On My List: February 21st

Happy Tuesday!

I haven't posted an On My List in a while, so I wrote a little one. First, is a book that's been on my bookshelf that I haven't read. Second is a TV show I want to rewatch and last is a movie I want to rewatch. What's on your list?


A Book on my Bookshelf that I Haven't Read:

Yesterday, I was looking through one of my bookcases and found Star Wars: Scoundrels at the back of one the shelves. I forgot I had this and definitely want to read it. It's a book that centers on Han Solo, Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian, how could I have forgotten about this book. I've moved it to the front of the shelf, so I'll see it and hopefully it'll remind me to read it soon.

Book: Star Wars: Scoundrels by Timothy Zahn

Nesting: Lando Calrissian's Millennium Falcon in Solo: A Star Wars Story

I remember when I was a little girl seeing Star Wars: A New Hope for first time on TV. It immediately caught my attention and when the Millennium Falcon first appeared on screen my reaction was pretty similar to Luke Skywalker's when he called it a piece of junk. I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover but Han Solo had made such a big deal about his ship that once it appeared I couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed. However, despite my initial reaction about the Falcon's less than stellar appearance, I soon realized it really was an impressive ship.

One of the things I loved about Solo: A Star Wars Story besides it being a great heist movie was getting to see more of the interior of the Millennium Falcon. The ship shown in Solo was such a stark contrast to what was shown in the original Star Wars trilogy. It goes without saying that Lando Calrissian has impeccable taste and when he owned the Falcon it reflected his style and sophistication. After watching Solo, Lando's line "What have you done to my ship?" from The Empire Strikes Back, really makes sense because you can't help wondering what did Han and Chewbacca do to that ship?

Book Watch: Three Lando Calrissian Star Wars Books for Billy Dee Williams' Birthday

Since today is Billy Dee Williams' birthday (he's 83) here are three Lando Calrissian Star Wars books you might want to add to your To Read List. I have the first book (I haven't read it yet but I will) and I'm planning on getting the other two as well.

From smooth talking Administrator of Cloud City and former scoundrel to being a heroic General of the Rebel Alliance, it was great seeing Lando's return to the war and in his former ship, the Millennium Falcon.

Happy Birthday Billy Dee Williams and thank you for portraying one of my favorite characters, Lando Calrissian. May The Force Be With You!

I'm so happy that Lando Calrissian will finally make his return in the Disney Star Wars movies in the upcoming Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker. I don't know why he wasn't included in the first two movies (The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi), it certainly would have been great if there were scenes with him and Han Solo in The Force Awakens especially considering what happened to Han.

DVD Tuesday: Solo: A Star Wars Story

Solo did well at the box office but not as well as it should have and that's unfortunately because there was a campaign by some so-called fans to deliberately tank it. It really annoys me that these "fans" had this extra time on their hands and decided to use it by going after a movie because they were disappointed with the Star Wars franchise. I really want to tell them to get a life, this is entertainment and it should not be taken this seriously.

Anyway, I can't wait to get this.

Weekend Film: Solo: A Star Wars Story

Even though, I'm beginning to feel like the Star Wars franchise is becoming over saturated with so many upcoming movies and TV shows in the works, I am very much interested in seeing Solo.

The original Star Wars trilogy introduced so many fantastic characters including Han Solo, Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian which is why I can't wait to see how their story begins.

Although, I'm a huge Star Wars fan, the books have been hit or miss with me. I am really interested in giving this a read, it's Lando Calrissian how could I not want to read this?

Happy May 4th! + Star Wars Comic Book News

Happy May 4th or as we Star Wars geeks like to say "May the 4th be with you". I can't believe I forgot to post this.

Oh and here's some Star Wars related book news if you haven't already heard, Lando Calrissian will be the next character to have a comic book mini series (Marvel). The miniseries will be titled Lando and will be out in July. This 4 part series will be written by Charles Soule with illustrations by Alex Maleev.

Wish List Wednesday: Stars Wars: Scoundrels

Even though I'm a huge Star Wars fan, I have yet to read any of the books. However, I must add this book to my wish list. How could I pass up reading about the space of adventures of Han Solo, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca.
