Summer Look: Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba has such amazing style. From vibrant skirts and dresses to skinny jeans and tops, I have never seen a photo where she's wearing anything awful. Take for instance, this picture from 2010, Jessica's wearing a classic summer look of a button down shirt paired with cuffed denim shorts. It's cool and laid-back but also really chic with how she styled it with oversize sunglasses, bracelets and colorful sandals.

Jessica Alba
I love that Jessica Alba has played some really cool characters like Sue Storm in Fantastic Four and Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Max Guevera in the Dark Angel TV series but also some inspirational ones like teacher Mona Gray in An Invisible Sign. Some of my other favorite movies she's starred in are: Awake, Into the Blue, Never Been Kissed, Spy Kids 4-D: All the Time in the World, The Eye and Valentine's Day.
There are still some of her movies and TV series that I haven't seen yet such as: Killers Anonymous, L.A.'s Finest TV series, Mechanic: Resurrection, Sin City, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and The Veil. As soon as I can I'm going to try to watch them.

My 4 Favorite Looks from the 2019 Teen Choice Awards
I was looking at the fashion from this year's Teen Choice Awards and I couldn't help noticing how horrible so many of the fashion choices were. There were only four that I thought were the best dressed: Lucy Hale, Jessica Alba, Maddie Ziegler and Robert Downey Jr.
Everyone else looked like their stylists hated them and gave them the worst clothes ever or they decided to dress themselves and still picked the worst clothes ever. Either way it was some of the worst looks for the event.
Lucy Hale in Jean Paul Gaultier
This sparkly mini dress is so cute, the bold red and black colors makes it totally stands out. Lucy Hale's hair in a slightly wavy bob and striking make-up are perfect and I just love the red lipstick, it's total glam.

Fashion Meets Comics: Sue Storm (Fantastic Four movie)
In the Fantastic Four movies, scientist Sue Storm had a style that was classic with a touch of glam. I really like this outfit she wore in the first movie, it's a cardigan paired with a cami and trouser jeans and I thought it would be perfect for Fashion Meets Comics.
This is such an easy and modern look and I could see wearing it just about anywhere be it for casual Friday or running errands during the weekend. Although it's simple, this outfit has a polished feel to it, that can easily be paired with flats, sandals, heels or boots.
You don't have to be a scientist to know that this look is easy to put together especially since it's nothing but basics. However, the only thing I changed about the look were the trouser jeans (which are not easy to find) and replaced them with a great pair of dark wash jeans.
This is such a cute and simple outfit, feel free to add whatever type of accessories you like to complete the look.

Toy Corner: Funko Princess Tiana, Wonder Woman and Lilo (+ Magazine Picks)
I don't know if you recall my Thursday post about a new bookstore opening on Saturday. I stopped by there after my hair appointment and no surprise it busy. I hope that's a good sign and the business will be successful. Looking around the store, I saw a lot of books I would like to buy. But seeing as though I stuck with my challenge of not buying any books, I just wandered the aisles looking around.
Before I left the store, I did buy a few things, a Funko Princess Tiana and Naveen and several magazines: three fitness magazines and a Cosmo. And once I got home, there was my order for Funko Wonder Woman and Lilo. So, not a bad Saturday.

Fitness Monday: Fitness Challenges and Fitness Magazines
Happy Fitness Monday!
I know it's been a while since I've posted something for this. But I just finished the 30 day squat challenge and I'm going to be starting a new one today, the 30 day walking challenge. I think these challenges are great motivators.
Never gaining the Freshman 15 in college (1. from walking around campus 2. using the school gym and 3. always being busy) it didn't hit me until after I graduated because at first I found myself less active and sitting around more than I used to, stressing out about "real life" issues (you know find a job, place to live, etc.) and maybe eating out more than I should have. At first I didn't notice the weight gain but once I did, I started making sure I got in more exercise and not eating as many snacks. But it wasn't until I started doing these challenges that I was finding my motivation not waning and I also found I actually enjoyed doing them.
From fitness challenges to magazines, over the weekend I got three fitness magazines: Women's Health (Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover), Shape (Jessica Alba on the cover) and Muscle & Fitness Hers (Nikki and Brie Bella on the cover). It's been a while since I've bought any new magazines, I'm more likely to buy a book or DVD than a magazine. But I was looking in the fitness section and spotted these three and flipping through them I found some good information.
This summer is going to be all about having fun of course but also being a fit book blogger. Sitting around reading isn't probably the most active thing to do but it's so relaxing. So, I'm going to definitely make sure I stay motivated to stay in shape.
Side Note: Anyone planning on attending college or currently enrolled don't forget to take advantage of that gym membership (you're already being charged for it may as well use it).
