Quote: The Sanderson Sisters (Hocus Pocus)

Winnie: Therefore, it stands to reason, does it not, sisters dear that find the book, brew the potion and suck the lives out of the children of Salem before sunrise. Otherwise it's curtains! We evaporate! We cease to exist! Dost thou comprehend?

Mary: You explained it beautifully, Winnie. The way you sort of started out with the adventure part...And then you sort of slowy—

Sarah: Explained what?

Happy Halloween! (+ a Geeky Holiday List)

Happy Halloween!

It's the final day of the month and one of the best since it's Halloween. Did you celebrate over the weekend or are you planning something for today? The only thing I did over the weekend was go to my favorite bookstore on Saturday because there was a fun little Halloween themed event and sale (I got a few books). Later that night, I went over to my friend's house for a mini horror movie marathon. So tonight, I'm just going to relax at home and watch TV while eating some Halloween candy.

And speaking of watching TV, for this geeky Halloween list, I kind of went old school/retro/modern classics for most of the picks. Hopefully, there's something on the list that will interest someone. Here's also the links to my two (1 and 2) previous geeky lists. Well, ghouls and goblins, I hope everyone will have a spooktacular Halloween!

It's almost Halloween, what are your weekend plans? Staying in to watch horror movies, going to a party or something else? Whatever your plans are, Happy Halloweekend!

Okay, are you a good omen or a bad omen? ‘Cause, you know, I Googled you, and the old wives are kind of divided on this question.

Entertainment News #11: Nancy Drew Cancelled, Superman & Lois, Percy Jackson and more

For anyone new to Book Girl, for this post, I like to highlight various entertainment news from books to movies and shows.

- According to reports, the Nancy Drew TV series on The CW has been cancelled, the upcoming fourth season will be the final one. Although it deviated from the books by adding a supernatural element to the show along with changing various things about the characters, it quickly found a fan base. The premiere date for the fourth season hasn't been announced yet but it's been stated that the show will air sometime next year.

Trailers for tonight's episodes of Kung Fu: Harmony and Big Sky: The Bag and the Box

Who else is watching Kung Fu and Big Sky? I feel like both of these show are overlooked gems of good TV. With both shows you get action, drama, family and friendship drama, a little romance, humor, heroics, intriguing mysteries, unapologetic villains and interesting characters (and a few that are very quirky). Which to me equals two entertaining hours worth tuning in for. So, if you're looking for something new (or new to you) consider giving Kung Fu and Big Sky a watch.

Kung Fu season 3 episode 4: Harmony                                 9:00 PM EST                                                 The CW

Description:

However, things take an unexpected turn when the Shen’s receive a mysterious threat on the eve of the restaurant’s reopening. Elsewhere, Jin faces a new challenge, and Ryan (Jon Prasida) scrambles to find Sebastian the perfect gift.

What Are Some of Your Favorite Fall Essentials?

With the leaves changing colors and chilly fall weather, I was wondering what are some of my favorite fall essentials. Here are a few of mine:

- Fall clothes (especially cozy sweaters)
- Being out in nature (going for walks and taking pictures of all the leaves changing colors)
- Cozy blanket (perfect for curling up in when I'm reading or watching TV)
- Drinking hot cider, hot cocoa (with marshmallow or whipped cream) and hot tea
- Some good books to read
- Watching and rewatching some of my favorite shows and movies
- Soup
- Fall décor (pillows, throw blankets, mugs, etc.)

Trailer: Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania

I totally have mixed feelings about this trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania which the movie will be in theatres on February 17, 2023. First impression, it feels like I'm looking at a Star Wars movie with Marvel characters. Second, I love the film score or orchestral music that's playing throughout the trailer (I don't how I completely disregarded the song that was playing).

Second, I love that Michelle Pfeiffer continues to be in the Ant-Man and MCU movies as Janet Van Dyne. And third, it doesn't look that interesting. Maybe it's better than what's shown in the trailer. I know they're trying to get more into the sci-fi world of the Ant-Man stories but I think what really worked for the MCU Ant-Man was him dealing with more grounded or small adventures. I'm usually one for sticking with more comic book elements but this just feels like a scrapped Star Wars screenplay that was reworked for Ant-Man.

Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne explore the Quantum Realm and embark on an adventure that goes beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.

Is 9-1-1 trying to erase Ravi Panikkar from the show?

(9-1-1 season 4 episode 6: Jinx)

Why does it feel like the showrunners and writers of 9-1-1 are trying to erase Ravi Panikkar from the show? So far, in all of the episodes that have aired for the sixth season, they have not had one character mention Ravi or question where he is? In last night's episode Tomorrow, there was a scene where Henrietta "Hen" Wilson was looking at the collage on her wall and the camera zoomed in on a picture of the characters and surprise, surprise there was no Ravi. In the picture, he was cut out (and also Karen was covered up by another picture). It's disappointing especially since actors Anirudh Pisharody and Traci Thoms were in that behind the scenes picture of the cast from the fifth season 18th episode Starting Over. There really was no point in cutting either of them out of that picture.

(9-1-1 season 6 episode 6: Tomorrow                       9-1-1 season 5 episode 18: Starting Over behind the scenes)

It's really starting to feel like the showrunners and writers are trying to make viewers forget about Ravi by erasing him this season. Despite being a recurring character (who was introduced in the fourth season), Ravi is a very well loved and fan favorite character by viewers and it's becoming glaringly obvious that they have been not so subtly trying to push fan despised recurring character Lucy Donanto (who was introduced in the second half of the fifth season) this season while erasing Ravi. Unlike Ravi, Lucy got a scene in the first episode of the sixth season Let the Games Begin explaining why she wasn't going to be at work for a while. Meanwhile Ravi's disappearance was given no explanation, she was also mentioned a few times throughout that same episode while he has yet to be mentioned. In last night's episode Tomorrow, not only was a flashback scene included of her with the other firefighters from the fifth season 16th episode May Day but also in the picture I mentioned above. Why are they so set on erasing Ravi to continue to push Lucy?

It can't be because Anirudh Pisharody is busy with other acting jobs because so is Arielle Kebbel who plays Lucy. But the showrunners and writers continue to make time to push her character even if she's not even there. If this is what the showrunners and writers are doing it's infuriating and I hope that Anirudh will get offered countless more even better roles than the recurring role he has on 9-1-1.

Trailer for tonight's episode of 9-1-1: Tomorrow

Happy 9-1-1 Monday! What did you think of last week's episode Home Invasion? Well, for the most part I really liked it, I loved seeing Hoover and his little journey going from one member of the fire family to another until he eventually found his forever home. I still wish his forever home was with Robert "Bobby" Nash and Athena Grant but it didn't work out. I'm also happy that Henrietta "Hen" Wilson passed her exam and is now a doctor. But it's bittersweet because although I know she will be a good doctor, she was amazing as a firefighter/paramedic. As for the only part that I found disappointing, it was with 9-1-1 Dispatcher Noah Carmack and his connection to the homes that were being robbed. I think that was a poorly written and recycled storyline that the showrunners and writers used last season with the new guy (Jonah Greenway) turning out to be bad.

However, unlike Jonah, Noah wasn't really bad, he got himself in a bad and desperate situation trying to help his family after his step-father got in debt to some bad guys. They not only beat up Noah's step-father but threatened to hurt his mother as well if he didn't figure out a way to pay them back. Noah was in a lose-lose situation and I wish there had been some sympathy given towards him because he was a nice guy who was desperate and in over his head. There was no need for Maddie Buckley to be wired to entrap him because he willingly told her everything. There was also no reason to handcuff him and walk him out of dispatch like that, he was no threat especially since the viewers didn't see the actual bad guys who had guns get handcuffed. I'm not excusing what he did because it was wrong to give information to the bad guys but he wasn't some criminal mastermind or kingpin, he just unfortunately made a bad decision. I really didn't see the point in introducing yet another new character and have them turn out to be bad, that's lazy writing. And a waste of a good actor because Alfonso Caballero would have been a perfect addition to dispatch especially since May Grant is no longer working there now that she's in college.

Anyway, for tonight's episode Tomorrow, I'm hoping it will be good but I really hope they don't kill off Dr. Karen Wilson. Fans and viewers (myself included) have been asking (if not begging) for Karen to get more scenes and screentime but not if it results in the character being killed off. I also hope Hen (or should I say Dr. Henrietta "Hen" Wilson) can deal with being on the sidelines and not being able to do anything to rescue Karen and their son Denny now that she's not a firefighter/paramedic. But from the trailer it looks like she somehow was allowed to do CPR on her wife (at least that's who I think it is). Again, I really don't want Karen to be killed off. I always feel like killing off characters (even if the actors want to leave a show) is lazy writing used for shock value instead of writing a really good ending for the character to send them off. Anyway, I can't wait to watch tonight's episode.

9-1-1 season 6 episode 6: Tomorrow                                 8:00 PM EST                                                 FOX

Description:

Hen fears for Karen's life when an explosion rocks her science lab on the day she brings Denny to work with her.

Star Style: Ronen Rubinstein, Brian Michael Smith and Rafael Silva

I can't wait for 9-1-1: Lone Star to return in January for the show's fourth season. Until then, here's a fashionable look at three of the show's actors. Yesterday, Ronen Rubinstein, Brian Michael Smith and Rafael Silva attended the Outfest Legacy Awards which celebrates LGBTQIA+ representation in film and media. They each wore eye-catching suits, you know what I love about fashion is that men's suits are no longer boring and basic, they're a lot more fun and creative.

Ronen wore a Mans gray oversized plaid suit paired with Alexander McQueen boots. Brian wore a Dolce & Gabbana black and white graffiti print denim jacket and jeans and a black turtle neck paired with black patent leather (or faux leather) shoes. I'm not sure if the shoes are D&G but they could be as well. Rafael wore an Ocean Rebel sky blue double-breasted blazer and matching pants and a Weishen Paris white mesh top and paired with black Gucci loafers.

They each have their own amazing look and I love that there is a mixture of bold prints and textures. It all has a timeless yet modern feel.

Fall Watch: The Peripheral trailer

There are so many TV shows airing, which is why over the summer I created Hiatus Watch to post as many of the new (or new to me) shows during the off season. I also created Fall Watch for the fall shows that I'm interested in such as this new sci-fi series The Peripheral. The first season which will have eight episodes premiered last Friday (October 21) with the first two episodes. I'm really looking forward to watching this show, the trailer looks good and the story about a virture reality that is alternate future. It just seems really interesting.

The Peripheral (Prime)

Mythology Monday: Aru Shah and the End of Time

I know I haven't posted a Books of Interest in a while let alone a book for Mythology Monday. Between experiencing a reading or readers slump and feeling a little reading burnout, I've had very little interest in reading let alone looking at any books. However, I'm still (slowly) reading Supernatural: Nevermore by Keith R.A. DeCandido and I'm almost finished with it but my reading slump is making it difficult.

So, this morning when I woke up actually interested in reading as well as looking for a book, I was a happy little bookworm. It didn't take long before I found Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi, it's the first book in a middle grade fantasy that's inspired by Indian mythology. The description totally sparked my interest and I have to admit I immediately ordered it. It's seems like a fun and interesting read with Aru Shah finding herself on an adventure trying to stop Sleep, the God of Destruction. I really can't wait to read it.

Book: Aru Shah and the End of Time (Pandava book #1) by Roshani Chokshi

Description:

Best-selling author Rick Riordan introduces this fantasy adventure by New York Times best-selling author, Roshani Chokshi, inspired by the great epics she grew up on.

Twelve-year-old Aru Shah has a tendency to stretch the truth in order to fit in at school. While her classmates are jetting off to family vacations in exotic locales, she'll be spending her autumn break at home, in the Museum of Ancient Indian Art and Culture, waiting for her mom to return from her latest archeological trip. Is it any wonder that Aru makes up stories about being royalty, traveling to Paris, and having a chauffeur?

One day, three schoolmates show up at Aru's doorstep to catch her in a lie. They don't believe her claim that the museum's Lamp of Bharata is cursed, and they dare Aru to prove it. Just a quick light, Aru thinks. Then she can get herself out of this mess and never ever fib again.

But lighting the lamp has dire consequences. She unwittingly frees the Sleeper, an ancient demon whose duty it is to awaken the God of Destruction. Her classmates and beloved mother are frozen in time, and it's up to Aru to save them.

The only way to stop the demon is to find the reincarnations of the five legendary Pandava brothers, protagonists of the Hindu epic poem, the Mahabharata, and journey through the Kingdom of Death. But how is one girl in Spider-Man pajamas supposed to do all that?

Video: LMNTRIX's Mad Scientist video entry for The Vortex dance competition (Step Up 5)

It's only eight more days until Halloween and I wanted to start posting more fun and spooky stuff. Here's a video from Step Up 5: All In. I always thought LMNTRIX's video entry for The Vortex dance competition had the perfect Halloween vibe with their mad scientist inspired performance.

I wish the video entries for The Mob, The Grim Knights and some of the other contestants were also shown. Because it would have been interesting to have seen whatever dances and performances they had come up with. If not shown in the movie (as perhaps a montage scene) then at least those videos should have been included in the bonus or special features section for the DVD/Blu-ray.

Book Girl Thoughts: Saturday Morning and Weekend Films

I just got back from a walk, it's so nice and sunny outside. It really is a wonderful fall day. Sorry for not posting Weekend Films this morning, I ended up sleeping in longer than I thought. I rarely ever sleep in because I like to get up early and start my day. But I was tired after staying out a little late last night hanging out with some friends. It was nice to get out but in the morning I was tired so I stayed in a slept a little longer.

As for Weekend Films, I so want to see the DC Comics movie, Black Adam, which seems like it'll be a fun watch. As for the other movies, Hallmark has two new Christmas movies: We Wish You a Married Christmas at 8:00 PM EST on Hallmark Channel and We Need a Little Christmas at 10:00 PM EST on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Since, it's too early for Christmas movies for me (I'm totally in a Halloween spooky mood), I'll tape and watch them later. Meanwhile Lifetime has a new drama Swindler Seduction that's also on at 8:00 PM EST.

Before I go make myself a relaxing cup of tea, I just wanted to post this and say Happy Saturday!

Fashion Meets Fandom: Dr. Karen Wilson's Pajamas

I love the coziness of fall, it's the season we start to pull out the cozy sweaters and pajamas. As with fashion in general, sleepwear doesn't have to be boring for instance I really like the pajamas that Dr. Karen Wilson wore on Monday night's 9-1-1 episode Home Invasion. As soon as I saw her zodiac pajamas, I knew it would be perfect for Fashion Meets Fandom.

(9-1-1 season 6 episode 5: Home Invasion)

Karen's pajamas are so cute and fun and sophisticated. I love how colorful all the zodiac signs are and they really standout against the navy blue. In putting together this FMF, I actually found the exact pajama set that was on the show but I also included five more that have a similar look and feel.

Trailers for tonight's episodes of Kung Fu: The Compass and Big Sky: Flesh and Blood

It's Wednesday, that means it's new episodes of Kung Fu and Big Sky. I can't wait to watch both episodes and from looking at the trailers, both shows are going to be good. So far, the third season of both shows have been rather amazing and I can only hope that it continues for the rest of the season.

What shows are you watching tonight?

Star Style: Nicole Maines, Azie Tesfai and Javicia Leslie

Actresses Nicole Maines, Azie Tesfai and Javicia Leslie attended ACLU Southern California Bill of Rights Awards on Sunday, October 16th and they each look stunning. Nicole is wearing beautiful Pamella Roland black dress with a pearl embellished collar and bow on the back. Azie is wearing a colorful and cute yellow halter wide-leg jumpsuit and Javicia is wearing a black sequin halter dress.

This picture makes me miss watching both of The CW's DC Comics TV series: Supergirl (Nicole was Nia Nal/Dreamer and Azie was Dr. Kelly Olsen/Guardian) and Batwoman (Javicia was Ryan Wilder/Batwoman).

Beauty: Two Overnight Masks

I know I don't post a lot of beauty products but there are two overnight masks that I was interested in trying. And I was wondering if any of you have tried either one or both of these products? I've mentioned before that where I live is so drying and I'm always looking for ways to keep my skin hydrated especially at night while I'm sleeping. Which is why I was thinking of trying either the Burt's Bees or the Pacifica face mask. I wonder if these overnight mask will be good to use on my hands and feet as well.

If any of you have used either product, let me know what you think of them.

1. Burt's Bees Hydrating Overnight Face Mask (2.5oz)       Retail Price: $14.99

2. Pacifica Wake Up Beautiful Super Hydration Sleepover Face Mask (2oz)     Retail Price: $15.99

Trailer for tonight's episode of 9-1-1: Home Invasion

I know I'm totally cutting it close posting this right before tonight's episode airs. What did you think of last week's episode Animal Instincts? I thought it was good and the title went perfectly with a lot of the stories with characters making a lot of decisions that didn't seemed thought out. A lot of rash decisions especially in regards to Evan "Buck" Buckley because I can't see his decision to be a sperm donor for his old friend Connor and Connor's wife Kameron to turn out well in the long run. I really don't think Buck can truly be okay being a donor and not being a father but I guess I'll see how this will turn out as the season (or series) goes on.

As for tonight's episode Home Invasion, I certainly don't believe Maddie Buckley has anything to do with all the break-ins. However, there seem to be a lot fans speculating that the new 9-1-1 Dispatcher Noah Carmack is connected to a number of break-ins. But I don't. Because last season, the Showrunners and writers already had the new Firefighter/Paramedic Jonah Greenway turn out to be a bad guy. He was intentionally harming patients on emergency calls to be a hero in saving their lives. Which is why I can't see them doing a similar thing with the new guy Noah with having him feed information to crooks but I could be wrong. However, I think it might be someone else probably a character who although has worked at dispatch for some years but has never been on screen until this episode. Such as with the Dispatcher Gloria Wagner in the second season who had been hanging up on callers, she had worked at dispatch for years but was only shown for the first time during second season fifth episode Awful People.

I'm really looking forward to seeing tonight's episode and find out who is actually behind all the break-ins.

9-1-1 season 6 episode 5: Home Invasion                                 8:00 PM EST                                                 FOX

Description:

Athena investigates when the same house is hit with two home invasion 911 calls within hours of each other. While the 118 race to the rescue when a man is trapped in an attic. Star Style: Lauren Ridloff

A little flashback fashion for Sunday, actress Lauren Ridloff wore this really beautiful eye-catching and colorful Naeem Khan floral sequin pant suit at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) back in July. She was there promoting her TV series The Walking Dead and I remember seeing pictures of this suit and thinking it was amazing.

This suit is a totally statement piece and I love that she kept the styling to a minimum with only pairing it with hoop earrings and strappy black sandals. Her hair and makeup is simple yet stunning, her curly hair was up in a classic high ponytail and her red lipstick and fuchsia nail polish really added another fun pop of color to her look.

I love that this is still a very classic and elegant look but the bright colors and floral makes it feel very fun and summery.

Weekend Films: Autumn in the City, Halloween Ends, Let's Get Physical and The Curse of Bridge Hollow

Happy Saturday!

I hope everyone is having a good start to the weekend and do you have any movie plans? Well, I have four movies that seem very interesting: Autumn in the City, Halloween Ends, Let's Get Physical and The Curse of Bridge Hollow.

The first movie seems really cute, Autumn in the City is a romantic comedy set in New York City with a woman trying to find herself and maybe even find a little romance. Next is Halloween Ends, the final movie in the Halloween series, with Laurie Strode going up against Michael Myers for the last time. The next is the drama Let's Get Physical that's based on a true story with the movie following Sadie a fitness instructor who is also a prostitute. And last is The Curse of Bridge Hollow a supernatural comedy set during Halloween when a ghost is accidently released and is causing terror throughout the town.

All four movies are a must see for me. Now all I have to do is to remember to grab my snacks so I can sit back and enjoy these movies.

Autumn in the City                                                 8:00 PM EST                                        Hallmark Channel

Fandom Friday: Random Fandom Thoughts #26

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's already the end of the week. What are some your fandom thoughts?

- I can't believe this picture below of 9-1-1 characters Edmundo "Eddie" Diaz and Evan "Buck" Buckley was posted on the official FOX España TV Instagram account and as of now it's still there and has 2,018 likes (and counting). So either, this official account just posted an edited picture and meme for fun or they are slyly confirming that Buck and Eddie will be going canon this season. Which is what a lot of fans (myself included) are hoping for.

The way these characters are written and the way the story that's continued to be told really shows just how perfect they are for each other. As best friends their relationship wouldn't change much except with a little intimacy such as kissing, hugs and shown being in bed together (9-1-1 isn't know for being racy) from what it currently is if they were written into a romantic relationship. Because they are already showing them in a very domestic and coupley way minus the intimacy.

Are you behind or caught up on reading your comic books?

I am so completely behind on reading my comic books. I'm at the point where I feel like I'm collecting them instead of reading them. I don't know how I got so behind but I need to figure out some kind of way or system to help me get caught up. There are so many stories that I'm missing out on because the books are in bags and boxes. I really want to get caught up and I don't know if I should start with this week's new comics or some of the older ones, either way I'll figure it out.

Video: Peter Krause, Kenneth Choi and Ryan Guzman behind the scenes of 9-1-1 episode Animal Instincts

I'm really enjoying the sixth season of 9-1-1, so far all the episodes that have aired have been really good. I need to write up my thoughts for all four episodes because this season is off to a good start. Anyway, I saw this fun little behind the scenes video of Peter Krause, Kenneth Choi and Ryan Guzman filming the Greek party scene from last night's episode Animal Instincts and wanted to post it.

Animal Instincts was a great episode and although I love Bobby, he totally stole that dog Hoover after they saved it's life. All that aside, I'm glad Hoover will be going to a loving home (Athena and Bobby's).

Quote: Taylor Doose and Luke Danes (Gilmore Girls)

(Gilmore Girls season 3 episode 7: They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They?)

Taylor: Breathe in folks, smells like fall.

Luke: Get out Taylor.

Taylor: Why?

Luke: Just a code I live by.

~ Taylor Doose and Luke Danes, Gilmore Girls season 3 episode 7: They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They?

Taylor Doose is so annoying, I can understand why Luke Danes told him to get out of his diner. Taylor is always going around Stars Hollow acting as if he owns the town and telling everyone what they can and can't do. I still find it annoying in the fourth season premiere episode Ballrooms and Biscotti, how he named Rory Gilmore Stars Hollow Ice Cream Queen without telling her. Then got mad and tried to make her feel bad because she couldn't appear at his Ice Cream shop to greet the crowd because she was in the process of getting ready to go to college. He just expected her to show up, who cares if she had things to do. Not to mention, he never asked her to be the Ice Cream Queen. Anyway, Taylor is annoying.

Trailer for tonight's episode of 9-1-1: Animal Instincts

Last week's 9-1-1 episode The Devil You Know was so good, it was like a mini movie (same as the fifth season episode Boston which was also really good). As for tonight's episode, Animal Instincts seems like it's going to be interesting and reading over the description, seems like a lot is happening. I guess the birdwatcher rescue is the last emergency for Interim Captain Henrietta "Hen" Wilson since Captain Robert "Bobby" Nash is shown being back for the drunk driver emergency. I wonder when Hen is going to make her decision whether to continue medical school and quit being a Paramedic/Firefighter or choose to stay as a Paramedic/Firefighter and give up going to medical school?

In the second episode of the season, Crash & Learn, Hen was shown being stretched thin and feeling like she messed up on everything. But to me she might have been a little overwhelmed with her extremely busy schedule, however, she did an excellent job as Interim Captain. I can see her being a Captain in the future if she continues to be a Paramedic/Firefighter but I can also see her being a Doctor as well. As a fan of the show, I hope the writers will have her choose to stay as a Paramedic because I don't want to see her character leave or get limited screen time since she would no longer be a first responder.

Anyway back to tonight's episode, it looks like Maddie Buckley will once again be faced with helping someone in an abusive situation. Hopefully, she will deal with it better than she did in the third season when she had tried to help Tara. Meanwhile, Howard "Chimney" Han is in a terrible situation after being abducted by a drunk driver and I can't believe Evan "Buck" Buckley riding a bike thought he could stop the driver. Hopefully, he doesn't get hit by the car and if he does it's only a minor injury. I can't wait to see tonight's episode.

Why does 9-1-1 keep releasing so many clips before the show airs?

It's 9-1-1 Monday and I'll be posting the trailer for tonight's episode later but for now I have a question, why does the marketing team for 9-1-1 always release so many clips and scenes of any of the episodes before they air? I know I wrote something about it before, but I really don't get it? I know they want to promote the show and pique viewers interest but you don't want to show too much and risk ruining the viewing experience giving away too much of the plot and storylines.

I know I posted two clips for the sixth season premiere episode Let the Games Begin but that's the only time I did. I don't like to watch sneak peeks or scenes, I like to be surprised when I watch a show and not be spoiled before it even airs. So I do everything I can to avoid looking at any of the videos.

I really would love to ask someone on the 9-1-1 marketing team why do they keep releasing so many clips before the episode or show airs? Why is that even part of your marketing plan? I think it's good to release a clip of a vague scene to get fans and viewers interesting in the episode. However, they usually release at least 2-3 clips that show scenes that give away too much of the story. I'm sure they won't change their marketing approach because they continue to do it but it doesn't make any sense.

Monday Motivation: Daily Walks to Deal with Stress

Happy Monday, I hope everyone had a good weekend.

My motivation for today is dealing with stress. Lately, I've been dealing with a lot of it and I've been trying to figure out what to do about it. A solution I came up with is to go walking. I've been going for a few small walks throughout the day and it's been good in helping to clear my mind and to relax. That little bit of movement adds up and it has really increased my daily physical activity because sad to say there are days when I'm sitting for far too long. I can't speak for anyone else but so far walking has been very helpful in deal with my stress.

Quote: David Rose and Stevie Budd (Schitt's Creek)

In the Schitt's Creek first season episode Bad Parents, Stevie Budd was trying to help David Rose deal with his lack of money by trying to help him sell some of his designer clothes. In the previous episode, Don't Worry, It's His Sister, he did try to find a job but that didn't quite work out.

Back to his clothes, David was not being reasonable at all because I don't know how he thought he was going to get $850 dollars for a pair of pants even if they were designer. In the end, Stevie did come up with a good solution to help David keep his clothes since he admitted that he really didn't want to sell them. After the government seized nearly all of his family's assets, his clothes (the few that he was able to take) were all that he had and he really didn't want to get rid of them.

David: $850 dollars.

Stevie: $850 dollars?

David: These are a collector's. There's a woman in Paris that makes them by hand, so...

Steve: My car's worth less than your pants.

David: Well, I've seen your car, and that makes sense to me.

Weekend Films: Ask Me to Dance, Pumpkin Everything and The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry

Happy Weekend! What's everyone's movie plans? There are a lot of movies out this weekend but not a lot that I want to see. Here are the three that I'm interested in: Ask Me to Dance, Pumpkin Everything and The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry. They're all in the romance genre.

Ask Me to Dance is a dance movie (hence the title) which is a genre of movies I love (one of these days I'm going to post a picture of my dance movie collection), it seems like a fun romantic comedy of two people trying to find love along with their love of dancing. Pumpkin Everything centers on a writer who went back to her small town to look after her grandfather which I believe during pumpkin season and also finds love. The last movie is The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, when I read the book (or tried, it was a Did Not Finish) I couldn't connect with the story and found what I read to be boring. However, the trailer for the movie which seems really interesting makes me want to give the book a second read.

Well, these are the movies that I want to watch, what movies are you interested in seeing?

Fashion Meets Fandom: May Grant

It's no surprise that 9-1-1 is one of my favorite shows. It centers around first responders and what I like about the show is that it has a perfect mixture of action, drama and humor. But this post isn't about the show, it's a Fashion Meets Fandom for May Grant. May always wears really cute clothes and I noticed throughout the show, she wears a lot of cozy knits, stripe tops and sweaters, cool graphic t-shirts, bright colors and some eye-catching retro looking pieces. Which is why I wanted to create an outfit inspired by her.
