This is truly beautiful artwork of Lois Lane and Clark Kent reconnecting at the Kent family farm from the Justice League movie. The artist captured the moment when Clark heard his mother's truck approaching. It was a happy moment for all of them before Clark had to go join the Justice League to help save the day.

Disability Pride Month: Geeky List #1

Happy Thursday!

It's Disability Pride Month and throughout these last couple of weeks I want to post a few Geeky Lists of shows and movies that have disabled characters. Whether they are main, recurring or guest characters, representation is important. Everyone has a story and no two stories are the same. Especially for a community who tends to be overlooked in our society.

For this first list, I included three shows and three movies that highlight a variety of different stories.

Happy 20th and 4th Anniversary, Justice League Animated Series and Justice League Movie!

November 17th marks the 20th anniversary of the Justice League Animated Series and the 4th anniversary of the Justice League movie.

In the animated series which premiered in 2001, DC Comics most iconic heroes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkwoman (Hawkgirl) and Martian Manhunter teaming up for the first time to stop an alien invasion in the three part episode Secret Origins. This is one of my favorite shows, it's so well-written and you got see so many cool stories and characters. The show would eventually expand and become Justice League Unlimited which introduced even more amazing characters and stories.

Also on this day was the 2017 release of the Justice League movie which also had Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman teaming up to stop another alien threat, Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons who was trying to take over the world. I know this theatrical version of the movie was not as well received by fans but I still really like it. The movie had a concise story, good characterization and a lot of action with a good blend of humor. In another post, I wrote about how much I loved the movie (along with a few things I didn't like). It's not a bad movie but I think maybe a lot fans who didn't like it were looking for something similar to the cinematic feel of Man of Steel and Batman v Superman which is now available with the Zack Snyder Justice League movie.

Must See Film: Zack Snyder's Justice League

I'm not sure how, but I totally forgot Zack Snyder's version of Justice League premiered today on HBO Max. I am interested in seeing how this one differs from the theatrical release that was directed by Josh Whedon. I know one difference is that this new version is four hours long. I don't mind watching a long movie but I'm thankful this is not in theaters and can watch it at home and pause it if I need to at any point.

Toy Corner: Wonder Woman Action Figure

It's crazy how cool this Justice League Wonder Woman action figure is. As a collector, I can really appreciation all the attention to detail that's shown in this figure which are so amazing. To me, I love when you find that I-gotta-have-it thing especially something as awesome as this. Ugh, I so want this but for now it's going on my Collector's Wishlist.

Happy Anniversary, Justice League Animated Series and Justice League Movie

Time really does fly by, I can't believe it's the 18th anniversary of the Justice League animated series. The show premiered on the Cartoon Network with the three part episode Secret Origins which featured the iconic characters Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkwoman (Hawkgirl) and Martian Manhunter teaming up to stop an alien invasion.

Not to be forgotten, it's also the two year anniversary for the Justice League movie which had Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash teaming up to stop the Apokoliptic threat of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons from trying to take over the world.

Happy Anniversary to the Justice League animated series and to the Justice League movie both had big heroes and big stories. I hope there will be more shows and movies for us fans to look forward to.

Love That!: Justice League Movie

I know that in general people tend to talk about things they don't like more than they do the things they like. And I'm no exception because I know I do the same thing which is why I'm going to start focusing on things I have enjoyed but rarely talk about with my new column, Love That!. For instance, I realized that I have never said anything about the Justice League movie.

Surprisingly, I actually really enjoyed watching this movie. I feel like they finally got the characters heading in the right direction, Bruce Wayne (Batman) was actually thinking things through instead of being the raging idiot he was in Batman v Superman. While, Diana (Wonder Woman) was dealing with her feelings of isolation and it was nice to see Clark Kent (Superman) not so melancholy as he was in both Man of Steel and Batman v Superman.

It was interesting watching Bruce trying to make amends for the terrible decisions he made in BvS while he tried to put together a team of heroes. I absolutely adored Barry Allen (The Flash) and Arthur Curry (Aquaman)'s zany antics. Meanwhile, it was a little heartbreaking watching Victor Stone (Cyborg) struggle with trying to adjust to not only his new cybernetic body but also a feeling of isolation, but he worked through it. There were a lot of things I like about this movie including the scenes with Lois Lane and Clark at the farm and when Clark's mother Martha showed up. Those were really touching moments.

Justice League had plenty of action, humor and an interesting story, I found it to be far more enjoyable than the chaotic BvS or the depressing Man of Steel. However, it did have a problem with pacing, there were times when it felt like some scenes were moving at a snails pace. And that's a problem someone should have noticed either during filming or the editing process where it could have been fixed. I also had one more issue with the movie and that's with Batman and Lois calling Superman Clark while there were a few police officers nearby. I know they were mostly caught up in the moment of trying to calm down an enraged Superman after he was bought back to life. However, it will be harder for Clark to keep his identity a secret if more people know about it.

Aside from the pacing, this wasn't a bad movie, I don't know if DC Comics and Warner Bros. will continue this movie universe but I wish they would because Justice League felt like they finally listened to many of the complaints about Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. This is a movie that was actually fun to watch.

DVD Tuesday: Justice League, LEGO Flash, Ferdinand, The Shape of Water and Call Me By Your Name

Hey movie fans, there are so many movies out today and at the top of my list are Justice League and LEGO Flash which I will be definitely picking up sometime this week. I'll have to get Ferdinand, The Shape of Water and Call Me By Your Name at another time but I still want to see them.

Aside from LEGO Flash (which is direct to DVD/Blu-ray/Digital), I didn't see any of the other movies in the theatre. I never got around to seeing Justice League meanwhile Ferdinand had the disadvantage of being released in theaters the same day as Star Wars: The Last Jedi. I've heard so much about The Shape of Water and Call Me By Your Name that now I'm interested in seeing them.

Lois Lane Friday: Why is Lois Lane Undervalued in the DCEU's Marketing?

The marketing for Lois Lane for Man of Steel was terrible in both promotion and merchandizing. However, Warner Bros. and DC Comics made up for it with Batman v Superman. Although she did not get a special Batman v Superman Barbie doll as Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman had, she at least received a few things such as a poster, another figure included in a LEGO set and her image on a Dr. Pepper can which included an access code to her chapter of a digital comic that tied into the movie. For a character that's been around for 79 years who continues to have limited merchandise that was truly a step up in that regard.

After the good start of promoting Lois for Batman v Superman I thought it would have continued. But it appears as if they completely forgot about her for Justice League. The merchandizing and promotion this time around was back to being terrible for Lois. She didn't get a poster nor any merchandise. As with the previous movies, there was numerous merchandise created but this time there was nothing that featured Lois. Barbie even created two new dolls for the movie with Wonder Woman getting yet another doll along with the addition of Mera (Queen of Atlantis). It's disappointing because Lois has not had a Barbie since Superman Returns and that was 11 years ago.

Adding to that are new Funko figures that were created for the characters with Lois continuing to be excluded yet again. It's unbelievable that she still does not have a Funko.

Why does Lois Lane continue to be undervalued in the DCEU? Why is she not included in the marketing? She has a fan base that's clamoring for more merchandise yet DC Comics and Warner Bros. continue to not only ignore the fans but Lois as well.

Justice League's Disappointing Box Office Numbers

Wow, I was really surprised Justice League had such terrible box office numbers for the opening weekend. Despite the mixed reviews, I was expecting the movie to at least make more than $96 million. I would have thought seeing all of these characters together in one movie would have peaked some interest but it doesn't seem to be the case. It's a possibility the movie may bring in more money this week since it's the holiday and some might go to the theatre.

I do wonder if some of the people who were disappointed with Batman v Superman made the decision to not even bother going to see Justice League. I haven't seen the movie yet but I heard it's better than BvS, although by a slim margin.

My goal is to see it tomorrow then I can gauge whether it's good, bad or not even worth it.

Weekend Film: Justice League

I have already seen and heard mixed reviews from fans and reviewers for Justice League. My take although I haven't seen this movie but I have seen the others, it feels like DC Comics/Warner Bros. are rushing these movies instead of taking the time to really create something great instead of pushing out mediocre movies (with the except of Wonder Woman). They don't have to rush to make these movies fan interest is not going to go away.

I do hope that when I see Justice League it will be a fun and entertaining movie and not another poorly crafted one.

Book of Interest: Justice League: The Art of the Film

I can't wait to see the Justice League movie which will be in theatres this Friday. I love art of books because I like looking at all the concept art and reading the behind the scenes information. As the unofficial queen of The Art of books, I know I want to add this one to my collection as well. The cover art looks great, I wonder why it wasn't used for a poster.

Gal Gadot at 'The Justice League Experience'

These picture of Gal Gadot at The Justice League Experience in London are so cool. The exhibit which will only be open to the public for two days, today (Nov. 9th) and tomorrow (Nov. 10th), features sets, costumes and props from the upcoming Justice League movie.

I would love to see each exhibit, I'm sure the lucky fans who are able to get tickets for this, are going to thrilled by all the awesome things they'll see on display. Especially since each of the Justice League members has a special room room/exhibit except for Superman (since he's supposed to be dead but we all know he will return).

Toy Corner: The Flash Statue (Justice League movie)

I noticed a lot of fans comparing the Justice League Flash to The Flash from the CW series but why even compare them? Can't we appreciate both? And with that said, here is a statue that I would love to have.

I'm sure by now you know how much I love looking at all the details in statues. And this one is nothing but an amazing mix of details. All I am saying is this statue is everything and I want it.

Toy Corner: Funko Cyborg (Justice League movie)

The latest Justice League movie trailer which was released over the weekend at the New York Comic Con (NYCC already has fans talking. Since the release of the movie is a little over a month away, I thought I would start focusing a bit on the merchandise. And I hope as I search through all the Justice League merchandise that Lois Lane will not be left out or forgotten.

As a Cyborg fan I do wonder how much of his story will be shown in the movie. All that aside, isn't this Funko Cyborg super adorable. I already know that this is going to be one of the first items that I get.

Toy Corner: Superman Statue (Justice League movie)

I don't know anyone who truly thought Superman died in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Nor will it be a shock to anyone when he shows up in the Justice League movie. Which brings me to this stunning JL Superman statue.

Although it's not available until November, you can pre-order it. This is amazing, I would love to have this sitting on my bookcase.
