When will Evan Buckley stand up for himself?

I finally watched this Monday's episode of 9-1-1, Love is in the Air and all I can say is that the writing continues to be terribly inconsistent. The best thing about the episode was Howard "Chimney" Han and Maddie Buckley's engagement story. The rest of the episode just seemed to be all over the place. I'll get to Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz's repetitive situation of questioning romance yet again and this narrative of constantly having others push him into dating. As well as him meeting and possible dating yet another lackluster love interest, Marisol (the DIYer who had an incestual vibe with her brother) in another post because first I want to focus on Evan "Buck" Buckley's situation.

Is 9-1-1 trying to erase Ravi Panikkar from the show?

Why does it feel like the showrunners and writers of 9-1-1 are trying to erase Ravi Panikkar from the show? So far, in all of the episodes that have aired for the sixth season, they have not had one character mention Ravi or question where he is? In last night's episode Tomorrow, there was a scene where Henrietta "Hen" Wilson was looking at the collage on her wall and the camera zoomed in on a picture of the characters and surprise, surprise there was no Ravi. In the picture, he was cut out (and also Karen was covered up by another picture). It's disappointing especially since actors Anirudh Pisharody and Traci Thoms were in that behind the scenes picture of the cast from the fifth season 18th episode Starting Over. There really was no point in cutting either of them out of that picture.

It's really starting to feel like the showrunners and writers are trying to make viewers forget about Ravi by erasing him this season. Despite being a recurring character (who was introduced in the fourth season), Ravi is a very well loved and fan favorite character by viewers and it's becoming glaringly obvious that they have been not so subtly trying to push fan despised recurring character Lucy Donanto (who was introduced in the second half of the fifth season) this season while erasing Ravi. Unlike Ravi, Lucy got a scene in the first episode of the sixth season Let the Games Begin explaining why she wasn't going to be at work for a while. Meanwhile Ravi's disappearance was given no explanation, she was also mentioned a few times throughout that same episode while he has yet to be mentioned. In last night's episode Tomorrow, not only was a flashback scene included of her with the other firefighters from the fifth season 16th episode May Day but also in the picture I mentioned above. Why are they so set on erasing Ravi to continue to push Lucy?

It can't be because Anirudh Pisharody is busy with other acting jobs because so is Arielle Kebbel who plays Lucy. But the showrunners and writers continue to make time to push her character even if she's not even there. If this is what the showrunners and writers are doing it's infuriating and I hope that Anirudh will get offered countless more even better roles than the recurring role he has on 9-1-1.

Video: 2nd Sneak Peek for 9-1-1 6th season premiere episode "Let The Games Begin" (+ a Mini Rant)

So FOX released yet another new sneak peek video for tomorrow night's 9-1-1 sixth season premiere episode and I debated whether to post it or not since I found it be rather disappointing. The scene that's shown has Firefighter Lucy Donato talking about her injury with Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash over a video call while the rest of the team were cleaning up the kitchen and table after most likely lunch. Her talking about her injury isn't the problem, it's that had she not been injured she would have taken over as temporary or Interim Captain.

How could Captain Bobby Nash have even considered her for the job? That's not a good look at all. Why were Howard "Chimney" Han, Henrietta "Hen" Wilson, Evan "Buck" Buckley and Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz not considered for the job? However, someone who has barely been at the 118 for only a few months was offered the job instead? I don't care how much so-called experience Bobby said she had, it doesn't count when she hasn't been at that particular station for only a few months. Since it was already shown in the promo trailer that Hen will be Interim Captain, however, this new information doesn't make it feel like a celebration for Hen. It makes it seem like she only got the job as a last resort or by default because Lucy was injured instead of Hen being the right person for the job. It's so disappointing that the showrunners and writers continue to push this narrative that Lucy is somehow super special and better than everyone else which is definitely not true.

What annoys me is that both Chimney and Hen were at the 118 fire station longer than Bobby and they are both more than qualified to lead the team while he would have been away on his honeymoon. I also think Chimney should have gotten a second chance to prove that he was no longer that "drill sergeant" of a captain that he was back in the second season episodes 17 and 18. However since he recently returned to the job after being away for several months, he probably wouldn't have been ready just yet to take over as Interim Captain again. But to me it feels like such a slap in the face that Lucy would have been offered the job first instead of Hen and Chimney.

As for Eddie, he also recently returned to the job but he still would have been equally qualified to lead the team, I'm sure if he had been offered. Now as for Buck to add insult to injury, in the scene he was seen as not having enough experience and not ready for the job compared to Lucy. However back in the fifth season 14th episode Dumb Luck he had to give Lucy advice and a pep talk because she was feeling out of sort for saving a woman's life simply by luck. If she was so qualified why was she so upset and having doubts over saving someone's life when that's part of her job as a firefighter. So my question is, why is the person Buck had to mentor and give advice to qualified to be Interim Captain, but he isn't?

This scene put a damper on my enthusiasm for the new season because I don't trust the showrunners and writers not to keep pushing this false narrative about Lucy. I hope this sixth season will be good but this is the same crew that wrote and directed the fifth season and that was overall a disaster. Well, I guess I'll see how tomorrow's episode will be but now my expectations will be real low.

Most Memorable Scene: Hen and Chim in Capt. Nash's office trying to find information about Jonah (9-1-1)

Last Monday's 9-1-1 episode Hero Complex was really good. From Firefighters/Paramedics Henrietta "Hen" Wilson and Howard "Chimney" Han investigating Paramedic Jonah Greenway to Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz visiting his family in El Paso, Texas there were so many interesting scenes in this episode. As a mystery fan, I really enjoyed all the scenes of Hen and Chim trying to find as much information as they could about Jonah. They were trying to determine if he was intentionally harming people on emergency calls in order to be a "hero" to save them.

I love the scene below of Hen and Chim sneaking into the firehouse to go into Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash's office to see what information they could find out about Jonah. I can't believe Bobby just left the password to his computer on a Post-it Note that was super easy to find. And not to mention, his office door wasn't even locked. That's not good, Bobby you have a lot important and personal information in your office.

Anyway, I think Hen is really good at picking up on clues and throughout the episode she noticed a lot of them. I also love that when the firefighters returned from an emergency call, Chim was nervous that they would be caught. I thought it was hilarious that Chim wiped down the desk to get rid of his finger prints, even though he missed the keyboard. However, once Hen and Chim were out of the office, they both were quick to think of a reason when they were asked about all the files that Hen was holding.

Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #24: Jonah Greenway, Percy Jackson TV Series and MCU Movie Anniversaries

Happy Friday, I hope you had a good week and hopefully the weekend will be to. I wanted to know what fandom thoughts are on your mind?

- I can't believe I'm saying this but Jonah Greenway is turning out to be a much more interesting new 9-1-1 character than Lucy Donato. I don't understand why the show's marketing team hyped up Lucy so much and not to mention all the interviews promoting the character only for her to be one of the most boring characters on the show. I think they really miscalculated with who they decided to promote especially since Jonah's Angel of Death storyline is so much more interesting.

How to Fix the Problem of Jonah Greenway and Lucy Donato on 9-1-1

After watching Dumb Luck, Monday's episode of 9-1-1, I thought it was a really good episode (I may post a review later) but I couldn't help thinking how unnecessary Jonah Greenway and Lucy Donato were. Both new characters were introduced in the second half of the fifth season and neither one has been very well received by fans because they feel like unnecessary characters added on to an already large cast. One way I thought to have made both of them more interesting is if the writers had Jonah and Lucy being serial killers. There's already something a bit sinister about Jonah while Lucy sort of gives off bad vibes as well.

TV Review: 9-1-1 S5 ep 13: Fear-O-Phobia

I'm not really sure what vision or story the 9-1-1's showrunners and writers are trying to tell for the second half of the fifth season because aside from Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz's storyline the rest of the show feels like a jumbled mess of unnecessary drama to further crappy storylines. There were things I liked about Monday night's episode Fear-O-Phobia and of course things I didn't like.

Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #20: Lydia Martin and Jordan Parrish, Bonnie Bennett, Buck, Eddie and Lucy

Happy Friday! It's been an interesting week, which is why I'd love to know what are some of your fandom thoughts?

- I'm actually starting to get excited about the upcoming Teen Wolf movie. It's going to air on Paramount+ and at the moment there is not official premiere date. I'm really hoping it will have a good script and a bigger budget to really make this a good movie. I also hope that Lydia Martin and Jordan Parrish will finally get a chance to be together because I thought they had so much chemistry in the show. It will be interesting to see what these characters have been up to since the series ended. I'm hoping Lydia wouldn't still be with her high school boyfriend Stiles Stilinski because once they got together in the finale season they didn't really have any romantic chemistry together. I always thought they were better as friends. I guess I'll see, once the movie airs.
