Hiatus Watch: LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation

Thankfully, summer is not over, because there are still some new and fun things to watch. Such as the new LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation special which premiered today on Disney Plus. I loved the previous specials: LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special and LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales, both are a must watch for me. I love the specials because they're funny and lighthearted yet still feel like Star Wars. I'm really looking forward to watching this new one.

There is a new Star Wars Halloween special, LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales. It will premiere Friday October 1 on Disney Plus. This looks amazing! I love spooky tales and couple that with Star Wars, how could I not want to watch this?

Along the way, Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars. As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges. The new LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special premieres today on Disney+ and I'm thankful my power came back on so I can watch it. Who else is going to watch it? DVD Tuesday: LEGO Aquaman, Overboard and Star Wars: Rebels Season 4

I love watching the LEGO DC Comics movies, they are so funny and so far I have yet to see one I didn't like. Which is why I can't wait to see LEGO Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis, I'm sure Aquaman (and the rest of the League) will end up doing so many ridiculous things in this movie. I hope the next LEGO movie will be Wonder Woman, I'm really surprised one hasn't been announced for her by now.

Two other DVDs I want to get are Overboard and Star Wars: Rebels season 4. I'm usually not a big fan of reboots but Overboard looks really funny. As for Star Wars: Rebels, the 4th season was the final season for this ragtag group of heroes. I might not have started out a big fan of SWR when it first aired but by the end it won me over as a fan.

LEGO Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis

Description:

In LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Aquaman - Rage of Atlantis, the King of Atlantis must make some difficult decisions to ensure the future of his ocean realm. Under attack from Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns, Aquaman realizes he must relinquish his sovereignty and go on a journey to regain his confidence before returning to his rightful throne. Along the way, Aquaman reunites with the Justice League – including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and newest member Jessica Cruz/Green Lantern – to conquer Atlantis’ latest enemy and reemerge as the ruler of the Seven Seas.

DVD Tuesday: Justice League, LEGO Flash, Ferdinand, The Shape of Water and Call Me By Your Name

Hey movie fans, there are so many movies out today and at the top of my list are Justice League and LEGO Flash which I will be definitely picking up sometime this week. I'll have to get Ferdinand, The Shape of Water and Call Me By Your Name at another time but I still want to see them.

Aside from LEGO Flash (which is direct to DVD/Blu-ray/Digital), I didn't see any of the other movies in the theatre. I never got around to seeing Justice League meanwhile Ferdinand had the disadvantage of being released in theaters the same day as Star Wars: The Last Jedi. I've heard so much about The Shape of Water and Call Me By Your Name that now I'm interested in seeing them.

Are there any movies or TV shows that you're planning on getting this week?

Justice League

Description:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Weekend Films: Lego Batman and John Wick: Chapter 2

Why are both of these movies out at the same time? Now I'm going to have to figure out which one to see first but how do I chose? The first John Wick movie was great and I'm hoping the sequel is too, while The Lego Batman Movie looks so funny and adorable.

Maybe his superhero sidekick Robin (Michael Cera), loyal butler Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) and Commissioner Barbara Gordon (Rosario Dawson) can show him a thing or two.

John Wick: Chapter 2

Another LEGO Batman Trailer (Trailer #4)

I can't wait to see this movie, here's the latest trailer. I had no idea Barbara Gordon was going to be in this, glad they released this clip.

Lego Batman Movie Trailer #3: Batman and Robin

The more trailers I see of this Lego Batman movie the more I can't want to see it. Here is the latest showcasing Robin. I think this version of Robin will fit in perfectly with this movie because he's just as loony as the rest of the characters.

Yes, I can't wait to see this.

The LEGO Batman Movie Poster and Trailers (#1 and #2)

I had been meaning to post the LEGO Batman Movie trailers for a while but by then they were being posted everywhere. But now that the poster was released at the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), I thought it would be great to post all three now.

I love this poster, it's quirky and zany just like I'm sure the movie will be. Can't wait to see it. Anyone else excited about seeing this movie?

DVD Tuesday: LEGO Justice League: Gotham City Breakout

I love these LEGO Justice League and Scooby-Doo movies, I have yet to find one I didn't like. And Gotham City Breakout looks like it's going to another fun one to watch. So, for Batman, why is the worst thing to ever happen to him, is to take a vacation? Only he would think taking a little time off is bad. Well, I guess in this case it probably is.

I'm going to make sure I pick this up later today when I go out to the store.

LEGO Justice League: Gotham City Breakout

Description:

Batman faces his greatest challenge yet: VACATION! The caped crusader reluctantly agrees to let Batgirl and Nightwing take him on a long overdue vacation from crimefighting, while Superman and the Justice League watch over Gotham City. Neither operation goes as planned when Batman's vacation is cut short by dangers from his past and invaders from the center of the earth, and Superman and the other Leaguers quickly realize just how much Batman usually has his hands full with the villains of Gotham.

DVD Tuesday: LEGO Scooby-Doo! Haunted Hollywood and Deadpool

I love the LEGO movies and Scooby-Doo! so it's easy to see why I want to get LEGO Scooby-Doo! Haunted Hollywood. Now as for Deadpool, he's not one of my favorite characters but I am curious to see how the movie is. Since Ryan Reynolds tends to play the same character in most of his movies, I figured he finally found a role that lines up perfectly for him.

LEGO Scooby-Doo! Haunted Hollywood

Description:

The gang tries to rescue an old movie studio that is threatened by developers and haunted by movie monsters.

Deadpool

Description:

Wade Wilson is a former Special Forces operative who now works as a mercenary. His world comes crashing down when evil scientist Ajax tortures, disfigures and transforms him into Deadpool. The rogue experiment leaves Deadpool with accelerated healing powers and a twisted sense of humor. With help from mutant allies Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Deadpool uses his new skills to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

DVD Tuesday: Creed and LEGO Justice League: Cosmic Clash

Two new movies out today are: Creed and LEGO Justice League: Cosmic Clash. I didn't see Creed when the movie was in the theater. But I heard it was really good and that Michael B. Jordan did an amazing job with this role.

Now for LEGO Justice League, I absolutely love the LEGO Batman and Justice League movies. And even though the movies are very funny they still have a good story.

Creed

Description:

Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan), son of deceased world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, has boxing in his blood. Looking to win his own title, Adonis heads to Philadelphia and convinces his father's rival-turned-friend, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), to train him – even as Rocky battles his own deadly opponent outside the ring. Now Adonis has a shot, but first he must develop the heart of a true fighter in this new chapter of the Rocky story from critically acclaimed director Ryan Coogler.

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Cosmic Clash

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs Bizarro League

I have to make sure I pick this up, the Justice League teaming up with Bizarro's Justice League to take on Darkseid. I couldn't stop laughing while I watched the LEGO Batman movie hopefully this one is just as funny.

LEGO Batman: The Movie Review

Rating: 5 stars

LEGO Batman: The Movie is based on the LEGO Batman 2 video game.

I never laughed so much watching a superhero movie, this was absolutely wonderful. From the beginning to the rolling credits, this movie is very funny. It's also full of action and has Lex Luthor (voiced by the amazing Clancy Brown) at his best plotting not only to win the Presidential election but teaming up with the Joker to stop Superman and Batman for good. I enjoyed seeing Batman and Robin as a team throughout this movie, it was like watching an episode of Batman: The Animated Series.

There were a lot of characters in this hilarious movie such as: Catwoman, Wonder Woman, Commissioner Gordon, Harley Quinn, Cyborg, The Riddler and more. It was nice seeing a happy Superman again as well as the Justice League helping out.

Another thing I love about this movie was the music, the movie opened with the Batman score by Danny Elfman from the Tim Burton movies (and Batman: The Animated Series). And, whenever Superman would show up the Superman score by John Williams would play. That was a great little nostalgic touch for older fans.

This movie is perfect for everyone to watch, no matter if you're a fan of superheroes or have kids that are.
