band of veteran Browncoat malcontents who will stop at nothing to be revenged on those responsible for their terrible defeat. Is Mal harboring a dark secret from the war? And can the crew of Serenity find him before it's too late?

Why It's On My List: I love Firefly, the show is one of favorite sci-fi universes and I absolutely had to add this book to my list.

Smallville cast, Samm Levine, Jewel Staite and Sean Maher at the Wizard World Comic Con

I love both of these pictures from the Wizard World Comic Con which is held this weekend in Madison, Wisconsin. The first picture features some of the Smallville cast with actor and Smallville panel host Samm Levine. The second picture has former Firefly co-stars, actors Jewel Staite and Sean Maher posing with familiar horror movie villains.

Smallville cast with actor Samm Levine

From L to R: Laura Vandervoort, Erica Durance, Samm Levine, Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum

This is an amazing photo of the cast, everyone looks really good. Everyone has a nice casual look, I love Laura's green floral mini dress and Erica's brown leather bomber.
