Hiatus Watch: Will Trent

Happy Friday!

There's only one more day until the New Year, I still can't believe time went by so fast. Well, with the new year comes new shows and one I want to see is Will Trent. It's a mystery/detective series that premieres on Tuesday, January 3rd at 10:00 PM on ABC. The trailer seems interesting and Special Agent Will Trent feels like a cross between Adrian Monk (Monk) and Shawn Spencer and Burton Guster (Psych) with how interesting, slightly weird and observant he is.

I love finding new shows and I can't wait to see this one. What shows are you going to watch during Hiatus Season?

Will Trent                                                 10:00 PM EST                                  Tuesdays on  ABC

Starring: Ramón Rodríguez, Erika Christensen, Iantha Richardson, Jake McLaughlin, Deion Smith, Sonja Sohn, Todd Allen Durkin, Cora Lu Tran, Kurt Yue and more

Now that he is in a position to make a difference, Trent is determined to use his unique point of view to make sure no one is abandoned like he was. His personal motivation and background contribute to him having the highest clearance rate in the GBI.

Art of the Day: Yellow Power Ranger

Artwork: Yellow Power Ranger by Dyana Wang

Since the artist didn't specify whether this was the original Yellow Power Ranger Trini Kwan or her successor Aisha Campbell, I included both in the labels.

What book are you trying to finish reading before the New Year?

Happy Wednesday!

I can't believe we only have three days before we're ringing in a new year. And I was wondering if there is a book you're trying to finish reading? Although this wasn't exactly my best reading year, I do want to close out 2022 with one more review. I have the last 30-something pages to finish reading of Star Wars: Red Harvest by Joe Schreiber and I hope to have my final review up by New Year's Eve on Saturday.

Book: Star Wars: Red Harvest by Joe Schreiber

Description:

Unlike those other Jedi sidelined to the Agricultural Corps—those whose abilities have not proved up to snuff—Hestizo Trace possesses one extraordinary Force taletn: a gift with plants. But suddenly her quiet existence among greenhouse and garden specimens is violently destroyed by the arrival of an emissary from Darth Scabrous, a Sith Lord with a fanatical dream poised to become nightmarish reality. For the rare black orchid that Hestizo has nurtured and bonded with is the final ingredient in an ancient Sith formula—crucial to the Dark Lord's obsession, but with consequences far worse than fatal. Now, spawned by a heretofore unknown virus, the rotting, ravenous dead are rising, driven by a bloodthirsty hunger for all things living—and commanded by a Sith Master who lusts for power and the ultimate prize: immortality...no matter the cost.

Quote: Henrietta Wilson and Evan Buckley

It's 9-1-1 Monday, and although the show may be on hiatus, (there are two repeat episodes on tonight) I thought I'd post this scene and quote from the fifth season Christmas episode, Wrapped in Red. I love Henrietta "Hen" Wilson and Evan "Buck" Buckley's friendship and I've enjoyed seeing more of it during this current sixth season. However, I also want to see more of Hen and Howard "Chimney" Han friendship along with Buck and Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz' friendship as well in the upcoming second half of the season.

In this scene, I always found it interesting during the Christmas party, Hen asked "Where's Eddie?" (which I included in the quotes) instead of asking Buck where his girlfriend Taylor Kelly was. It's just interesting considering Buck asked Hen "Where's Karen?". He asked about her significant other, her wife Dr. Karen Wilson and not about a friend. And I guess Hen did the same thing because although Buck may have been dating Taylor, she truly wasn't his significant other, Eddie was. During the entire fifth season, Buck was shown looking miserable throughout most of his relationship with Taylor and not to mention he cheated on her. He was clinging to a relationship that wasn't working and Taylor did the same thing.

There was only one relationship throughout the fifth season that Buck made any real effort for and it wasn't the one with Taylor, it was Eddie. Surprisingly, the Christmas party was one of the few happy moments for Buck and Taylor, however, this was a relationship that was truly not meant to last.

Buck: Uh, where's Karen?

Hen: She's on her way. She packed up the car with so many donations, there was no room for me or Denny. How you doing? Still feeling less than merry?

Buck: I'm, uh... I'm okay. You know, sure, we're... we're missing some people today, but, hey, I'm thankful for the ones we do have.

Hen: Merry Christmas, Buck.

Buck: Merry Christmas.

Hen: Where's Eddie?

Happy Kwanzaa and Boxing Day

December is full of so many wonderful Holidays and there are two of them today: Kwanzaa and Boxing Day. Today is the beginning of Kwanzaa and to all my readers who celebrate, I would like to wish you a very Happy Kwanzaa!

Although over here in the US we don't officially celebrate Boxing Day, however, we do celebrate shopping the day after Christmas. Which apparently is what Boxing Day has turned into. Anyway, I wish all who celebrate the holiday a Happy Boxing Day!

Short Film: The White Christmas

Happy day after Christmas!

I was going to post this short film yesterday but I completely went unplug for the rest of the day. It was nice, I spent time with family and visited some of my friends exchanging gifts. I also enjoyed being at home relaxing and doing nothing except for watching a little TV which included watching some episodes of The Scooby-Doo & Scrappy-Doo Show animated series. I really think Scrappy-Doo is one of the most annoying characters, he really threw off the vibe of the show.

Anyway, I really like this short film, The White Christmas because it invokes a sense of childlike wonder. I always feel like as you get older, we shouldn't lose our imagination and childlike wonder of the world. I love the magic of the holidays, it makes you feel like you can do anything especially with a little bit of imagination.

Most Memorable Scene: Eddie and Buck take Christopher to see Santa Claus (9-1-1)

I can't believe it's three days before Christmas, the time is just going by way too fast. Anyway, here's an interesting Holiday scene from 9-1-1's season 2 episode Merry Ex-Mas. What's interesting about this scene is that earlier in the episode there was a scene where Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz was in his bedroom with his not so estranged wife Shannon and Eddie had mentioned not knowing what their son Christopher wanted for Christmas. Shannon then asked him "Did you take him [Christopher] to see Santa?". What follows was a fun little moment with Shannon making fun of Eddie being afraid of Santa when he was a kid.

Anyway, what was interesting about this was that Eddie and Shannon had been sleeping together for months but were not really technically back together. However, it seemed like they were sort of on their way to reconciling, but not quite yet. At this point, Shannon still hadn't reconciled with Christopher yet because Eddie was sort of keeping her at arms length because he wasn't sure how to re-introduce Shannon to Chris since she had been gone from their lives for nearly two years. Which is why it's interesting that Eddie didn't invite Shannon to go with him and Chris to see Santa especially since she's the one who mentioned it. Instead Eddie invited Evan "Buck" Buckley who at this point probably only known each other for only a few months (I'm not sure about the show's timeline, so I figured maybe between five to six months).

The scene in the video with Eddie and Buck waiting on Christopher to see Santa is so memorable. Because I think this would have been the perfect moment for Eddie, Chris and Shannon but no the Showrunner and writers decided to put Buck there. They were sitting so close together that it's understandable that Blair the Santa Helper Elf told Buck in that infamous scene that "You two have an adorable son". There was no point including Buck in the Santa scene nor alluding to him and Eddie being parents to Chris. See this is what fans and viewers mean when they talk about how the Showrunners and writers choose to write Buck and Eddie. The writers could have easily had Buck say that him and Eddie were not a couple and Chris was not his son. Especially since the writers had no problem doing just that in the fifth season first episode Panic when Eddie's then girlfriend Dr. Ana Flores was alluded to being Christopher's mother and she said that she wasn't his mother just a friend. So then why have Buck who's supposedly written as just a friend not correct Blair the Santa Helper Elf but have Eddie's girlfriend Ana make a point in saying she's just a friend. Funny enough, that scene with Ana being called Christopher's mother ended up causing Eddie to have a panic attack.

So in not wanting to make this any longer, here's the Eddie, Buck and Christopher scene from the second season 9-1-1 Christmas episode. Happy Holidays everyone!

Entertainment News #16: Luther, Velma, Harley Quinn and Witches

- I'm excited to hear that Idris Elba will be reprising his popular character John Luther for the upcoming Netflix movie Luther: The Fallen Sun. The movie is scheduled to be released sometime in March 2023. According to reports, the movie is about a gruesome serial killer is terrorizing London while brilliant but disgraced detective John Luther sits behind bars. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary. Also, appearing in the film is Cynthia Erivo, Andy Serkis and Dermot Crowley. The movie is written by Neil Cross and directed by Jamie Payne.

(Luther: The Fallen Sun)

Characters Reading: Maddie Buckley

In the 9-1-1 second season episode Buck, Actually, Maddie Buckley was reading on her lunch break in the Dispatch break room when her friend (and soon to be boyfriend) Howard "Chimney" Han stopped by. I always think reading on your break is a good way to get in some good and extra reading time. Especially if your day is really busy and the only time you have to read is on your lunch break. And since Maddie was (I believe) the only one in the break room before Chimney showed up, it looks like she was enjoying a quiet and relaxing moment immersed in her book.

Video: Stephen "tWitch" Boss

I was thinking about Stephen "tWitch" Boss and then I saw this video by Lewis Howes which I figured I'd post. tWitch was an inspiration to so many dancers and from so many of the comments and tributes I've read, he showed tremendous amounts of compassion for others. Although I'm not a professional dancer, I do love to dance and I've been a fan of tWitch's for quite a while. I really feel for his family and friends and send them plenty of love because although we were his fans, those that personally knew him are dealing with a lot.

How do you unwind during the holidays?

The holiday season can be fun but also stressful and draining. Which is why I try to make sure to relax and unwind as much as possible. And some of things I like to do are:

1. A mini stretching session to relax my body

2. Draw or paint

3. Look out the window. If it's too cold to go outside, I like to relax looking out the window. There are a lot trees outside my window and before the sun sets, I always see a lot of squirrels and birds sitting, roaming or flying throughout the branches.

4. Listen to music (and if I'm not too tired I'll get up and dance)

5. Lounging on the sofa curled up in a warm blanket enjoying some of the following:

- Drinking a cup of hot tea or hot chocolate

- Reading my book

- After popping some popcorn, watch a few episodes of some of my favorite shows (which also includes lots of sitcoms and cartoons) and some of my favorite movies

- Put on a moisturizing face mask

- Eat a snack (or two): fruit, chocolate, cupcake, holiday cookies, etc.

So, how are you unwinding during the holidays?

Artwork: Reva by Rebekah Lane

Reva turned out to be an interesting character on the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries. I do hope she will show up again maybe in another Star Wars show or movie.

Most Memorable Scene: Selina Kyle Transforms into Catwoman

Good Morning (or whatever time you're reading this) and Happy Holiday!

I thought I'd post a clip from one of my favorite Christmas movies, Batman Returns. The only thing I can think of when I see this scene is poor Selina Kyle. This mousy woman made the classic mistake of telling Maximillian "Max" Shreck, who was doing something deceitful and unscrupulous that she unintentionally uncovered his secret. Selina just stumbled upon his crooked business while doing her job, she wasn't planning on telling anyone (even though he should have been turned in) but he couldn't take that chance, so he tried to kill her.

In a way, he did. She may have survived falling out of a high-rise building but not without sustaining a head injury that altered her personality. She was no longer a scared mousy little woman but a more confident (if not slightly deranged) woman. A Catwoman so to speak, inside and out. Oh don't worry about Selina, she got her revenge on Max Shreck in the end.

I'm not sure what the moral of the story is, maybe don't wait until you nearly die falling out of a high-rise building to be the person you really want to be. I don't know, Happy Holidays!

Teaser Trailer: Barbie movie

This truly is a teaser trailer because it's not showing anything that will let you know what this Barbie movie is about. I hope it'll be a fun movie, it's certainly colorful. I'm a Barbie fan, I have collected plenty of dolls over the years and I'm actually really looking forward to seeing this movie even though I have no idea what it's about.

Entertainment News #15: Henry Cavill, Cancelled Show and a Play

- I guess there's some continuation to the Henry Cavill news from yesterday (Entertainment News #14), he is planning to star in and produce the Warhammer 40,000 TV series that will air on Amazon. I guess as the old saying goes "every cloud has a silver lining" because he may have lost out on continuing to play Superman but now he will be creating his own project. I don't know anything about Warhammer 40,000, so I did a little research and found out it's a rather popular tabletop miniature wargame. It will be interesting to see how this will be turned into, I'm assuming, a live action TV series.

In a message he posted on Instagram, he wrote:

For 30 years I have dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action. Now, after 22 years of experience in this industry, I finally feel that I have the skill set and experience to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life. Partnering with Natalie Viscuso at Vertigo has been a blessing beyond words, without her we might not have found the perfect home at Amazon. And having a home like Amazon will give us the freedom to be true to the massive scope of Warhammer. To all of you Warhammer fans out there, I promise to respect this IP that we love. I promise to bring you something familiar. And I endeavour to bring you something fantastic that is, as of yet, unseen.

Our first steps are to find our Filmmaker/Creator/Writer. Watch this space, my friends.

Quote: Eddie Diaz and Linda Bates

Eddie: How's your coffee?

Linda: I have to say, I never thought, not in a million years, that I would love a superfood creamer made from coconut milk and marine algae.

Eddie: The algae’s where they get the calcium.

~ Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz and Linda Bates, 9-1-1 season 5 episode 16: May Day

I really enjoyed Eddie and Linda's friendship, when Eddie was working as the LAFD Liaison at 9-1-1 Dispatch during the second half of the fifth season of 9-1-1. It was really nice seeing them have fun little conversations as well as insightful ones and the same goes for his friendship with May Grant. Too bad the showrunner and writers didn't bother to continue either one of those friendships with Eddie in the sixth season. It would have been nice for him to have friends outside of the 118 that is besides Carla Price who is also his son Christopher's caregiver.

Entertainment News #14: Henry Cavill, WestWorld, Superman & Lois and Dreamer

- There's an unfortunate update to the Henry Cavill news I posted back in Entertainment News #12. Back then I reported that he left his role as Geralt from the Netflix TV series The Witcher to return to his role as Superman. Well bad news for us Superman fans, Cavill posted a statement (below) on his Instagram account stating that he will no longer be playing Superman. I guess he doesn't fit the new Warner Bros. Discovery executives' plans for their vision of the DC Comics movies. They really should have let him know they changed their minds about his involvement before he quit his job based on what they had initially told him.

It's disappointing because although I had issues with his performance in Man of Steel (it felt like he was told or directed to be as wooden as possible), but it was so much better in Batman v Superman and Justice League. Here's hoping that the next role Cavill gets will be something that's really amazing.

In Remembrance: Stephen "tWitch" Boss

In saddening news, it's being reported that Stephen "tWitch" Boss has died at the age of 40 years old. It's also being reported that he committed suicide. Although tWitch was most known for being the DJ and later co-host on the talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He was also an actor and dancer. He played the character Jason in one of my favorite dance movie franchises, Step Up (movies Step Up 3, Step Up 4: Revolution and Step Up 5: All In) and was in the recently released The Hip Hop Nutcracker on Disney+.

I've posted this before (and I'll continue to post it) but if you find yourself struggling or feeling overwhelmed by mental health issues please seek help. In the US, the national suicide prevention hotline number is 988, please call and talk to someone if you need to.

Fashion Meets Fandom: Maddie Buckley

On 9-1-1, I noticed that Maddie Buckley's go-to look is a blazer paired with a button down shirt, t-shirt, cami or top, the occasional hoodie and jeans. She's worn this look frequently throughout her five seasons (seasons 2-6) on the show. Whether cute and casual for day or dressed up for a night out, this is a comfort look for Maddie. For this Fashion Meets Fandom, I was inspired by the outfit she wore in the second season episode Careful What You Wish For.

(9-1-1 season 2 episode 17: Careful What You Wish For)

Trailer: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

I loved the first Spider-Man animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, from the story to the animation, it was just amazing. And I hope this second movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be just as good, if not better. The movie will be in theatres June 2, 2023, I can't wait to see it.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Description:

Miles Morales embarks on an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team.

Characters Reading: Shego

In the Kim Possible episode Adventures in Rufus-Sitting, some of the villains including Shego were trying to get a computer chip that Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable had retrieved earlier in the episode. While Ron was away on a family trip in Paris, FR, Kim was pet sitting Rufus who had unknowingly ate the chip when it accidently fell into his food. So when the computer chip activated, that had several villains being alerted and tried to get Rufus to get to the chip.

Before Shego was alerted by the chip's activation, she was waiting in line at Smarty Mart reading the Weekly Wonder newspaper (or magazine). Looking at the front page, this looks like a tabloid paper reporting on random, ridiculous and sensational "news". I can see Shego picking this up and reading it to kill time while she waited in line.

TV Round Up: Questions I have about Grimm's first season finale

I finally finished watching the first season of Grimm, I watched the last two episodes yesterday. I thought the finale episode Woman in Black was really good but now I have questions which I hope will be answered in the second season.

And here are my questions:

1. What did Adalind Schade's give to her cat because when it scratched Dr. Juliette Silverton it did something to her? Since Grimm and Police Detective Nicholas "Nick" Burkhardt caused Adalind to lose her powers is she simply out for revenge against him by going after his girlfriend Juliette? Or is it for some other reason? After Juliette passed out Nick took her to the hospital where she was being kept for observation. But near the end of the episode, she opened her eyes and they were all black. So, I was wondering what did Adalind do to her?

2. Whatever she did to Juliette is it going to turn her into a monster or something else?

3. Also, is it something that Rosalee Calvert can find a cure for?

4. Is the lady (who I figure is a Grimm) with the red hair really Nick's mother? Since he was 12 years old, Nick believed his parents were dead and he had been raised by his Aunt Marie. But in the 20th episode Happily Ever Aftermath he found out that they had been murdered. So, if that lady is his mother why now did she choose to reveal that she was alive? And why is she really there? Because it can't be for old times' sake and getting to know her adult son. I also wonder if his father is alive too?

5. Will Police Detective Hank Griffin finally learn the truth of the supernatural world? Throughout this first season Hank has unknowingly been caught up in it, from being controlled by Billy Capra to Adalind using a potion on him to now seeing a transformed Monroe (although he didn't know it was Monroe) out in the woods to seeing Psychiatrist Constantine Brinkerhof transform back to human after he died. In the finale, Hank was starting to unravel because although he doesn't understand some of the things he has seen he does know he's seen something.

I'm really looking forward to starting the second season because with the way the first season ended, I have to know what happens next. Anyone else new to watching Grimm? This is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows.

Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #29: Robert Nash, Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Alexis Castle and Hayley Shipton

Happy Friday! What fandom thoughts are on your mind? Well, here are some of mine:

- I rewatched the 9-1-1 sixth season mid-season finale episode Red Flag and I was looking at the fire that the 118 put out and it really looks like some one only set a certain section of a grassy area on fire. I do wonder if that couple that Fire Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash is suspicious of perhaps killed his sponsor Wendell and set a fire to get rid of any evidence on the body that showed he had been murdered. And they left drug paraphernalia near the body so it makes it seem as if Wendell overdosed but that still doesn't explain the fire and how the area caught fire. Especially since the fire was in a residential area and not out in the woods. When I first watched the episode when it originally aired (Monday, Nov. 28th), the couple asking Bobby questions about the fire after it was put out immediately set off red flags (hence the title of the episode).

To me as the viewer, the fire seemed suspicious and to Bobby as well and I don't think the Police Detective assigned to the case is going to really look into Wendell's death. Because according to Bobby's wife Police Sergeant Athena Grant, the detective stated that the area where the fire was and where Wendell's body was found is a known area for drug users. Which makes me think that the detective isn't going to make too much of an effort to really investigate Wendell's death. They'll probably write it down as a overdose. But then how do you explain the fire because if he some how died from an overdose, how did the fire start? See this is probably why Bobby is going to take it upon himself to investigate Wendell's death and the couple he thinks may be behind it since the police probably won't really look into it. I'm really interested to see how this story is going to unfold in the second half of the season.

(9-1-1 season 6 episode 9: Red Flag)

Art of the Day: Harry Potter

Artwork: Harry Potter by smelslikeart

This is so sad but it truly highlights how intentionally cruel and awful Harry's Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon Dursley were to him. Which also included making him sleep in the small and cramped space under the stairs. That is until they were scared and gave Harry his cousin Dudley's second bedroom. Out of the three, Dudley was the only one that changed and that was only after being affected by the Dementors when they had attacked him and Harry. So if it wasn't for that, I doubt Dudley would have ever changed.

Hiatus Watch: Midnight, Texas

I guess so far my winter Hiatus Watch has a bit of a supernatural theme with Darby and the Dead and Wednesday and now Midnight, Texas.

Midnight, Texas is a slightly new to me series because I vaguely remember hearing about it. I guess at the time when the first season originally aired back in 2017, I just wasn't interested in watching it. Although the show was cancelled it stayed on for two seasons with 19 episodes. I recently bought the dvds and figured there's no better time to watch it than now. From the trailer, it really does seem like an interesting show.

What shows have you been watching during Hiatus Season?

Midnight, Texas

Starring: François Arnaud, Dylan Bruce, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Arielle Kebbel, Peter Mensah, Jason Lewis, Sarah Ramos, Yul Vazquez, Bernardo Saracino, Jaime Ray Newman, Joanne Camp, Joe Smith, Nestor Carbonell, Kellee Stewart and more

Creators: Monica Owusu-Breen, Eric C. Charmelo and Nicole Snyder

Based On: the book series Midnight, Texas by Charlaine Harris

Quote: Howard Han and Maddie Buckley

(9-1-1 season 6 episode 1: Let the Games Begin)

I like this scene because although Chimney and Maddie were still broken up (from last season), they still care about (and love) each other. And they were continuing to do a good job co-parenting their daughter Jee-Yun. Since Maddie's apartment was having plumbing problems (I believe a pipe burst in her kitchen), Chim didn't want her to have to try to find a hotel at the last minute when she could easily stay with him. Which is why I'm glad the writers didn't drag out their break up and they got back together at the end of this episode because they truly do love each other. And as a fan of these characters and their relationship, it's good to see these two happy and together.

Chimney: Is that the landlord?

Maddie: Yeah. I should have water by tomorrow. Or Wednesday.

Chimney: Sounds like your landlord needs to find a better plumber.

Maddie: Yeah. And I'm gonna need a hotel room because I can't go four days without running water.

Chimney: You know who else has running water? Me. Why don't you just stay here? I'll crash on the couch. You girls can have the bedroom.

Maddie: Yeah, I wouldn't want to impose.

Chimney: Maddie...we're still family, hmm? That's what we do. We look out for each other. Don't we, Baby Jee?

~ Howard "Chimney" Han and Maddie Buckley, 9-1-1 season 6 episode 1: Let the Games Begin

Hiatus Watch: Wednesday

It's the start of Hiatus Season and now that some of my favorite shows are on a break, it's a good time to see what other shows are out there. A show that's at the top of my list is the Netflix series, Wednesday. I'm a big fan of The Addams Family and I'm interested in seeing this latest adaptation that centers on Wednesday Addams.

The trailer makes me think of Harry Potter, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Riverdale and Legacies more so than The Addams Family and I guess that's because the show will mostly focus on Wednesday instead of the entire family. Regardless, I'm still interested in seeing this.

Fandom: The Rookie Fans, Congratulations on Lucy and Tim's Romance

It must be nice being a fan of The Rookie TV series right now because two characters that fans have been wanting to get together for a long time, Lucy Chen and Tim Bradford are finally getting that chance to do just that. It must be nice when the showrunners and writers actually listen to fans and acknowledge the chemistry between two characters they initially had no plans in putting together.

(The Rookie season 5 episode 9: Take Back)

It really makes me wish the showrunner and writers for 9-1-1 were supportive and not dismissive of the amazing chemistry fans see between Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz and Evan "Buck" Buckley and took a chance by putting them together. This is a very beloved ship with two characters that fans love who care about each other very much and I've said this before that if either Buck or Eddie had been a woman, they would have gotten together either in the third or fourth season. Instead the showrunner and writers keep trying to introduce and force lackluster love interests for Eddie and Buck instead of letting them be together.

(9-1-1 season 3 episode 3: The Searchers)

I used to watch The Rookie when it first aired (back when Lucy was dating John Nolan) but I had gotten so behind on episodes I never went back. It's a good show, maybe I'll go back to it. I'm really happy for the fans because I've seen so many comments and posts about Tim and Lucy and how fans hoped they would get together. And I think it's cool to see fans celebrate something they had only hoped and wished would happen. As a 9-1-1 fan, it would really be nice to have that same opportunity to celebrate Buck and Eddie getting together. Maybe the 9-1-1 showrunner will see the positive reviews and fan excitement and celebration for Lucy and Tim and would consider taking that same chance for Buck and Eddie but I'm not holding my breath.

Trailer: Darby and the Dead

I hope everyone had a good weekend! I was totally unplugged all weekend (hence the no posts) and got in some really good reading. Which is probably why I'm just now hearing about this movie Darby and the Dead. This supernatural comedy premiered last Friday (Dec. 2nd) on Hulu and it centers on teen psychic Darby Harper who apparently is being harassed by the ghost of a Queen B bully who won't leave Darby alone unless she helps her.

Okay, this feels like Medium/Ghost Whisperer meets Mean Girls and I can't wait to watch this. And since 9-1-1 is on hiatus maybe I'll watch this tonight.

Seasons Creepings everyone!

Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #28: I Know What You Did Last Summer, Evan Buckley, Lupita Nyong'o and Binge Watching

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's already the end of the week, time is moving along way too fast. It's already a new month. Anyway, here are some of my fandom thoughts. What are yours?

- I would love another I Know What You Did Last Summer movie starring the original cast: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe and from the sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer: Brandy and Mekhi Phifer. I don't really care how it happens, they can totally be new characters who are tourists on vacation and the plot could be similar to the first movie with the six characters some how got involved in an accidental death and have to deal with a killer seeking revenge. I really don't care what the plot would be, I just want another movie with this cast.

Trailer: Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3

Apparently, today is the day for trailers to be released, first is Transformers: Rise of the Beast and now Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3. After all the fun and happiness in the holiday special, this upcoming third movie looks like it's going to have an emotional impact with the story.

I do wonder if any of the other Sovereign (from GotG vol 2) will appear or is it only just Adam Warlock? Either way, this looks really good. As with Transformers, I can't wait to see this, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 is scheduled to be in theatres May 5, 2023.

Trailer: Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

As soon as I saw this trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, I had to post it. I can't wait to see it, the movie is scheduled to be in theatres June 9, 2023. This looks really interesting and I like that they are slowly continuing this soft reboot with the Transformers franchise.
