Trailer: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Looking at the full trailer really does look like an interesting movie and it still feels like I'm watching underwater Thor with all the visuals as well as Arthur and Orm working together. But I still want to see Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. From what's being reported, Mera has a smaller role in this but I do hope there will be scenes with her, Arthur and their son.

Total side note: I love that at the end of the trailer it's suggested you read the comic books. I just would like to know why it took so long to finally include promoting comic books in the trailers?

Teaser Trailer: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

I really enjoyed watching the first Aquaman movie and I'm looking forward to seeing this second movie, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The description does make me think of the second and third Thor movies, Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok. Where Thor had to team up with Loki in order to defeat the Dark Elves (The Dark World) and Hela (Ragnarok).

I wouldn't be surprised if Orm betrays Arthur once everything with Black Manta is sorted. Because Orm can't be trusted, I'm sure if he sees an opportunity he'll double cross Arthur immediately.

DVD Tuesday: Aquaman

I remember when Aquaman was thought of as a joke and it seemed like only a few of us were fans of the character. What's not to like about Aquaman? He's a hero that protects the oceans and seas from villains and polluters while helping those in need.

One of the good things that came out of DC Comics' terrible New 52 reboot was Aquaman getting the star treatment that the character deserved. New fans were finally seeing what us old fans saw, a really cool character. Although, Aquaman has always been a great character, I do commend the New 52 with making the character popular to more fans.

And that surge of popularity really helped in getting Aquaman to big screen, from the Justice League movie to his solo movie, it's a great time to be an Aquaman fan.

Weekend Films: Aquaman, Bumblebee and Mary Poppins Returns

This is the weekend before Christmas and it's probably not the best time for me to even think about going to the theatre especially since I still have some last minute gift shopping and wrapping to do. However, there are three really interesting movies that I want to see: Aquaman, Bumblebee and Mary Poppins Returns.

I've already heard good things about each movie from critics and movie goers who seem to be really enjoying these movies and I can't wait to see them as well. Out of these three movies which have you seen or are planning to see?

Love That!: Justice League Movie

I know that in general people tend to talk about things they don't like more than they do the things they like. And I'm no exception because I know I do the same thing which is why I'm going to start focusing on things I have enjoyed but rarely talk about with my new column, Love That!. For instance, I realized that I have never said anything about the Justice League movie.

Surprisingly, I actually really enjoyed watching this movie. I feel like they finally got the characters heading in the right direction, Bruce Wayne (Batman) was actually thinking things through instead of being the raging idiot he was in Batman v Superman. While, Diana (Wonder Woman) was dealing with her feelings of isolation and it was nice to see Clark Kent (Superman) not so melancholy as he was in both Man of Steel and Batman v Superman.

It was interesting watching Bruce trying to make amends for the terrible decisions he made in BvS while he tried to put together a team of heroes. I absolutely adored Barry Allen (The Flash) and Arthur Curry (Aquaman)'s zany antics. Meanwhile, it was a little heartbreaking watching Victor Stone (Cyborg) struggle with trying to adjust to not only his new cybernetic body but also a feeling of isolation, but he worked through it. There were a lot of things I like about this movie including the scenes with Lois Lane and Clark at the farm and when Clark's mother Martha showed up. Those were really touching moments.

Justice League had plenty of action, humor and an interesting story, I found it to be far more enjoyable than the chaotic BvS or the depressing Man of Steel. However, it did have a problem with pacing, there were times when it felt like some scenes were moving at a snails pace. And that's a problem someone should have noticed either during filming or the editing process where it could have been fixed. I also had one more issue with the movie and that's with Batman and Lois calling Superman Clark while there were a few police officers nearby. I know they were mostly caught up in the moment of trying to calm down an enraged Superman after he was bought back to life. However, it will be harder for Clark to keep his identity a secret if more people know about it.

Aside from the pacing, this wasn't a bad movie, I don't know if DC Comics and Warner Bros. will continue this movie universe but I wish they would because Justice League felt like they finally listened to many of the complaints about Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. This is a movie that was actually fun to watch.

DVD Tuesday: LEGO Aquaman, Overboard and Star Wars: Rebels Season 4

I love watching the LEGO DC Comics movies, they are so funny and so far I have yet to see one I didn't like. Which is why I can't wait to see LEGO Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis, I'm sure Aquaman (and the rest of the League) will end up doing so many ridiculous things in this movie. I hope the next LEGO movie will be Wonder Woman, I'm really surprised one hasn't been announced for her by now.

Two other DVDs I want to get are Overboard and Star Wars: Rebels season 4. I'm usually not a big fan of reboots but Overboard looks really funny. As for Star Wars: Rebels, the 4th season was the final season for this ragtag group of heroes. I might not have started out a big fan of SWR when it first aired but by the end it won me over as a fan.
