Happy St. Patrick's Day! (+ A Geeky Holiday List)

This day started out with a few little mishaps especially when I was making banana muffins (which turned out pretty good) but that just makes this St. Patrick's Day that much more interesting. St. Patrick's Day is seen as this fun, magical, lucky day and I hope today is just that for everyone. If you're out celebrating, have fun and stay safe.

If you have no plans to go out and celebrate, I have a small geeky holiday list below of a few episodes. I also have three other lists (1, 2 and 3), if you're looking for more shows and a few movies to watch.

Entertainment News #33: Wonder Woman TV Series and The Bear

- Happy Anniversary Wonder Woman TV series! It's the 48th Anniversary of the show. Wonder Woman premiered on November 7, 1975 on ABC with the first episode The New Original Wonder Woman. I've seen this pilot quite a few times, it's a really good adaptation of the comic book. The pilot (which was a movie) which was set in 1942 and told the origin story of Diana, how she met Steve Trevor and how she made it to Man's World and World War II.

- Some good news for fans of The Bear TV series. The show which airs on Hulu has been renewed for a third season by FX. According to reports the third season will air sometime in 2024. I really love watch The Bear, it's an amazing show and I so glad it got renewed.

Happy Monday, the Fourth Day of the Month! (+ a Geeky Holiday List)

Happy Monday, Fourth Day of the Month (formerly known as the 4th of July)!

I'm not feeling the holiday spirit which is why I'm not celebrating Independence Day or the 4th of July. Because what is there to celebrate? It's become meaningless especially with the steady and continuous loss of our rights. That doesn't seem like something to celebrate, does it? That certainly doesn't feel like independence to me. This is a sentiment, I've seen expressed a lot online. And many are saying they are going to do some of the following instead of celebrating:

- Boycotting the holiday
- Wearing either green or black to lament the loss of our rights
- Going to protest around the country
- Going to go on a monetary strike (by not buying anything today, tomorrow and even longer)

Since I'm celebrating Monday, the Fourth Day of the Month, I created a Geeky Holiday List to celebrate. It features the fourth episode of each season of several shows. I couldn't list all the shows in Labels, so scroll through and see if it's something on here you might want to watch.

Super Bowl Geeky Holiday TV List

I know Super Bowl Sunday is seen as the ultimate sporting event/holiday but I have absolutely no interest in watching the game. In the past, I would go to Super Bowl parties mainly to hang out with my friends. But then I realized aside from being with my friends the game was so boring. Ever since then, I would either hang out with like minded non-football friends and I do something fun with them or spend the day by myself doing whatever I wanted.

So, for my fellow non-football fans, I decided to create a geeky football list of shows to watch. I may not like football but I can enjoy it when it's on a show. Whether you watch any of the shows on my list or watch something else, don't forget the snacks.

I want to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day! May we all have good luck in all that we do. Take care everyone, stay home (if possible because I know not everyone can) and wash your hand.

No need for wishful thinking of going out to bars to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, here's your Geeky Holiday list of TV shows and a movie that will have you in a happy mood to enjoy the day.

Three Hairstyles that are Perfect for Working Out

If you have medium-to-long hair, what are your go-to hairstyles when your exercising? For me the three styles that work the best are: ponytails, buns and braids. There are so many different ways to wear these styles but I like the ones that are simple and easy to do. Just make sure it's secure so you won't get distracted by your hair coming undone. Also, don't make the style too tight so you won't feel uncomfortable.

Whatever style you choose should be able to withstand yoga, cardio, dance, weight training and everything in between.

Happy Christmas Eve! (+ 2018 Geeky Christmas TV/Movie List)

Christmas Eve is the perfect time to curl up on the sofa watching Christmas movies and TV shows while you wrap presents. I will admit that I haven't started wrapped my presents yet but I have been enjoying some hot chocolate and eating a few snacks while I watch TV.

Last year, I didn't put up a Geeky Christmas List but I made sure to create one this time. From K.C. Undercover to Wonder Woman, here are five shows that will add to your holiday cheer.

Wonder Woman Wednesday: It's the 43rd Anniversary of the Wonder Woman TV Series Pilot

I can't think of a better way to launch my Wonder Woman Wednesday column than on the 43rd anniversary of the pilot episode of the Wonder Woman TV series which premiered November 7, 1975 on the ABC network.

The pilot which starred Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince was an origin story that followed as Diana won the Amazonian challenge to take an injured Steve Trevor back to America after his plane crashed near Themyscira (or Paradise Island as it was called in this series). Once she arrived in America, it didn't take her long before she joined the fight to stop the Nazis which included stopping Trevor's secretary Marcia who was an undercover Nazi spy. At the end of the pilot, Diana took on the alter ego Diana Prince and got a job in the military as a way to find out more information about the ongoing fight.

The Wonder Woman TV series is iconic and should be celebrated for the ground breaking series that it was. So, Happy Anniversary, Wonder Woman! You're an inspiration and as the theme song goes "You're a Wonder, Wonder Woman".

I Need a Wonder Woman TV Series Marathon!

I'm in need of a Wonder Woman TV show marathon, too bad I don't have the time tonight for one. It should come to no surprise that Wonder Woman is one of my favorite characters, she's a Princess, an Ambassador and a Warrior. She's empowering. I love what she represent such as her compassion for others, her strength of character and her solidarity and respect for women, she is a feminist.

I love watching this show because through all three seasons, Diana never stood back when bad things were happening, she transformed into Wonder Woman to save the day. What else can you ask for in a hero? And not to mention Lynda Carter was great in this role, she exuded all the qualities of Wonder Woman on screen. I really need to find some time this week to watch it.

Happy Vote Day! (+ My Vote Day Watch Party List)

Today, I will be going to vote (I hope you did or will be) and since I'm sure the lines will be long, I will be taking my favorite Voting Day reading material Batgirl: The Greatest Stories Ever Told. I love all the stories in this book and there are several that feature Barbara Gordon running for Congress. She believed that going into politics would give her a bigger opportunity to make a difference and not just in small ways as being a superhero.

Throughout the day to avoid stressing out over the poll results I'm going to have a Vote Day Watch Party. I will be watching a few political themed movies, a miniseries and a few episodes from some of my favorite shows. I may not get to watch everything but I'll do my best. I already have plenty of snacks in the kitchen all I have do is figure out what to watch first.

Hopefully by the end of the evening, I will be a more calm and relaxed person when the election results are in.

Must See TV: Superhero Marathon on the Decades Channel

Guess what? The Decades Channel is airing a superhero marathon, the pilot episode of Wonder Woman is currently airing followed by the Green Hornet, Batman and Adventures of Superman. Different episodes will air throughout the day.

Also airing is a special superhero themed Hollywood Rivals (Batman v Superman) and Through the Decades programs. The marathon will go from now until 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. So, check you local listings to see if the channel is available in your area.

Fashion Meets Comics: Diana Prince's Trench Coat

The classic trench coat never truly goes out of style and can add a touch of sophistication to nearly any outfit. In her trench coat, Agent Diana Prince (a.k.a. Wonder Woman) looked both polished and professional even when she investigated claims of an alien attack.

Fashion Meets Comics: Diana Prince (Wonder Woman): The Wrap Dress

The second season of the Wonder Woman TV series gave Diana Prince a chance to break away from the military suits she wore as a WWII Yeoman officer during the first season. In the first episode of season two "The Return of Wonder Woman", Diana after regaining her title as Wonder Woman returned back to Man's World during the 1970s with an amazing new wardrobe including this dark blue (navy) wrap dress with a white flower print (which I believe is a DVF or Diane von Furstenberg) and a Louis Vuitton brief case. She looked amazingly chic. 

What I love about the wrap dress, is not only is it a fashion classic but it flatters nearly every body type. And it also gave Diana that polished, professional and elegant look she needed for her new job as an agent of the Inter-Agency Defense Command (IADC).
